Marcus POV

I stood at the entrance of the hospital, quietly waiting for Roberta's appearance. The complex emotions in my heart kept surging. I forced myself to remain calm and looked around expressionlessly.

When Roberta left Crescent Moon Pack, I wasn't surprised. But I also wasn't worried about what would happen at all. I knew she had nowhere to go. The shackles on her were more than she could imagine. She might run away, but she would eventually come back.

So I chose to let her be there for a while.

"Even I can't understand you anymore," Dixon suddenly spoke. This was the first time I'd heard his voice since the last time we talked. He wasn't dissatisfied with me; it was just that the connection between us was also weakening. I knew very well that this was the result of my destroying the mate bond.

"Stop talking," I sighed. "You should know what I'm thinking."
