Chapter 11

Roberta POV

Alston took me back to the Twilight Pack from the hospital, silent and seemingly thinking. I sat quietly beside him, full of contradiction and confusion. When I entered the Twilight Pack, I felt a familiar and strange atmosphere, a place where I used to live, but now with different emotions.

Alston led me to my own room, which was almost identical to the one I had lived in, and seemed to be cleaned every day. It was simple and comfortable. He motioned for me to sit down, walked to the window, looked out into the distance for a long time, and then said, "Roberta, your condition is worse than I thought."

I listened in silence, expecting it, but it made me feel heavy to hear him say it himself.
