Brooklyn later realized why Dimitri had agreed to let him do whatever he wanted that night—Dimitri wasn't even home at night.

"Where's he gone?" Brooklyn asked Heather.

She shook her head with a smile. "I might be Mr. Wood's secretary, but he doesn't need to keep me updated on his whereabouts."

"Oh." Brooklyn was disappointed. He silently cursed Dimitri for being a liar. He returned to the room, thinking about watching some TV, which was about the only thing he could do.

It was rare for him to have so much free time that he had no idea what to do now that he didn't have anything to rush.

As he stared at the TV, he couldn't help feeling a little lonely. Did all the children of affluent families lead such boring lives?

Brooklyn suddenly understood why the upper crust liked picking on people from the underground level. They didn't have anything better to do and had to look for something to pass the time.
