Chapter 18

Marcus POV

Moonlight like water, sprinkled in the forest every inch of the ground. In the dark, the shadows of the trees dwindle, Roberta and I face each other as we take on Wolf form, like two fierce beasts destined to fight to the death. Rage and instinct were mixed together. I could hardly hear my own heartbeat and only felt the hostility coming towards me.

I growled lowly and lunged at Roberta fiercely. My teeth were shining coldly, aiming at her throat. She swiftly sidestepped, and her sharp claws drew a bloody scratch on my shoulder. The pain stimulated my nerves like an electric current, but it also made me realize the crazy thing we were doing.

"Marcus, stop!" Her voice pierced through the rage in my mind, carrying both command and plea.
