CHAPTER 60

Connor and I traveled far enough away from the castle that no one would know where we were hiding out.

When we got to a small town in the middle of nowhere, we went into a diner and the locals were watching us.

I was guessing they didn’t have too many visitors in this town, but we sat at a booth and the waitress walked over.

“Can we have a couple of coffees.” Connor said.

“Sure thing.” She said. And she went back over to the counter.

“I don’t know how private this conversation is going to be.” I said, looking around at everyone staring at us.

“I know. We’re just going to hear him out and then leave. We’ve got people watching the place in case it is a trap.” Connor said.

“I know.” I said.

The waitress came back with our coffee and I could see her staring at Connor and I sat there glaring at her.

As soon as she saw me, she looked away. And she went back to the counter as fast as she could.
