Alex's pov

"I can't believe that Sarah is married to Ethan."

I glanced at the window of the cafe as I heard Sarah's name being mentioned, I wasn't sure which Sarah they were talking about, but the name caught my attention. Something in that string of names had repeatedly intrigued me and stopped me from doing what I was doing.

Several times, it happened, and I couldn't control it. I couldn't ignore it and tried not to listen, even though sometimes the news wasn't pleasant, but I listened anyway. Strangely I didn't avoid it and instead seemed curious about what happened to her.

"Which part don't you believe? The part about her getting married, or the part about her marrying a wonderful man." The laughter that followed that remark sounded familiar with a figure that I'm sure she didn't even know in person.
