In the dark corner of the driveway, two tall figures hid in the shadows. One of them visibly angry and the other calm as he stared at the enraged man. He clenched his fist as he glared at his friend.
"What the f**k,Russo?" He said through clenched teeth. "What the f**k was on your mind? What the f**k were you thinking?" Russo remained unfazed, his expression betraying no emotion as he remained silent, taking a huge puff of his cigarette. A punch landed on his face, the cigarettes falling from his lips to the slightly wet floor. He allowed his friend to vent his anger on him. The angry man continued with his attack on Russo, his face twisted into a snarl of anger. "I TOLD YOU TO CHILL THE F**K OUT" he said loudly with each punch. " We needed to keep him off our tail for now and you decide to pull this crazy stunt now" Russo, who had had enough, pushed him away. His nose was bloody from the attack. The huge scar on his face glinted under the dim light as he took a few steps away from his friend, putting a little distance between them. "I accept that I f**ked up but you have to chill out" The enraged man's anger increased at the nonchalant attitude from Russo, "What! Chill out!... Didn't you f**king saw that he was with a lady? What if you shot an innocent woman?" He paused for a moment as his phone lit up,his expression hardening at the sight of the caller ID. " Don't pull this stunt again, I gotta go" He said before entering his car and driving away. Russo watched as his friend drove away, leaving him standing alone in the dark driveway. He retrieved a cigar from a pack with a steady hand before bringing it to his lips and then lighting it. He took a huge puff of the cigarettes before exhaling it into the air, the smoke curling in the air as he exhaled. The smile on his face widened as he unbuttoned the cuff of his shirt before rolling it up to his forearm to reveal part of the tattoo that adorned his skin which stood out against his pale skin. ********************* Luca leaned against the driver's seat, his face twisted in pain. The blood from the wound soaked his shirt and his car seat. He took a peek at Alexandra who was still staring at him,her eyes wide with shock and fear. "I'll need you to check how deep the bullet went," Luca said. "What! I'm not a doctor. I might kill you. I…I'm not doing that" Alexandra said immediately as she shook her head frantically. Luca muttered obscenities under his breath as the pain intensified. Due to the training he has received,he is able to endure pain to a certain extent without passing out. "Let's switch. You drive. I think there's a hospital around, I don't know check your GPS" With some minor difficulty, they managed to switch seats. Luca moved slowly to avoid getting his blood on Alexandra's dress. Once they were both comfortable, Alexandra started driving. She glanced at Luca from time to time to make sure that he was okay. "Relax… I'm not going to die…so you don't have to stop looking at me with those frown lines on your face" Luca joked which Alexandra didn't find funny. "That's not funny, you're losing too much blood" Alexandra said in a concerned voice. " At least, I get to die beside a pretty girl," Luca joked , to which Alexandra didn't respond. Alexandra darted her eyes between the road and Luca. Luca sat quietly in the passenger seat, his breathing slightly labored. Alexandra could tell he was deeply in pain even though he tried to put on a brave front. Everytime the car jerked,a wave of pain shot through his shoulder making him wince involuntarily. "The hospital is always so far when you need it" They finally got to the hospital. Alexandra quickly came out of the car and rushed over to Luca's side. She helped him out of the car, supporting his weight on her shoulder. " You're so comfortable" he muttered into her ears. She helped him through the hospital door as she shouted for medical attention. A few nurses came towards her at a snail's pace. However as Luca raised his head, the nurses quickly rushed to their side. "Excuse me ma'am but you'll have to stay in the waiting room while we treat him" A short, round nurse said. " She's with me so let her in. We're together" Luca said, not taking his eyes off Alexandra. A look crossed the nurse's face as she hesitated for a moment before fixing her expression. She led them upstairs to a room where a doctor was already waiting. The doctor looked at Luca's wound before he started extracting the bullet from the wound. The sight of blood made Alexandra nauseous so she excused herself from the room to get some fresh air. Alexandra walked down the hallway, the strong scent of disinfectant filled the air. Alexandra has always hated hospitals because of the sick smell that comes with it. She heard whispered conversation coming from a nearby room and she couldn't help but eavesdrop when she heard one of them call Luca's name. "... I really thought she was lying when she said Mr Giorgi was here. He's more handsome than the news portrays" One of them said, staring dreamily into space. "That he is but the sad part is that he isn't available. I heard him calling the woman he came with as his girlfriend. I'm so jealous right now." The other replied. Alexandra shook her head at their gossip. He never said that, She thought to herself. She knew that listening in on their gossip wasn't a demure thing to do but curiosity got the best out of her. She leaned in closer while making sure she didn't make a sound and that nobody caught her red-handed. "It's not fair that I can't have him for myself anymore. He's rich and handsome. He's my dream man" Alexandra scoffed silently at her words. " Keep dreaming. He only goes for ladies of high class. You can tell that that lady belongs to a rich family not like the both of us who are struggling to make ends meet" Alexandra wished she could tell the nurses that they had a better paying job than her. Alexandra made her way back to the room which Luca was in. She couldn't describe the wave of sadness that suddenly washed over. She tried to bury the nurse's gossip at the back of her mind,an automated smile which she usually put on while serving customers at the diner appeared on her face as she reentered the room. A smile appeared on Luca's lip as he watched her come towards him. His shoulder was covered in a little amount of bandage. He still looked handsome, the bandage was the only proof that he was in pain a few minutes ago. "If I was in your place, I'm sure I'd look like a wet cat," Alexandra said in hopes of lightening up the mood. "I'm glad you didn't die or I would be in the police station right now" " Don't worry Tesoro, that will never happen" He replied with a chuckle. Alexandra sat on the seat across from him, her eyes flitting over his strong biceps. She looked at him with a serious expression on her face. " Do you have a magnet in your body that attracts bullets? It seems it's attracted to your body""Good night,Mira" Alexandra waved goodbye to her coworker as she made her way towards the path that led to the bus stop. She checked the phone on her phone and saw that it was five minutes past nine. "I need to hurry home before the wicked lady locks me out" She muttered under her breath as she clutched the strap of her bag closer to her shoulder. Alexandra always tried to get home early because her landlady gave a curfew but today, the restaurant had lots of customers making them close late. Alexandra is a twenty-one year old graduate of international relations but due to some circumstances, she works in a little end family diner. She lives alone after her parents cut off ties from her after she refused to marry an old man who they insisted she marry. "Music to calm my nerves down" She said but decided against it as she was in a dangerous neighborhood and it was advisable to be on guard. Alexandra flinched with every sound she heard. A news story came out last year that a you
After what felt like an eternity but was actually about thirty minutes, Alexandra finally got closer to her apartment building. She would have gotten home much earlier if not for the injured man she was supporting with her hand. She felt like her body was about to give out. From the distance, she noticed the security guard standing at the gate eating something. He had the habit of sneaking out to eat his snacks so that his co-workers wouldn't stop him because he has a junk eating problem. She increased her pace so that she'd get to him before he entered inside. It was way past her curfew and she didn't want to encounter Mrs Smithson, her landlady who had the habit of acting like a security camera."Hi, Good evening sir" Alexandra said in an overly sweet voice which made her wince internally. "Please can you open the gate…my friend here is seriously injured" She continued, looking up to her landlady's window but luckily her lights were out. The guard glared at her as he was trying to enj
Luca's men opened the door to reveal a small, barely lit room with a man strapped to a seat in the corner. The flimsy underpant he wore did nothing to cover his dignity. His face and body was covered in horrible bruises of different colors. Luca walked into the room, taking the seat opposite of the man. He stared at the man with menacing eyes as he spoke in a dark, low voice, "I must say you're really tough but too bad I'm not here for games, I hope you're ready to talk" The man threw his head back as he laughed hysterically before looking straight into Luca's eyes with defiance crossing his face. " I don't care what you do to me but I'm not saying a fucking word" he shouted in a hoarse voice. He tried to spit on Luca's face but due to the distance between them the saliva landed on the floor.Luca stood up, circling his seat before coming to stand in front of him. "I've heard that line so many times from people like you but do you want to know what's funny?" He asked in a low, dangero
Alexandra walked into her apartment, turning on the light to illuminate the dark room. She still felt disoriented from the stranger's earlier. She didn't know if she should be happy that he remembered her or scared that he did. She threw her key inside a bowl and proceeded to remove her shoes. She couldn't help but let her mind drift to the strange man. He was a very hard man to forget. Alexandra was not one to swoon over handsome faces but something about this man ignited this spark of attraction in her.The way his hair was combed, the slight scruff on his jaw which added a raw edge to his look and those intense brown eyes that seemed like it was staring right into her soulShe was about to remove the second shoe when something on her table caught her eyes. Walking closer she noticed a tiny wrapped gift and a note on it. "How did this get here?" She muttered under her breath as she picked it up examining the gift. Opening the note, she recognized the familiar handwriting immediately
Luca intentionally arrived late to the family dinner which didn't surprise his father. Luca has always found a way to go against him in one way or another. Ever since he found out that his father cheated on his mother when he was just seven,he vowed to have nothing to do with him and tried not to become like his father. His mother greeted him at the door with a welcoming smile on her lips."Good evening Mom" He greeted placing a soft kiss on her forehead. His father on the other hand didn't even spare him a glance. The tension in the air was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. "Luca baby, I made your favorite," Luca's mom said, trying to ease the awkwardness in the room. She stood up to dish out his food but he stopped her. "Don't worry Mom, I'll do it myself" He could sense his father's gaze on him from time to time but he chose to ignore him. His Mom asked him his work and how it has been but he replied curtly trying to keep his response short. He disliked his Mom's easy
"What did you just say?"Luca said slowly, his face blank with any emotion. "I said what you heard. I had a discussion with Don Marino and we came to an agreement that it will be beneficial to the both of us if you get married to his daughter. Just see this as a chance to strengthen the bond between the two families." Mr Giorgi replied unfazed by the look on Luca's face.Luca stood up abruptly, slamming his fist on the table. "I didn't ask for your help, old man. You can't just fix a marriage and expect me to comply" Mr Giorgi stared at Luca straight in his eyes, his face showing no emotion. He wasn't surprised at Luca's outburst. "I can give you all the time you need to process this information but make sure it doesn't take too long. Don't act selfishly and don't forget it's a family tradition.""Screw you and that damn tradition. I'm the Capo of this organization and I can decide to change the tradition if I please" Mr Giorgi's face turned hot red in anger as he clenched his jaw to
Alexandra handed the knife over to Aurora, her friend, so that she could cut the cake. Aurora has been her friend since they were in high school but as they grew up,they stopped communicating frequently but that didn't stop the bond between them."Happy birthday, Rory," Alexandra said, taking a seat on the plush cushion beside Aurora. "Make a wish and blow out your candles, I want cake" Alexandra laughed out loudly as she watched Aurora blow out the last of her candle. Aurora wiped away the imaginary sweat from her forehead as he released an exaggerated sigh."Is this a plan for you to kill me and eat all my cake?" Aurora said feigning exhaustion. " I almost lost my breath. Did you really have to put that many candles on the cake?"" Yeah duh! It's just 24 candles" Alexandra said, rolling her eyes. " Each for every year you've spent on earth, and I'm pretty sure that it's not that hard to put out a candle." Aurora rolled her eyes at Alexandra's words.Alexandra laughed at Aurora's ex
Luca and Marcus sat in the elevated area of the V.I.P section of the club, looking down at the people partying below. The voluptuous glow of the light casted shadows on their faces as they sipped from their drinks. The music pulsed through their veins as they enjoyed the view. The go-go dancers moved their bodies seductively to the slow rhythm of the music trying to get the attention of the occupant of the V.I.P. The private part of the club has a private show where they're entertained by private dancers.Luca and Marcus watched with an air of detachedness. They have come to the club plenty of times and have seen this multiple times that they have become bored of it. The dancers continued dancing, moving closer but not too close to them.Luca leaned back in his seat, swirling the amber liquid in his glass as he checked his phone.Marcus gestured at one of the dancers to come closer. She had a tall, slender physique which was Marcus's speck in ladies. She had a hungry look in her eyes
