Chapter 17

Veronica’s POV

I need to clear my mind and get some clearance. The things that happened the night before lingered like a heavy fog in my mind. It messed around with my thoughts and emotions. The only thing I could think of to do, was to take a walk through the garden. A type of sanctuary to calm the chaos roaming in my mind.

As I stepped into the garden, the smell of freshly bloomed flowers made its way to my nose. It made me take a deeper breath. Each step deeper into the garden felt like a piece of burden falling to the ground. The sunrise of the early morning casted shadows over the flowers, making them even more of a beautiful sight.

The garden felt like a mase. It looked and felt like it stretched for miles, then my attention was drawn to a fountain. It was placed in the middle of the garden. Its gentle sound of water was a soothing melody. I found a spot to sit on the edge of the fountain. I let the cool marble soothe my body.
