CONNOR POV It didn’t take Aurora or myself long to fall asleep that night. We’d spent most of the day traveling so we were pretty tired. But I wish it had stayed like that. In the early hours of the morning I was woken by Aurora screaming. It scared the hell out of me and I turned to look at her and she was thrashing around on her side of the bed, sweat pouring off of her. I grabbed her shoulders and tried to wake her. Whatever this nightmare was, it was definitely a bad one. And I had been there after she’d had a few bad nightmares. But nothing like this. I shook her several times and called her name, but I got no response. She wasn’t responding to me at all. I tried to sit her up, but she was really limp in my arms. I ran to the door and flew it open with so much force that it almost came off the hinges and I started screaming for Miles. He came running into our room, with a few people following, but they stayed outside the door. Miles tried to help me wake her up.
Peyton started waving her hands around and chanting in a strange language. I couldn’t understand what she was saying and she was speaking so softly that it was almost impossible for me to hear with my werewolf hearing. But she grabbed some powder out of a bowl and started sprinkling that over Aurora’s body while still chanting. I noticed Peyton’s breathing was getting a little labored and she was struggling. It was using all of her energy to do this spell but she didn’t need a book or anything to do what she was doing. She knew the spell all along. She just chose not to do it because she didn’t think she could. That’s what pissed me off the most. She was going to let her daughter suffer without even trying. I wasn’t going to hate her if she couldn’t do it, but the fact that she wasn’t going to try is what really pissed me off more. All because she obviously didn’t have any confidence in herself or her abilities. She claims that she doesn’t have many powers, I believe that she
I looked back at Aurora and the red witch was still doing some sort of spell on her and I started charging towards her, fully intent on making her stop. I didn’t know what she was doing and I was scared for Aurora. Not because she was a witch, I know that a lot of witches can be really nice people. But this red witch has a reputation like the black witch. I didn’t want her here. I tried to stop the red witch from going any further but Carter stood in the way and stopped me. “Get the fuck out of my way Carter.” I growled. “Alpha. I’m sorry. You know that I wouldn’t do this normally, but you have to trust us. We wouldn’t do anything to hurt our Luna. She is going to stop this hex. She knows how to.” Carter insisted. “She’s going to kill her. I don’t trust her.” I yelled. “But Stacy does. And Stacy has never done anything to hurt this pack. She’s one of the most loyal followers you have.” Carter said. “I don’t care. That’s my mate on that bed.” I yelled. “Please. Just let h
AURORA’S POV I sat there staring at the red witch while Connor was still right in front of me. He was looking between her and me. He knew that there was something going on here. I was still a little confused. I was stuck in a burning room with no way out and now I was in my bedroom, like I had just woken up from a bad dream or something. Only it wasn’t a dream. And there are people surrounding me and the red witch. Why the hell would the red witch be here if it was just a dream? “Yes, Aurora. You do know me.” She said, taking her hood off of her face. “She’s the red witch. Everyone knows her.” Connor said. “Scarlett.” I said. “It’s very good to see you again, Aurora. I knew you would get out of that house eventually.” She said. “Yeah. With no help from you.” I growled. “You know that I couldn’t help you.” She said. “You were my friend.” I said. “Hold on. How the hell do you two know each other? She’s not a werewolf.” Connor said. “Dad brought her to the house when
Connor and I spent some time in our room talking. I was trying to wrap my head around what had happened to me and Connor was trying to understand everything that happened to me in the burning room. It made sense with all the screaming that I was doing but he said that it didn’t even seem real. So when we finally went downstairs to find everyone else, they were all in the sitting room on the bottom floor of the castle. Scarlett was still there, since Connor told her not to go anywhere and she said that she wanted to stay and help us fight my father. I knew that she didn’t like my father, but I didn’t know how she felt about going up against her sister. “Are you feeling better?” Stacy asked. “Yeah. I guess.” I said. “Do you want something to eat? I can get you something.” Miles said. “No. I’m fine. I’m not hungry.” I said. I sat on one of the chairs in the room and I was staring at Scarlett the whole time. “You said that you wanted to stay here and help us. I know that
So Connor explained the whole situation with the barriers which will stop anyone from seeing them if they don’t want them to. It will keep dad and the black witch away from them. And I went to find Scarlett. I told her about the situation and at first she was pissed. “I can’t believe that bitch is still going on about that portal. She’s been wanting to open that thing for 20 years.” Scarlett said. “Well, she’s found a way to do it. And now we need to protect as many wolves as possible. Can you go with them and put up barriers around their packs?” I asked. “What about your training?” She asked. “I’ll train on my own from what I learnt today. And we’ll pick up when you get back. It’s either that or these Alpha’s are going to bring their entire packs here, who won’t fit in the castle because there will be thousands upon thousands of wolves and that will give our location away because they will be all through these woods.” I said. “Alright. I’ll go back to their packs with the
We made sure that our warriors were ready in case we had to move at any moment and we called in all of our allies and told them what was going on. In case we needed back up. I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Scarlett to get back to me so I went to the back balcony that looked straight out onto the ocean. I was leaning against the brick fencing of sorts that was around the garden at the back of the castle while I was looking at the water and I felt someone walk up behind me. “Lurking around isn’t earning you any brownie points.” I said. “I know. I’m not trying to earn any brownie points.” Peyton said. “Then what are you doing?” I asked. “Just watching. Watching you and the person that you’ve become.” She said. “Well, it’s definitely not thanks to you.” I said. “I know. It was Connor. I’ve seen the way that he is with you. He’s very protective but you don’t need protecting. So, I’m guessing that’s just left over from when he found you.” She guessed. “Proba
We got set up in Portland and I saw that the pack was located about an hour out of the city. I didn’t even know that my father owned property around this part of the country. But that didn’t really surprise me. I didn’t know anything about that man. And I didn’t even know anything about myself until I left his pack. Connor sent scouts to check out the pack before we attempted anything and we just had to wait at the hotel where we were staying until they checked in with us. “Are you alright?” Connor asked, coming back into the suite. “Yeah. I’m good. How’s the rest of the pack? Are they ready?” I asked. “Yeah. But they’re always ready.” He said. “I guess you trained them that way.” I said. Connor walked over and sat on the bed next to me and grabbed a hold of my hand while I was staring out the window. “Are you ready for this? You haven’t seen your father since. And you didn’t practice much with Scarlett.” “Honestly, I don’t think I need it. I just needed to know that
