Emily’s Pov'

I glanced at my phone screen before I got out of the car and became even more annoyed when I saw no notification from Alex. "He didn't look for or ask for me at all," I grumbled in annoyance, exiting the car and walking into the house across the courtyard. "He must still not have finished choosing which item to gift Sarah."

Thinking about it again, I became even more upset. He was now so quickly indifferent to me.

"What's with that face of yours? Why do you look upset?" Mom, who was about to walk past me, suddenly sat with me on the living room chair in the living room. "What's wrong with you?" She asked with concern.

While I didn't choose to directly answer her question, I twisted my body where I was sitting in annoyance, then looked in the other direction, unfocused while sighing. "It's because of Alex."
