Chapter 64

Alex’s pov

Instead of landing on Sarah's cheek, my raised and swinging hand was caught by someone who suddenly appeared between us.

"What are you doing?" Holding my wrist, Ethan looked at me sharply, his eyes glancing intently at me.

I could feel his hand tightly gripping my wrist until it felt like the blood in my hand couldn't flow. "Let go!" I spoke to him without hesitation.

Ignoring his gaze, which had always bothered me, every time I saw him, I remembered my grandfather's face, who always stared at me flatly with no interest. Both he and my grandfather always made me feel annoyed and unappreciated. They were both the same person, with equally unpleasant mannerisms.

I had always ignored him, considering him not part of the family, which I used to do because I didn't want to be involved with him. But this time, I didn't need to feel awkward with him. He had intruded into my life, so I would not hesitate to do so as well.

"I said, let go of my hand!" I threw his hand away from me.
