Elena’s POV

"Phila, what's going on?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Phila's expression turned serious. "I went to see Kiara, but...she's dead, Elena. They told me the case has been closed."

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. "What? That's impossible! Why would they say that?"

Phila's eyes locked onto mine. "I think Alex is behind it, Elena. He must have done something to her to cover his tracks."

I couldn't speak, my mind racing with thoughts. Could Alex have killed Kiara? Why would he do such a thing?

"Phila, we have to do something," I finally managed to say. "We can't just let him get away with this."

Phila nodded, her face set in determination. "I know, Elena. But we have to be careful. If Alex is capable of killing Kiara, who knows what else he's capable of?"

I felt a chill run down my spine. What had we gotten ourselves into?

"We need to investigate further," I said, my mind racing with ideas. "See if we can find any evidence that links Alex to Kiara's death."
