Chapter 13

Roberta POV

Ever since that day when I passed out after seeing Marcus, I haven't been out much. There were a lot more attacks in the Pack, and the number of injured werewolves gradually increased, and Alston could no longer accompany me all day as before, and he had to go to the hospital every day.

I always felt that this had something to do with Marcus, and my heart was full of anxiety and doubt. Over the past few days, my father, Aaron, had been in a state that was vaguely troubling to me. He seemed weaker than ever, his face pale, his eyes tired.

"Roberta," my father's voice said from behind me, and I turned to see him walking slowly toward me. His step was still firm, but I could see that he was trying to hide his discomfort.

"Father," I said, approaching him and looking anxiously at him, "you don't look well. Do you need a rest?"

My father shook his head and forced a smile. "I'm fine, Roberta. It's just pack business."
