"You want me to drink alcohol?" Hayes asked, thinking he must have misheard. With his current health conditions, every doctor had advised him to quit drinking, so he had stopped long ago.

Now, Myles was not only telling him to drink but also to smoke. Surely, this had to be a joke.

"Yes, just one glass of liquor and one cigarette," Myles confirmed.

Jane immediately stood up, glaring at Myles with anger. "Myles, is it? I don't think you have good intentions. My grandfather's health is already in such a state. How can you ask him to drink?

"And on top of that, you want him to smoke? What are you trying to do?"

Ignoring her, Myles turned to Hayes and said, "If you trust me, then do as I say. If you don't, just pretend I never said anything."

"I trust you!" Hayes downed the glass in one gulp.

"Grandpa! The doctors told you not to drink—have you forgotten?" Jane was frantic, trying to stop him but unable to.
