Alexandra sat in the very high class restaurant as she waited for Luca. He had sent his driver to pick her up and bring her here. The restaurant was so fancy with a very serene atmosphere. A week ago, Alexandra didn't think that she'd step foot into a fancy restaurant like this today but here she was.
She observed the place subtly taking in the magnificent setting. A waiter had asked her what she wanted to eat but she decided to wait for Luca to make the order. The restaurant was empty except for her and the staff. She was glad that no one was around because she was feeling a little self conscious about herself. Hearing footsteps approaching her, Alexandra turned to see Luca walking towards her. His hair was slightly tousled as though he had run his hands through them repeatedly but that didn't do anything to make him less handsome. He smiled as he noticed her looking at him which made her drop her gaze. He sat across from her, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, something…important came up" he said in a smooth voice which was also sincere. "I don't mind. I just arrived too " Alexandra said as she dismissed his apology. She didn't mind that he came a little bit late because it gave her a little time to calm her jittery nerves. Luca's eyes traced every feature of her face, from her eyes to her nose and down to her glossed lips. Alexandra felt her cheeks warm up under his heated gaze. "Is there a problem? Is there something wrong with my face?" She said as she tried to keep her voice firm. " You're staring" The corner of his lips pulled up in a smirk at her words. "Am I not supposed to stare at you?" He said feigning ignorance. "It's not my fault that my eyes loves a beauty like you" Alexandra's face once again heated up because of Luca. She cleared her throat and quietly mouthed a soft "thanks" A waiter came to their table interrupting the awkwardness which Alexandra was thankful for. He handed them both menus before exiting as he gave them time to place their orders. Alexandra focused on the menu while ignoring the heated gaze from Luca. Most of the meals were familiar to her,not because she had eaten them before but because she watched countless videos about making fancy dishes after she got the job at the diner. She hadn't had the opportunity to try them because of how expensive it was to get the ingredients. She glanced back at Luca to see him looking at the menu in his hand. As though noticing her gaze,he looked over the menu and she quickly looked away. The prices on the menu were outrageous as they were enough to feed her for a month. She placed her menu down right after Luca, mustering a weak smile when he stared at her. "Are you done? I'll call the waiter, so what are you ordering?" Luca asked as he signaled for the waiter. "I'll have whatever you're having, I really don't know what to pick" He stared at her for a moment as though considering something before he said, " okay, whatever you say" The waiter collected their orders before excusing himself to the kitchen. Once he was gone, Luca focused his attention on Alexandra. He was aware of the fact that she felt uncomfortable under his gaze but he enjoyed the way her cheeks warmed up at every slightest thing. "I must say," Luca said, his voice tinged with a touch of intrigue, "I thought that you were going to decline the dinner invitation. I pegged you as a careful girl" She met his gaze with challenging eyes, " Well I am a careful girl, very careful" she said in a steady voice. "...but sometimes I choose to become loose, you know, for the vibe of it" ★★★★★★★★★★ " I don't really talk about them," Alexandra said as she took a bite from her food. "...or talk to them, it's like they were never in my life" They talked about different things as they ate from their hobby to dislikes and then to their family. " And why don't you talk to them?" Luca asked. " They tried to get me to marry an old man for money and they also threatened to disown me if I didn't. Can you imagine?" She said, the memories of that day coming to her. " Long story short, I ran away from home and it's better that way" " That's interesting," Luca said, shaking his head at her. " Interesting?" Alexandra asked, staring at him with confusion in his eyes. " I find it interesting that you had the courage to move out from your parents house at a very young age. That's interesting, Alexandra" Luca replied with a shrug of shoulder. "I guess so," Alexandra said, trying to avoid meeting his gaze."I mean it wasn't easy at first but now… enough about me, it's your turn" She said, directing the conversation away from herself. "What do you want to know about me?" "Ummm, What do you do? I can see you're very rich obviously" She said, unsure of how to word it. " I own a company." He said curtly. Alexandra remained silent as she waited for him to continue but the look on his face indicated that he was done talking. He seemed guarded as though the conversation irritated him. She could feel that he didn't want to talk about it so she dropped the topic. Alexandra pushed her plates away. Luca stared at her before glancing at her food which she barely ate from. "What's wrong? You don't want to eat?" Luca asked. She shook her head, feeling slightly overwhelmed. " Yea, I'm pretty full" she laughed, rubbing her belly to emphasize on full. Luca didn't seem to share the same humor as her as he asked seriously, "Was the food not to your taste?" "I didn't like the food, I'm not really used to this kind of food" she said suddenly, surprised at her words. Luca's eyes darkened and he leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. He then called the manager over. The manager appeared immediately on hearing that Luca wanted to speak with him. He bowed down a little and kept a polite expression on his face. "Yes,sir?" Luca waved towards their plates before saying in a cool and unyielding voice. "I think it's time to let your chef go. I want you to fire him" The Manager's eyes widened in shock at the sudden demand. " Sir? What's wrong? Was the food not to your liking" he said, directing the question to Alexandra. " Did I stutter, Mr Jack" Luca said in a serious tone. " The chef is one of our best-" Luca cut him off with a sharp response. " I don't care, you need to hire more competent staffs" The heavy feeling of guilt washed over Alexandra as she stared at the Manager's expression. Left with no other choice, she fell to the ground and laid unconscious. Years of living with her parents had taught her how to fake a faint. Luca hurried over to her and hoisted her on his arm as he stared down at her worriedly. He carried her outside towards his car without bothering to pay for the food. He placed her in the passenger's seat before getting into the driver's. He was about to start the car when he noticed Alexandra's eyes flutter open. She couldn't continue the charade anymore as the look on his face almost made her laugh. Luca stared at her worriedly, his voice filled with worry as he spoke, "Are you okay?" But before she could respond, a sharp noise shot through the air followed by a pained look crossing Luca's face. Alexandra stared at Luca in confusion, "What's wrong?" She asked as she held his shoulders to get him to focus on her. She felt a sticky substance on her left hand and she brought her hand to her face and her eyes widened as she noticed that the substance was blood. Alexandra let out a shrill scream at the sight of the blood, her voice echoing through the car.In the dark corner of the driveway, two tall figures hid in the shadows. One of them visibly angry and the other calm as he stared at the enraged man. He clenched his fist as he glared at his friend."What the f**k,Russo?" He said through clenched teeth. "What the f**k was on your mind? What the f**k were you thinking?" Russo remained unfazed, his expression betraying no emotion as he remained silent, taking a huge puff of his cigarette. A punch landed on his face, the cigarettes falling from his lips to the slightly wet floor. He allowed his friend to vent his anger on him.The angry man continued with his attack on Russo, his face twisted into a snarl of anger. "I TOLD YOU TO CHILL THE F**K OUT" he said loudly with each punch. " We needed to keep him off our tail for now and you decide to pull this crazy stunt now"Russo, who had had enough, pushed him away. His nose was bloody from the attack. The huge scar on his face glinted under the dim light as he took a few steps away from hi
"Good night,Mira" Alexandra waved goodbye to her coworker as she made her way towards the path that led to the bus stop. She checked the phone on her phone and saw that it was five minutes past nine. "I need to hurry home before the wicked lady locks me out" She muttered under her breath as she clutched the strap of her bag closer to her shoulder. Alexandra always tried to get home early because her landlady gave a curfew but today, the restaurant had lots of customers making them close late. Alexandra is a twenty-one year old graduate of international relations but due to some circumstances, she works in a little end family diner. She lives alone after her parents cut off ties from her after she refused to marry an old man who they insisted she marry. "Music to calm my nerves down" She said but decided against it as she was in a dangerous neighborhood and it was advisable to be on guard. Alexandra flinched with every sound she heard. A news story came out last year that a you
After what felt like an eternity but was actually about thirty minutes, Alexandra finally got closer to her apartment building. She would have gotten home much earlier if not for the injured man she was supporting with her hand. She felt like her body was about to give out. From the distance, she noticed the security guard standing at the gate eating something. He had the habit of sneaking out to eat his snacks so that his co-workers wouldn't stop him because he has a junk eating problem. She increased her pace so that she'd get to him before he entered inside. It was way past her curfew and she didn't want to encounter Mrs Smithson, her landlady who had the habit of acting like a security camera."Hi, Good evening sir" Alexandra said in an overly sweet voice which made her wince internally. "Please can you open the gate…my friend here is seriously injured" She continued, looking up to her landlady's window but luckily her lights were out. The guard glared at her as he was trying to enj
Luca's men opened the door to reveal a small, barely lit room with a man strapped to a seat in the corner. The flimsy underpant he wore did nothing to cover his dignity. His face and body was covered in horrible bruises of different colors. Luca walked into the room, taking the seat opposite of the man. He stared at the man with menacing eyes as he spoke in a dark, low voice, "I must say you're really tough but too bad I'm not here for games, I hope you're ready to talk" The man threw his head back as he laughed hysterically before looking straight into Luca's eyes with defiance crossing his face. " I don't care what you do to me but I'm not saying a fucking word" he shouted in a hoarse voice. He tried to spit on Luca's face but due to the distance between them the saliva landed on the floor.Luca stood up, circling his seat before coming to stand in front of him. "I've heard that line so many times from people like you but do you want to know what's funny?" He asked in a low, dangero
Alexandra walked into her apartment, turning on the light to illuminate the dark room. She still felt disoriented from the stranger's earlier. She didn't know if she should be happy that he remembered her or scared that he did. She threw her key inside a bowl and proceeded to remove her shoes. She couldn't help but let her mind drift to the strange man. He was a very hard man to forget. Alexandra was not one to swoon over handsome faces but something about this man ignited this spark of attraction in her.The way his hair was combed, the slight scruff on his jaw which added a raw edge to his look and those intense brown eyes that seemed like it was staring right into her soulShe was about to remove the second shoe when something on her table caught her eyes. Walking closer she noticed a tiny wrapped gift and a note on it. "How did this get here?" She muttered under her breath as she picked it up examining the gift. Opening the note, she recognized the familiar handwriting immediately
Luca intentionally arrived late to the family dinner which didn't surprise his father. Luca has always found a way to go against him in one way or another. Ever since he found out that his father cheated on his mother when he was just seven,he vowed to have nothing to do with him and tried not to become like his father. His mother greeted him at the door with a welcoming smile on her lips."Good evening Mom" He greeted placing a soft kiss on her forehead. His father on the other hand didn't even spare him a glance. The tension in the air was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. "Luca baby, I made your favorite," Luca's mom said, trying to ease the awkwardness in the room. She stood up to dish out his food but he stopped her. "Don't worry Mom, I'll do it myself" He could sense his father's gaze on him from time to time but he chose to ignore him. His Mom asked him his work and how it has been but he replied curtly trying to keep his response short. He disliked his Mom's easy
"What did you just say?"Luca said slowly, his face blank with any emotion. "I said what you heard. I had a discussion with Don Marino and we came to an agreement that it will be beneficial to the both of us if you get married to his daughter. Just see this as a chance to strengthen the bond between the two families." Mr Giorgi replied unfazed by the look on Luca's face.Luca stood up abruptly, slamming his fist on the table. "I didn't ask for your help, old man. You can't just fix a marriage and expect me to comply" Mr Giorgi stared at Luca straight in his eyes, his face showing no emotion. He wasn't surprised at Luca's outburst. "I can give you all the time you need to process this information but make sure it doesn't take too long. Don't act selfishly and don't forget it's a family tradition.""Screw you and that damn tradition. I'm the Capo of this organization and I can decide to change the tradition if I please" Mr Giorgi's face turned hot red in anger as he clenched his jaw to
Alexandra handed the knife over to Aurora, her friend, so that she could cut the cake. Aurora has been her friend since they were in high school but as they grew up,they stopped communicating frequently but that didn't stop the bond between them."Happy birthday, Rory," Alexandra said, taking a seat on the plush cushion beside Aurora. "Make a wish and blow out your candles, I want cake" Alexandra laughed out loudly as she watched Aurora blow out the last of her candle. Aurora wiped away the imaginary sweat from her forehead as he released an exaggerated sigh."Is this a plan for you to kill me and eat all my cake?" Aurora said feigning exhaustion. " I almost lost my breath. Did you really have to put that many candles on the cake?"" Yeah duh! It's just 24 candles" Alexandra said, rolling her eyes. " Each for every year you've spent on earth, and I'm pretty sure that it's not that hard to put out a candle." Aurora rolled her eyes at Alexandra's words.Alexandra laughed at Aurora's ex
