"I still stand by my decision, though. I like Zachary," Dimitri said. He placed a hand on Brooklyn's shoulder. "Thanks for coming over to teach him etiquette today, but don't bother teaching him things that don't matter. Don't bother saying meaningless things, either."

Lorraine was so angry that she couldn't speak. When she saw him put a finger to his lip to shush her, she took a deep breath and snarled, "You're definitely going to embarrass yourself if you bring him to the banquet with you tonight. He knows nothing! You're better off taking me."

Brooklyn stiffened at that. He subconsciously tugged on Dimitri's sleeve, wanting to say something. However, before he could, Dimitri said, "That won't do. I'm going to bring Zachary with me, no matter what."

"Your family doesn't like him, either, right? Someone like me, who comes from an affluent family, is much better compared to him. His family is basically middle-class compared to mine," Lorraine said bluntly. "I'm your best choice."
