"Good night,Mira"
Alexandra waved goodbye to her coworker as she made her way towards the path that led to the bus stop. She checked the phone on her phone and saw that it was five minutes past nine. "I need to hurry home before the wicked lady locks me out" She muttered under her breath as she clutched the strap of her bag closer to her shoulder. Alexandra always tried to get home early because her landlady gave a curfew but today, the restaurant had lots of customers making them close late. Alexandra is a twenty-one year old graduate of international relations but due to some circumstances, she works in a little end family diner. She lives alone after her parents cut off ties from her after she refused to marry an old man who they insisted she marry. "Music to calm my nerves down" She said but decided against it as she was in a dangerous neighborhood and it was advisable to be on guard. Alexandra flinched with every sound she heard. A news story came out last year that a young woman was killed along this path which made her stop taking this path until five months ago. Alexandra had refused to leave her room out of fear that the killer was out there but after several tries by the police to find the killer, everyone forgot about the case and everything went back to normal. On getting to the bus stop, she sat on the bench as she waited for a bus. She unlocked her phone to see several calls from the electricity company and a few from her neighbor,Mara. She's been getting calls from the electricity company because she was still owing her electricity bills and she didn't have money to pay yet. They had cut her power supply and she knew that it would cost a lot to connect it back. She called Mara but received no response. "She's probably sleeping" She sat on the bench waiting for a bus but the only one she had seen was already full. She contemplated walking home but that was a good thirty minutes walk from the bus stop. "Why today?" She groaned as she stood up already feeling sore from sitting down. After waiting for a few more minutes and noticed no sign of a bus,she picked her bag from the bench as she made her way down the street home. "I guess I'm walking home tonight" She said out loud but regretted it as her voice pierced through her ears. Her home was a straight path down but it was very far. She scanned her surroundings with each step that she took, the constant fear of what was in the dark nagged at the back of her mind. She held her phone tightly in her hand as she put her Coworker, Mira on speed dial just in case something went wrong while clutching her bag tightly to her shoulder. She was walking down quickly and then stopped when she heard a faint grunt. She thought it was in her head and wanted to continue moving but again she heard another grunt. She moved towards the source of the sound hesitantly, knowing that it was stupid to move towards a dark path but curiosity got the best of her. Her heart was beating against her chest and for a moment she thought that it would break through her heart cage. She stopped trying to convince herself that it would be better to be safe in her bed than here but the grunt reached her ear breaking her resolve. "I'll just satisfy my curiosity, maybe someone is in danger and needs help" She said to herself as she walked further down the path. The cold air caressed the exposed part of her skin which was not covered with clothing and she immediately regretted leaving the house in a sundress. She took slow steps towards the low grunt as her heart got louder each second that passed. The dark abyss of the night enveloped her as she walked. She strained her eyes in the dark trying to make out any movement as she got closer to the sound. She turned back when she didn't see anything but stopped as she heard another low grunt followed by a sharp intake of air. She took slow steps towards the direction of the sound and finally saw the silhouette of the body on the ground. Turning on her phone's flashlight, she saw a man hunched over clutching the left side of his stomach as blood seeped through his shirt staining his shirt a deep crimson color. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight before her. She quickly rushed to him, kneeling beside him as she stared down at his face. She was confused as she didn't know what to do. Beads of sweat trickled down the man's face as he squeezed his face in pain. He took painful gasps of air into his lungs. "Can you hear me? Are you okay?" Alexandra asked in concern. The man raised his head staring at her straight in her eyes. His handsome features are hard from the pain. "Oh no, I feel fucking amazing" He said, his voice filled with both irritation and pain. She was surprised at why he was mean but she ignored him and picked up her phone from where she kept it. "You're hurt but you still have a little strength to be sassy… I'm calling 911" She said as she dialed the number on her keypad. She was about to press the call button when the man dragged her phone from her hand and threw it on the floor. He was so fast that she didn't notice it coming even in his injured state. "Don't call 911 or anybody, just get me out of here" the man said leaning his back on the wall behind him. Alexandra was tempted to slam his head on the wall. She glared at him before picking her phone, noticing that half of the screen was blind. "You broke my phone and you're going to pay" Alexandra not minding that he was an injured man. "What happened to using our words?" She asked, her voice cracking slightly from frustration. "I'll pay for it,get me out of here" He said as he stood up slowly, using the wall as a support. "This phone was our only source of light" Alexandra said as she tried to turn on the flashlight on the good part of the screen. The man released a throaty chuckle as he stared down at her. He leaned against the wall as he took slow breaths. "I fucking said that I'll buy you a new one, don't you get that part" he said, irritation evident in his voice. "So call a cab right now" Alexandra was tempted to leave him here to bleed out but the promise of a new phone made her keep her mouth shut. "You're lucky that I need a new phone" She said in head as she managed to turn on the flashlight of her phone. "It will be better if you go to the hospital, don't you think?" Alexandra said as she helped him out of the Alley. "I'm not a doctor so if you leave your injured state in my hands, you'll probably bleed out" " Look, I'll handle that… just help me out here" He said, trying to stop himself from lashing out at her. She grunted under her breath before leading him out of the Alley onto the road. Alexandra wondered what he was doing by this time of the night with a gunshot wound and no phone to call for help. She thought about taking a stranger to her house but her kind heart couldn't let her abandon an injured man on the road. After what felt like an eternity but was actually about thirty minutes, Alexandra finally got closer to her apartment building. She would have gotten home much earlier if not for the injured man she was supporting with her hand. She felt like her body was about to give out. From the distance, she noticed the security guard standing at the gate eating something. He had the habit of sneaking out to eat his snacks so that his co-workers wouldn't stop him because he has a junk eating problem. She increased her pace so that she'd get to him before he entered inside. It was way past her curfew and she didn't want to encounter Mrs Smithson, her landlady who had the habit of acting like a security camera."Hi, Good evening sir" Alexandra said in an overly sweet voice which made her wince internally. "Please can you open the gate…my friend here is seriously injured" She continued, looking up to her landlady's window but luckily her lights were out. The guard glared at her as he was trying to enj
Luca's men opened the door to reveal a small, barely lit room with a man strapped to a seat in the corner. The flimsy underpant he wore did nothing to cover his dignity. His face and body was covered in horrible bruises of different colors. Luca walked into the room, taking the seat opposite of the man. He stared at the man with menacing eyes as he spoke in a dark, low voice, "I must say you're really tough but too bad I'm not here for games, I hope you're ready to talk" The man threw his head back as he laughed hysterically before looking straight into Luca's eyes with defiance crossing his face. " I don't care what you do to me but I'm not saying a fucking word" he shouted in a hoarse voice. He tried to spit on Luca's face but due to the distance between them the saliva landed on the floor.Luca stood up, circling his seat before coming to stand in front of him. "I've heard that line so many times from people like you but do you want to know what's funny?" He asked in a low, dangero
Alexandra walked into her apartment, turning on the light to illuminate the dark room. She still felt disoriented from the stranger's earlier. She didn't know if she should be happy that he remembered her or scared that he did. She threw her key inside a bowl and proceeded to remove her shoes. She couldn't help but let her mind drift to the strange man. He was a very hard man to forget. Alexandra was not one to swoon over handsome faces but something about this man ignited this spark of attraction in her.The way his hair was combed, the slight scruff on his jaw which added a raw edge to his look and those intense brown eyes that seemed like it was staring right into her soulShe was about to remove the second shoe when something on her table caught her eyes. Walking closer she noticed a tiny wrapped gift and a note on it. "How did this get here?" She muttered under her breath as she picked it up examining the gift. Opening the note, she recognized the familiar handwriting immediately
Luca intentionally arrived late to the family dinner which didn't surprise his father. Luca has always found a way to go against him in one way or another. Ever since he found out that his father cheated on his mother when he was just seven,he vowed to have nothing to do with him and tried not to become like his father. His mother greeted him at the door with a welcoming smile on her lips."Good evening Mom" He greeted placing a soft kiss on her forehead. His father on the other hand didn't even spare him a glance. The tension in the air was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. "Luca baby, I made your favorite," Luca's mom said, trying to ease the awkwardness in the room. She stood up to dish out his food but he stopped her. "Don't worry Mom, I'll do it myself" He could sense his father's gaze on him from time to time but he chose to ignore him. His Mom asked him his work and how it has been but he replied curtly trying to keep his response short. He disliked his Mom's easy
"What did you just say?"Luca said slowly, his face blank with any emotion. "I said what you heard. I had a discussion with Don Marino and we came to an agreement that it will be beneficial to the both of us if you get married to his daughter. Just see this as a chance to strengthen the bond between the two families." Mr Giorgi replied unfazed by the look on Luca's face.Luca stood up abruptly, slamming his fist on the table. "I didn't ask for your help, old man. You can't just fix a marriage and expect me to comply" Mr Giorgi stared at Luca straight in his eyes, his face showing no emotion. He wasn't surprised at Luca's outburst. "I can give you all the time you need to process this information but make sure it doesn't take too long. Don't act selfishly and don't forget it's a family tradition.""Screw you and that damn tradition. I'm the Capo of this organization and I can decide to change the tradition if I please" Mr Giorgi's face turned hot red in anger as he clenched his jaw to
Alexandra handed the knife over to Aurora, her friend, so that she could cut the cake. Aurora has been her friend since they were in high school but as they grew up,they stopped communicating frequently but that didn't stop the bond between them."Happy birthday, Rory," Alexandra said, taking a seat on the plush cushion beside Aurora. "Make a wish and blow out your candles, I want cake" Alexandra laughed out loudly as she watched Aurora blow out the last of her candle. Aurora wiped away the imaginary sweat from her forehead as he released an exaggerated sigh."Is this a plan for you to kill me and eat all my cake?" Aurora said feigning exhaustion. " I almost lost my breath. Did you really have to put that many candles on the cake?"" Yeah duh! It's just 24 candles" Alexandra said, rolling her eyes. " Each for every year you've spent on earth, and I'm pretty sure that it's not that hard to put out a candle." Aurora rolled her eyes at Alexandra's words.Alexandra laughed at Aurora's ex
Luca and Marcus sat in the elevated area of the V.I.P section of the club, looking down at the people partying below. The voluptuous glow of the light casted shadows on their faces as they sipped from their drinks. The music pulsed through their veins as they enjoyed the view. The go-go dancers moved their bodies seductively to the slow rhythm of the music trying to get the attention of the occupant of the V.I.P. The private part of the club has a private show where they're entertained by private dancers.Luca and Marcus watched with an air of detachedness. They have come to the club plenty of times and have seen this multiple times that they have become bored of it. The dancers continued dancing, moving closer but not too close to them.Luca leaned back in his seat, swirling the amber liquid in his glass as he checked his phone.Marcus gestured at one of the dancers to come closer. She had a tall, slender physique which was Marcus's speck in ladies. She had a hungry look in her eyes
Alexandra walked closely behind Aurora as they stepped into the club not wanting to lose sight of her. The interior view overwhelmed her and she almost had a sensory overload from all the things she was feeling at that moment. The music was very loud and the beats thumped hard making her skin vibrate. The dim flashing light casted dark shadows on the faces of the people dancing in the club. This was her first time entering inside a club before. She had always seen one from afar and it had been on her highschool bucket list to go to a club. She felt her inner child squeal from delight that she had finally crossed that off.Micheal excused himself and made his way into the club getting lost in the swarm of people. Aurora held Alexandra's hand as she led her towards the crowd to the bar. "Two glasses of fruity fizz please" Aurora said to the bartender as she settled into her seat. Alexandra looked around enjoying the view around her.Leaning towards Aurora, she said loudly, "I'm glad you
