Even so, the sight of Maddox kneeling on one knee left everyone in the room stunned. Their widened eyes were filled with shock and disbelief.

Maddox was the wealthiest man in Jonesburg and a figure of immense influence. Yet, he was actually kneeling to a man they thought was a worthless ex-son-in-law. What was going on?

No one was more stunned than Luna's family and Pierce's group.

"Mr. Schmidt, you must be mistaken! He's just a worthless ex-son-in-law. Why are you kneeling to him and greeting him so respectfully?" Ingrid asked, confused.
