After what felt like an eternity but was actually about thirty minutes, Alexandra finally got closer to her apartment building. She would have gotten home much earlier if not for the injured man she was supporting with her hand. She felt like her body was about to give out.
From the distance, she noticed the security guard standing at the gate eating something. He had the habit of sneaking out to eat his snacks so that his co-workers wouldn't stop him because he has a junk eating problem. She increased her pace so that she'd get to him before he entered inside. It was way past her curfew and she didn't want to encounter Mrs Smithson, her landlady who had the habit of acting like a security camera. "Hi, Good evening sir" Alexandra said in an overly sweet voice which made her wince internally. "Please can you open the gate…my friend here is seriously injured" She continued, looking up to her landlady's window but luckily her lights were out. The guard glared at her as he was trying to enjoy his late night snack. "I'm not going to let you in, it's already past the curfew so just go to the hospital or book a hotel" He said, eating his snacks as he tried to ignore her presence. "I didn't mean to come back this late but it's not my fault" She said, her voice not hiding the tiredness in them. She glanced at the stranger who leaned on the pillar behind her. All she wanted was to take a warm bath and get under the covers. The guard raised an eyebrow at her as he stared at her as though she was crazy. " I'm sorry, it's clearly my fault" he said, sarcasm dripping from his tone. "M…My friend here is seriously injured and we couldn't get a cab" Alexandra stated. "Plus my phone was down" The guard looked at them from the other side of the gate, still not bothering to open the gate. "It would have been better if you had gone straight to the hospital," He said, taking a bite out of his snack. Alexandra released a tired sigh. Today was already stressful enough, now this. She was about to say something but the injured stranger stepped forward obstructing her view from the guard. She didn't realize at first but then her eyes widened as she saw him bring a gun from his pocket. She froze as she watched him raise the gun to the frozen guard. "What's he doing with a gun?" She screamed in her head. She didn't know what a normal man was doing with a gun. "Of course he's not a normal man" she scolded herself mentally. "I should have known when I saw the gunshot injury" "Don't fucking let me blow your brain out, I'm not in a pleasant mood right now" The man said in a low voice still pointing the gun at the guard. " Now open the fucking gate" Without giving it a second thought, the guard hurriedly opened the gate, fear written across his face. His hands shook as he struggled to open the gate. His gaze glanced at Alexandra as his feature was scrunched in confusion. He didn't expect Alexandra to associate with someone with a gun. He's always seen her as a sweet girl. The guard opened the gate wide enough for the both of them to pass through. The man walked in first with Alexandra following a few steps after him. The guard watched them as they walked closer to the apartment, contemplating calling the police but decided against it. "As long as I'm okay" he muttered in the dark before shutting the gate with a soft click. Alexandra felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. She won't be surprised if he could hear her heartbeat. Her body was hyper aware of the gun that was in his back pocket. The stranger walked ahead of her before waiting for her to get closer. When she got closer she remembered that he was injured. "Your wound?" He nudged her towards the entrance with a firm hand on the small of her back. She couldn't help but steal quick glances at him,her eyes mostly moving to the huge red patch on his shirt. The sight made her slightly nauseous. She hasn't always been a fan of blood. "Ummm… my apartment is the one on the end of the hallway" She said, swallowing the thick lump in her throat. "Does your wound still hurt? You don't look like you're in pain" "It hurts like shit. Like someone took a knife, stabbed it in my gut and fucking twisted it" he snap at her, walking ahead of her towards her apartment. She frowned thinking if it was a good idea bringing a stranger home. She opened the door and watched as the man walked into her apartment. He scanned her living room before turning to Alexandra. "Do you have a first aid kit and a mirror?" " Huh… yea, I have one" she said before entering into her bathroom. She grabbed the kit from the bathroom cabinet and grabbed a mirror from the sink before returning to the living room. She handed it to him and watched as he cleaned and covered his wound. Once he was done, she gave him a blanket. " You can sleep here and leave tomorrow" He collected the blanket from her, his gaze lingering on her face, making her a little bit self conscious. He nodded before saying a low thank you to her. Once she had locked her door, she went to her bedroom, locking the door behind her to offer a sense of security before lying on her bed. It didn't take long before she drifted into the warm embrace of sleep. ★★★★★★★★★★★ The sunlight shone through the window onto Alexandra's face waking her up. She checked the time and it was only thirty minutes after seven. The sun casted a warm glow in her room. She groaned before rolling out of bed. "Ahhh,I overslept!" She said out loud before the thought of last night came rushing in. The man from last night, she thought before making her way towards the living room. When she got there,There was no sign of the man anywhere. "How did he open the door?" She remembered carrying the key to her room. The thought that he had entered her room made her skin crawl. She walked to the door, locking it before leaning her back on it. She noticed something on her table and when she got closer she noticed that it was a huge wad of cash and a note. Her eyes widened at the sight of such an amount of money. That looked like her salary for three months. She picked up the note reading the words on it. "Get yourself a new phone" The money was enough to sought herself now. " I didn't even get his name," she said as she grabbed the money before going to her room to hide it.Luca's men opened the door to reveal a small, barely lit room with a man strapped to a seat in the corner. The flimsy underpant he wore did nothing to cover his dignity. His face and body was covered in horrible bruises of different colors. Luca walked into the room, taking the seat opposite of the man. He stared at the man with menacing eyes as he spoke in a dark, low voice, "I must say you're really tough but too bad I'm not here for games, I hope you're ready to talk" The man threw his head back as he laughed hysterically before looking straight into Luca's eyes with defiance crossing his face. " I don't care what you do to me but I'm not saying a fucking word" he shouted in a hoarse voice. He tried to spit on Luca's face but due to the distance between them the saliva landed on the floor.Luca stood up, circling his seat before coming to stand in front of him. "I've heard that line so many times from people like you but do you want to know what's funny?" He asked in a low, dangero
Alexandra walked into her apartment, turning on the light to illuminate the dark room. She still felt disoriented from the stranger's earlier. She didn't know if she should be happy that he remembered her or scared that he did. She threw her key inside a bowl and proceeded to remove her shoes. She couldn't help but let her mind drift to the strange man. He was a very hard man to forget. Alexandra was not one to swoon over handsome faces but something about this man ignited this spark of attraction in her.The way his hair was combed, the slight scruff on his jaw which added a raw edge to his look and those intense brown eyes that seemed like it was staring right into her soulShe was about to remove the second shoe when something on her table caught her eyes. Walking closer she noticed a tiny wrapped gift and a note on it. "How did this get here?" She muttered under her breath as she picked it up examining the gift. Opening the note, she recognized the familiar handwriting immediately
Luca intentionally arrived late to the family dinner which didn't surprise his father. Luca has always found a way to go against him in one way or another. Ever since he found out that his father cheated on his mother when he was just seven,he vowed to have nothing to do with him and tried not to become like his father. His mother greeted him at the door with a welcoming smile on her lips."Good evening Mom" He greeted placing a soft kiss on her forehead. His father on the other hand didn't even spare him a glance. The tension in the air was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. "Luca baby, I made your favorite," Luca's mom said, trying to ease the awkwardness in the room. She stood up to dish out his food but he stopped her. "Don't worry Mom, I'll do it myself" He could sense his father's gaze on him from time to time but he chose to ignore him. His Mom asked him his work and how it has been but he replied curtly trying to keep his response short. He disliked his Mom's easy
"What did you just say?"Luca said slowly, his face blank with any emotion. "I said what you heard. I had a discussion with Don Marino and we came to an agreement that it will be beneficial to the both of us if you get married to his daughter. Just see this as a chance to strengthen the bond between the two families." Mr Giorgi replied unfazed by the look on Luca's face.Luca stood up abruptly, slamming his fist on the table. "I didn't ask for your help, old man. You can't just fix a marriage and expect me to comply" Mr Giorgi stared at Luca straight in his eyes, his face showing no emotion. He wasn't surprised at Luca's outburst. "I can give you all the time you need to process this information but make sure it doesn't take too long. Don't act selfishly and don't forget it's a family tradition.""Screw you and that damn tradition. I'm the Capo of this organization and I can decide to change the tradition if I please" Mr Giorgi's face turned hot red in anger as he clenched his jaw to
Alexandra handed the knife over to Aurora, her friend, so that she could cut the cake. Aurora has been her friend since they were in high school but as they grew up,they stopped communicating frequently but that didn't stop the bond between them."Happy birthday, Rory," Alexandra said, taking a seat on the plush cushion beside Aurora. "Make a wish and blow out your candles, I want cake" Alexandra laughed out loudly as she watched Aurora blow out the last of her candle. Aurora wiped away the imaginary sweat from her forehead as he released an exaggerated sigh."Is this a plan for you to kill me and eat all my cake?" Aurora said feigning exhaustion. " I almost lost my breath. Did you really have to put that many candles on the cake?"" Yeah duh! It's just 24 candles" Alexandra said, rolling her eyes. " Each for every year you've spent on earth, and I'm pretty sure that it's not that hard to put out a candle." Aurora rolled her eyes at Alexandra's words.Alexandra laughed at Aurora's ex
Luca and Marcus sat in the elevated area of the V.I.P section of the club, looking down at the people partying below. The voluptuous glow of the light casted shadows on their faces as they sipped from their drinks. The music pulsed through their veins as they enjoyed the view. The go-go dancers moved their bodies seductively to the slow rhythm of the music trying to get the attention of the occupant of the V.I.P. The private part of the club has a private show where they're entertained by private dancers.Luca and Marcus watched with an air of detachedness. They have come to the club plenty of times and have seen this multiple times that they have become bored of it. The dancers continued dancing, moving closer but not too close to them.Luca leaned back in his seat, swirling the amber liquid in his glass as he checked his phone.Marcus gestured at one of the dancers to come closer. She had a tall, slender physique which was Marcus's speck in ladies. She had a hungry look in her eyes
Alexandra walked closely behind Aurora as they stepped into the club not wanting to lose sight of her. The interior view overwhelmed her and she almost had a sensory overload from all the things she was feeling at that moment. The music was very loud and the beats thumped hard making her skin vibrate. The dim flashing light casted dark shadows on the faces of the people dancing in the club. This was her first time entering inside a club before. She had always seen one from afar and it had been on her highschool bucket list to go to a club. She felt her inner child squeal from delight that she had finally crossed that off.Micheal excused himself and made his way into the club getting lost in the swarm of people. Aurora held Alexandra's hand as she led her towards the crowd to the bar. "Two glasses of fruity fizz please" Aurora said to the bartender as she settled into her seat. Alexandra looked around enjoying the view around her.Leaning towards Aurora, she said loudly, "I'm glad you
Luca felt his phone vibrate in his pocket indicating a call. He pulled it from his pocket and checked the caller ID, seeing that it's from Marcus, his expression turned serious. Marcus hardly calls unless it's an emergency. "Excuse me, I'll be right back" He said to Alexandra as he walked to a more quiet part of the club."What's wrong?" He said as soon as he answered the call. "We need to head out now, just received word from our spy that Elias sent his men to the club for an ambush" Marcus's tense voice said through the speaker. Before Luca could say a word, a sudden round of gunshots fired into the air causing havoc and chaos in the club. The people in the club ran in different directions trying to protect themselves, shoving over weak people and trampling on them.Luca forced himself through the crowd of panicked people, his eyes focused on looking for Alexandra. He held the butt of his gun in his hand, aiming it to shoot at a rival that was on the top floor. He went upstairs to
