Chapter 61

Kit’s POV With hundreds of papers scattered from one end of my father’s study to the other, and on our second pot of coffee, we had finally pieced it all together what was legally happening, but we still didn’t know why my sister’s mate needed my father’s estate and his wealth, since his company wasn’t showing a loss in Dom’s data base. It was obvious that he was trying to hide something, but the question was what. Ms. Caroline had said that he was in trouble with the wrong people, and I had to wonder if this was something personal, he had going on the side from his business. I knew what Ms. Caroline told me was just gossip that she had heard from other pack members, but there had to be some truth to it. The problem was to find out who these people were, because even though my sister had done my father wrong, I was still worried about her and her children’s lives being in harm’s way. “None of this makes sense why he would need your fathe

Chapter 62

Kit’s POV Dom’s eyes remained gazing down at me, as if he was in an internal battle with himself to do the right thing too, which we both knew was to walk away at this moment before anything happened between the two of us, at least that was what I was trying to convince my own self of. But his eyes now full of lust and desire for me, were like a beaconing call to the bond I still felt towards him, egging me to explore what could have been with him. Dom slowly leaned down towards me, and my heart began to beat out of my chest, with the thought of him kissing me. My breath then hitched as he neared me, and I closed my eyes waiting for his lips to graze acrost my own, but they never came.Instead, I felt his warm breath against the crook of my neck, sending shivers throughout my entire body, before his warm breath traveled up my neck and to my ear, where he whispered to me, “Your scent is even more intoxicating to me than it was before. Something has chang

Chapter 63

Dom’s POV My phone was vibrating in my pocket as I stripped my pants off, but I didn’t care, because all that mattered at this moment was being with Kit, whether it was just for one night. Now that she was allowing herself to show me her true desire still for me, I had to have this moment in time with her. It had been a brutal seven years without her in my life, and I needed to feel the way she made me feel even if it was just for this one last time. My heart had been cold since the day that I walked away from her at the cabin, but once my eyes laid on her the other day, I felt it begin to beat once again, making me long to be with her. Now seeing her laid out on her bed in front of me like my last supper, I knew that I couldn’t walk away without devouring her and filling myself with the love we shared for each other. All my efforts of forcing Kit to come back home, I now knew were wrong on my behalf, because I knew in my heart that I co

Chapter 64

Kit’s POV A gasp slipped from my lips, as Dom’s body and my own became one, and my soul felt like it was whole once again. Seven years of being without his love came crashing back to me with a fury, and my emotions of being with him like this now overwhelmed me, as time began to feel like it was standing still, giving us this moment in time together. Dom stilled within me as his eyes gazed down at me, while he gave my body time to adjust to his invasion of it. But as he stared down at me, I could see something different than just lust and desire in his eyes, and it was the love that I knew he still had for me, a love that would never be able to bloom. It was killing me seeing this in his eyes, because it was everything that I had dreamt of seeing from him once again, but I knew he had only promised me this one night, and that was all that I could give him too. My heart felt heavy at that moment, knowing that our love would never be, but we had right no

Chapter 65

Kit’s POV The sound of the doorbell ringing awoke me, after I had finally fallen asleep in the early hours of the morning. At first, I pulled a pillow over my head thinking that someone else could get it, but then I remembered that I was the only one now here. Grabbing my robe, I quickly slipped it on, before I headed downstairs to see who was continuously ringing it. My biggest mistake was answering the door without looking to see who it was. As I opened the door, the men on the other side pushed the door open with force, making me step back quickly, as I stared at two huge men making there way into my father’s home. “What do you want?” I asked them, pulling my robe tighter around my body, not wanting to expose any of my flesh to them. The bigger of the two men chuckled before he said, “You made a grave mistake messing with our boss, and we were sent here to send you a message to back off.” “I think you h

Chapter 66

Dom’s POV After the pack doctor insured me that Kit would be okay, I had the two men that assaulted her to deal with. They would pay dearly for laying their hands on my mate, and so would their boss.I should have known after I had spoken to her father’s lawyer that I should have put protection detail on her, but I never thought that they would come for her. I was the one digging into the estate not her, but I should have known that they would have gone after her, sending a message to me, a message that I had heard loud and clear, and that they would all pay with their lives for. After leaving Kit last night like I had, I found myself not able to go home, or sleep and ended up in my office at the Town Hall. There I spent the rest of my night digging into the dealings of Kit’s brother-in-law, where I had found him doing dealings with individuals that my father had band from our territory. With further digging, I also found out that these individuals were investors of hi

Chapter 67

Dom’s POV It had been a long ass morning and with my lack of sleep, I desperately needed a cup of coffee if I was going to make it through the rest of the day and everything that needed to be done to ensure Kit’s safety. Remembering my way around the house, I made my way to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee, knowing that Ms. Caroline would probably be with Kit for awhile before she came downstairs. As the coffee perked, I couldn’t help but to notice a plate of Ms. Caroline’s cookies sitting on the counter, and I had to chuckle knowing that Kit had been holding out on me last night. Snatching my favorite cookie from the plate, I went to pop it in my mouth, when I felt eyes on me, and turned to see the little Alpha staring at me. “Can I help you get something?” I asked the little Alpha, as I realized that he was no longer staring at me but the cookie in my hand. The little Alpha’s eyes moved back to me, once I spoke to hi

Chapter 68

Kit’s POV The feeling of a cool cloth on my face startled me awake, as my eyes focused on Ms. Caroline standing over me. “Easy child. I felt a fever coming on, and I am just trying to bring it down before it escalates.” She said to me with kindness in her eyes, and I let myself relax back onto my pillow, knowing that it was her, and that she was trying to help me. My nerves were on edge with what had happened earlier, and I found myself uneasy, but knowing that Ms. Caroline was here, I knew that I was in good hands. “I never thought that they would come for you.” Ms. Caroline says as she pulls the cloth from my head, and puts it in a basin of water, I am sure to cool it back off.“I was more concerned about your sister and her children’s wellbeing. I never would have thought they would have come for you. I should have insisted on staying on staff.” Ms. Caroline now says to me, as if she was taking responsibility for what had happened to me, but I was ha

Chapter 69

Kit’s POV A few days had passed, and physically my body was healing, but my heart remained shattered. I had hidden in my room for the last couple of days, sulking in my sorrows of losing Dom from my life once again, not knowing if I was going to ever be able to recover from it this time.If it wasn’t for Damian constantly checking up on me, I didn’t know if I would ever have the strength to leave this bed again, but I knew that I had to pull myself together for him. Damian was all that I truly had left of Dom in my life, and he was the greatest gift the Moon Goddess could have ever given me, since I was destine never to be with my fated mate. At least I would always have a part of Dom with me, and our son would always be a reminder to me of the love that we once shared. Making my way gingerly down the stairs, knowing that I needed some fresh air, I was greeted at the bottom of the stairs by Ms. Caroline. “I am so happy to see you up and moving this morning. I can get

Chapter 70

Kit’s POV Trying to put my best game face on, I smiled at Luna Rebeca, before I said to her, “Luna Rebeca, it is a pleasure to see you. I would stand to welcome you, but as you can see, I am a bit unwell.” “I heard you were attacked in your own home, and I came to make sure that you are alright. I am sorry that this happened on our territory, and Dom has given me his word that he has sent his men to protect you for the rest of your duration of your stay with us.” Luna Rebeca said to me, with what sounded like sincerity in her voice, but her eyes were telling me a different story, and I realized quickly I wasn’t the only one putting a show on. “Would you like a cup of tea, Luna Rebeca?” Ms. Caroline asks her, and Luna Rebeca quickly says, “No thank you, I am just here because I would like a moment with Luna Katrina alone.”Ms. Caroline’s eyes quickly moved to mine, and I nodded my head telling her it was okay, before I turned my attention
