Roberta POV

In this way, I was dragged back to the pack house by Marcus, and the despair and anger in my heart came like a flood along the way. Marcus locked me in my room and warned me not to try to escape again. After he left, I sat on the bed and my tears began to flow uncontrollably. Alston's death and Marcus's callousness caused me great pain and despair.

A few days later, I overheard Zora talking to the guards in the hallway. Zora is now like a Luna in the pack, and now I'm like air in the eyes of everyone. She used her close relationship with Marcus to boss everyone around her. That day, as I lay in bed, I overheard Zora whispering to the guards at my door.

"Marcus is investigating her. You must keep your mouth shut." It was Zora's voice, a little tense and low.

"Rest assured, no one but you and Marcus knows about the existence of that strictly confidential room." The guard's answer was short and firm.
