AURORA’S POV As I started to regain consciousness I slowly sat up and tried to look around my surroundings to see that I was in a completely unfamiliar place. The ground underneath me was hard. It was rock. Jagged and uneven rocks. The sky above me was gray for as far as I could see. There was no sign of sunshine or of life. I slowly stood up and I started looking around, only to see a large volcano in the not so far distance. As soon as we started approaching their camp, I could tell that we were getting close. I could hear a lot more noise and children playing. It wasn’t what I expected. Once we came out of the treeline, I saw where they lived. It was a beautiful, magical looking place. There were no houses, but everyone around there looked happy next to the lake with a waterfall. Flowers that I had never seen before. They even moved on their own. Trees that engulfed the whole area like a large canopy with the sun shining through it wherever it could. It was a beautiful place and I was in awe as soon as I saw it. I was awake at first light, but I wasn’t the only one. A few of the others were as well. The women that were responsible for cooking for the clan. They were up and had a head start on things. I just got up and started helping them because I had nothing else to do. I could tell that they were a little uncomfortable with me helping, not wanting the Queen to do any menial labor, but I was used to working like this. So I really didn’t mind. When I walked out of the cavern Thaddeus and his soldiers were standing there, anxiously waiting. “The last he heard, she was staying with someone by the name of Madea.” I said. “He just told you that?” Maximus asked. “No. I threw him on the bar and threatened to kill him without laying a finger on him. I wasn’t sure how long I was unconscious for, but when I started to wake up I could tell that it was still daylight. I couldn’t have been unconscious for that long. “Hello Queenie.” A deep rumbling voice said, coming up behind me. MILES POV I had successfully merged William’s pack with Connor’s pack and they were making themselves useful at the castle now. They weren’t causing any static and the ones that were still loyal to William were either killed or locked in the dungeon of the castle. And the dungeon in the castle is no laughing matter. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was massive and there was no way anyone was ever going to be getting out of that place on their own. But that didn’t matter. We still had guards posted, just in case. I made sure that all of the pack business had been seen to when I decided to head back to Oregon and I went straight to that field where Aurora had disappeared. I had let things go for a couple more weeks and I was running the pack as I knew Connor would. We were back to rescuing people but the biggest issue at the moment was trying to find places to put them all. The village was making great progress and a lot of families had already moved into the apartments that had been built. But we were still getting reports of abuse that couldn’t be ignored and I was constantly sending more and more teams out to save the abused. I decided that it was time again to go and see Connor. To see if anything had changed with him. I didn’t have high hopes, but I knew that I wasn’t going to give up on him. He was the best friend that I knew and he saved my life more times than I could count. So I wasn’t going to give up on him now. AURORA’S POV I could still hear the screaming coming from the giants and see the flames and smoke pouring out from above the trees as I walked away with the Pegasus’. I tried as hard as possible not to look back and see what I had done, but it was hard with their screams getting louder and them softer. I suddenly woke up in a cold sweat and jolted up. I looked around to see Thaddeus and his soldiers were still asleep in the field that we had found to camp in for the night. I could see the sun coming up just over the hills in the distance so I stood up and stretched before I started walking around a little. “Another nightmare?” Someone asked behind me. So I turned around and Maximus was laying on the ground looking at me. “How can you tell?” I asked. “I’m a light sleeper.
