Chapter 99

Elena’s POV

Since finding out I was pregnant, Daniel had been treating me like a fragile doll. He would open doors for me, pull out chairs, and even try to feed me. At first, it was sweet and thoughtful, but soon it became suffocating.

"I can do it myself, Daniel," I would say, trying to assert my independence.

But he would just smile and say, "Let me take care of you, baby. You're carrying our child."

He would make me sit down and rest, even when I wasn't tired. He would bring me water and healthy snacks, even when I wasn't hungry. He would even try to dress me like I was a child.

I felt like I was losing myself in all of this. I was still the same person, capable and strong. But Daniel seemed to have forgotten that.

I called Phila, exasperated. "Girl, I need your help. Daniel is driving me crazy!"

"What's going on?" Phila asked, her voice concerned.

"He's been treating me like a baby since I got pregnant. I can't take it anymore," I said, frustrated.
