Alexandra got closer to her apartment with a huge grin playing on her lips. She half skipped and half walked to her apartment, her face bright with excitement. Her smile dropped when she noticed a figure crouched in front of her door.
As though noticing her presence, the person looked towards Alexandra's direction, revealing a family face. "Aurora!" Alexandra's voice echoed in the hallway as she saw her friend. She had forgotten the main reason she was worried at first and suddenly she felt like a bad friend for forgetting her friend. Aurora quickly stood up as she rushed towards Alexandra before enveloping her in a very tight hug. Aurora hugged her tightly, not letting go as tears formed in her eyes. "Thank Goodness that you're safe," she breathed out in a shaky voice. "I was so worried when I couldn't find you in the club. I thought… I thought something bad had happened to you." Alexandra patted Aurora's back feeling bad that she had caused her friend so much worry. " I tried to look for you but the club was in chaos. I'm sorry for making you worry, I'm so sorry," She murmured, her words muffled by Aurora's shoulder. "You took too long in the bathroom" Releasing Alexandra from her killer, Aurora chuckled. "I must have drank so much last night" She said, rubbing her temple. "I passed out in the toilet. When I woke up, I saw that the who club was trashed and empty and I tried calling you but you didn't answer" "...so I called my boyfriend who came to pick me up." She continued. " And he told me about the gunshots that broke out in the club last night which only made me more worried about you. I thought that you were shot or something" Aurora smiled as her expression softened. "I'm fine," She replied. "And I'm glad that you're fine too. Let's just hope your next birthday doesn't end up this way again" They both laughed as they entered the apartment with Aurora entering first and then Alexandra who turned on the light to illuminate the dim room. Alexandra wasn't lucky enough to get the apartment that was closer to the gate making her apartment dark most of the time. Turning to Alexandra, Aurora gasped. "Alex! What are you wearing?" Aurora asked with surprise as she stared at Alexandra with wide eyes. Alexandra looked at Aurora equally in surprise as she didn't understand why she's reacting like that. She examined her dress to make sure that it didn't have a stain or a tear on it. "Uhm.. I'm wearing a dress, come on it's just a dress" Alexandra replied in a soft voice trying to sound cool. Aurora stared at Alexandra like she had grown a second head. Alexandra was worried that her friend's eyeballs might pop out from how wide she opened them. "What! What do you mean just a dress?" Aurora's voice echoed in the room, her tone showing the disbelief in it. "For your information, that's not just a dress okay, That's a very high fashion piece from La Belleza de la Noche collection," Alexandra was surprised that her friend has knowledge of such high fashion dresses because she knew her friend can't afford a piece like that. Alexandra told Aurora what had happened last night while leaving out the part that she had met Luca before and also leaving out his name. "How did you know about such an exquisite clothing collection?" Alexandra asked, looking at Aurora with questioning eyes. "My…my boyfriend got me a dress from her collection" Alexandra's eyes widened slightly at Aurora's words. She had never met Aurora's boyfriend, all she knew was that Aurora really loved her boyfriend very much. "Wow Rory, I didn't know that your boyfriend was very rich" Alexandra said with surprise in her voice. Aurora eyes flickered around as she looked uncomfortable as though she was considering her next word. "He…he had to save for months to get it for me after I told him that I liked it" Alexandra smiled at her dropping the topic even though there was this nagging feeling at the back of her head that told her that Aurora was hiding something. The atmosphere in the room changed to a slightly awkward one as they both stood in the middle of the room staring at each other before Alexandra excused herself to change out of her dress. "I'm glad that you're fine, Alex. I better start going. I have to go to work tomorrow so I need plenty of rest" Aurora said as she hugged Alex before bidding her goodbye. Once Aurora was gone, Alexandra dropped on the couch, the tiredness from last night finally catching up to her. Her eyes were about to close shut when her phone dinged with a new message. Picking the phone up,she noticed that it was from an unsaved number. The words read: "I'd like to take you on a date, blushing fairy" A small smile made its way on her lips as she read the message but then the logical part of her took over making her smile replaced by a frown. She reminded herself that Luca and her weren't from the same social status. "He looks like he's from an old money family and I'm from a no money family" She murmured to herself. A part of her wanted to ignore the message and go on with her normal life of working shifts to pay her bills but a bigger part of her wanted to go on this date before going back to her normal life. She quickly typed out her reply saying that she'd love to go on a date and then she turned off her phone, scared that she might delete the message. "Alexandra, you'll only hurt yourself" —–— Somewhere else in a very grand restaurant, Luca sat alone at a private table enjoying a glass of luxurious red wine. His dark Armani suit accentuated his powerful build making him have a cold and detached aura. He sipped his wine elegantly, his lips set in a fine line. Then he heard the sound of high heels clicking against the marble floor of the restaurant. He looked up to see a very beautiful woman cat walking towards his table. His expression hardened at her sight as irritation marred his feature which he didn't bother to hide. He continued with his wine not saying a word to her. "Hello Luca," The woman said, her voice buttery to the ear as she sat down on the seat opposite of Luca. "Hello," he replied in a neutral tone, his eyes having a bored expression in them. The woman didn't seem the slightest bit offended by his demeanor. She smiled at him as she poured herself a glass of wine not asking him if she should. "This place is so beautiful, don't you think?" She asked as her eyes scanned the restaurant before settling back on him. "What a beautiful place for our date" "This is not a date, Adele"Adele's lips pulled up in a wide smile at his words. "I don't care what you call it, it's a date to me," She said in a confident tone, her eyes admiring the beauty before it. "I'm just glad that you thought that it's a good idea for us to bond before we finally get married" Luca signaled for a waiter to get another bottle of wine. When the waiter returned with the bottle and poured a glass for him he finally spoke. " That's why I called you here. You have to tell your father that you're no longer interested in this marriage"Her eyes hardened as she glared at Luca, her face devoid of any emotion as she responded, " I'm not going to do that"Luca's cool gaze was fixed on her face with indifference as he spoke in a steady voice. "You weren't given an option," He said in an unwavering tone." I'm not calling off this marriage Luca, you'll get married to me and that's final" Adele retorted, not shrinking under his intimidating eyes."I really don't want to make a big deal from this so you
Alexandra sat in the very high class restaurant as she waited for Luca. He had sent his driver to pick her up and bring her here. The restaurant was so fancy with a very serene atmosphere. A week ago, Alexandra didn't think that she'd step foot into a fancy restaurant like this today but here she was.She observed the place subtly taking in the magnificent setting. A waiter had asked her what she wanted to eat but she decided to wait for Luca to make the order. The restaurant was empty except for her and the staff. She was glad that no one was around because she was feeling a little self conscious about herself.Hearing footsteps approaching her, Alexandra turned to see Luca walking towards her. His hair was slightly tousled as though he had run his hands through them repeatedly but that didn't do anything to make him less handsome. He smiled as he noticed her looking at him which made her drop her gaze.He sat across from her, "Sorry for keeping you waiting, something…important came
In the dark corner of the driveway, two tall figures hid in the shadows. One of them visibly angry and the other calm as he stared at the enraged man. He clenched his fist as he glared at his friend."What the f**k,Russo?" He said through clenched teeth. "What the f**k was on your mind? What the f**k were you thinking?" Russo remained unfazed, his expression betraying no emotion as he remained silent, taking a huge puff of his cigarette. A punch landed on his face, the cigarettes falling from his lips to the slightly wet floor. He allowed his friend to vent his anger on him.The angry man continued with his attack on Russo, his face twisted into a snarl of anger. "I TOLD YOU TO CHILL THE F**K OUT" he said loudly with each punch. " We needed to keep him off our tail for now and you decide to pull this crazy stunt now"Russo, who had had enough, pushed him away. His nose was bloody from the attack. The huge scar on his face glinted under the dim light as he took a few steps away from hi
"Good night,Mira" Alexandra waved goodbye to her coworker as she made her way towards the path that led to the bus stop. She checked the phone on her phone and saw that it was five minutes past nine. "I need to hurry home before the wicked lady locks me out" She muttered under her breath as she clutched the strap of her bag closer to her shoulder. Alexandra always tried to get home early because her landlady gave a curfew but today, the restaurant had lots of customers making them close late. Alexandra is a twenty-one year old graduate of international relations but due to some circumstances, she works in a little end family diner. She lives alone after her parents cut off ties from her after she refused to marry an old man who they insisted she marry. "Music to calm my nerves down" She said but decided against it as she was in a dangerous neighborhood and it was advisable to be on guard. Alexandra flinched with every sound she heard. A news story came out last year that a you
After what felt like an eternity but was actually about thirty minutes, Alexandra finally got closer to her apartment building. She would have gotten home much earlier if not for the injured man she was supporting with her hand. She felt like her body was about to give out. From the distance, she noticed the security guard standing at the gate eating something. He had the habit of sneaking out to eat his snacks so that his co-workers wouldn't stop him because he has a junk eating problem. She increased her pace so that she'd get to him before he entered inside. It was way past her curfew and she didn't want to encounter Mrs Smithson, her landlady who had the habit of acting like a security camera."Hi, Good evening sir" Alexandra said in an overly sweet voice which made her wince internally. "Please can you open the gate…my friend here is seriously injured" She continued, looking up to her landlady's window but luckily her lights were out. The guard glared at her as he was trying to enj
Luca's men opened the door to reveal a small, barely lit room with a man strapped to a seat in the corner. The flimsy underpant he wore did nothing to cover his dignity. His face and body was covered in horrible bruises of different colors. Luca walked into the room, taking the seat opposite of the man. He stared at the man with menacing eyes as he spoke in a dark, low voice, "I must say you're really tough but too bad I'm not here for games, I hope you're ready to talk" The man threw his head back as he laughed hysterically before looking straight into Luca's eyes with defiance crossing his face. " I don't care what you do to me but I'm not saying a fucking word" he shouted in a hoarse voice. He tried to spit on Luca's face but due to the distance between them the saliva landed on the floor.Luca stood up, circling his seat before coming to stand in front of him. "I've heard that line so many times from people like you but do you want to know what's funny?" He asked in a low, dangero
Alexandra walked into her apartment, turning on the light to illuminate the dark room. She still felt disoriented from the stranger's earlier. She didn't know if she should be happy that he remembered her or scared that he did. She threw her key inside a bowl and proceeded to remove her shoes. She couldn't help but let her mind drift to the strange man. He was a very hard man to forget. Alexandra was not one to swoon over handsome faces but something about this man ignited this spark of attraction in her.The way his hair was combed, the slight scruff on his jaw which added a raw edge to his look and those intense brown eyes that seemed like it was staring right into her soulShe was about to remove the second shoe when something on her table caught her eyes. Walking closer she noticed a tiny wrapped gift and a note on it. "How did this get here?" She muttered under her breath as she picked it up examining the gift. Opening the note, she recognized the familiar handwriting immediately
Luca intentionally arrived late to the family dinner which didn't surprise his father. Luca has always found a way to go against him in one way or another. Ever since he found out that his father cheated on his mother when he was just seven,he vowed to have nothing to do with him and tried not to become like his father. His mother greeted him at the door with a welcoming smile on her lips."Good evening Mom" He greeted placing a soft kiss on her forehead. His father on the other hand didn't even spare him a glance. The tension in the air was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. "Luca baby, I made your favorite," Luca's mom said, trying to ease the awkwardness in the room. She stood up to dish out his food but he stopped her. "Don't worry Mom, I'll do it myself" He could sense his father's gaze on him from time to time but he chose to ignore him. His Mom asked him his work and how it has been but he replied curtly trying to keep his response short. He disliked his Mom's easy
