CHAPTER 68

We made sure that our warriors were ready in case we had to move at any moment and we called in all of our allies and told them what was going on. In case we needed back up.

I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Scarlett to get back to me so I went to the back balcony that looked straight out onto the ocean.

I was leaning against the brick fencing of sorts that was around the garden at the back of the castle while I was looking at the water and I felt someone walk up behind me.

“Lurking around isn’t earning you any brownie points.” I said.

“I know. I’m not trying to earn any brownie points.” Peyton said.

“Then what are you doing?” I asked.

“Just watching. Watching you and the person that you’ve become.” She said.

“Well, it’s definitely not thanks to you.” I said.

“I know. It was Connor. I’ve seen the way that he is with you. He’s very protective but you don’t need protecting. So, I’m guessing that’s just left over from when he found you.” She guessed.
