When I walked out of the cavern Thaddeus and his soldiers were standing there, anxiously waiting. “The last he heard, she was staying with someone by the name of Madea.” I said. “He just told you that?” Maximus asked. “No. I threw him on the bar and threatened to kill him without laying a finger on him. That was after he attacked me with an electric bolt. Anyway, that doesn’t matter. Who’s Madea?” I asked. “She’s evil.” Thaddeus said. “Yeah. I already figured that much out.” I said. “She’s a Queen in this land. An evil Queen.” He said. “Is there any other kind in these sorts of realms?” I asked. “I wasn’t aware that the black witch was associated with her.” He said. “Well, she is. At least, she is now. How far is it to her place?” I asked. “At least a day’s walk from here.” He said. “Alright. We better get moving.” I said, walking back into the forest with all of the Pegasus soldiers following me. They could see that I was on a mission now. And I hoped that they
I wasn’t sure how long I was unconscious for, but when I started to wake up I could tell that it was still daylight. I couldn’t have been unconscious for that long. “Hello Queenie.” A deep rumbling voice said, coming up behind me. I turned my head from where I was tied up on the ground to see one of the giants sitting right behind me. “What do you want from me?” I asked. “Nothing.” He said. “Obviously you want something.” I said. “You were trespassing on our land.” He said. “From what I hear, you weren’t even supposed to be here.” I said. “Well, thanks to you bringing the black witch to Avalon, a lot of things have changed.” He said. “Where’s Thaddeus?” I asked, looking around. “He’s a little tied up right now.” The giant smirked at me. “I didn’t mean to bring the black witch here. We are on our way to find her so I can kill her.” I said. He and his friends burst out laughing, like it was the funniest thing they had ever heard. “What the hell makes you think yo
MILES POV I had successfully merged William’s pack with Connor’s pack and they were making themselves useful at the castle now. They weren’t causing any static and the ones that were still loyal to William were either killed or locked in the dungeon of the castle. And the dungeon in the castle is no laughing matter. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. It was massive and there was no way anyone was ever going to be getting out of that place on their own. But that didn’t matter. We still had guards posted, just in case. I made sure that all of the pack business had been seen to when I decided to head back to Oregon and I went straight to that field where Aurora had disappeared. As soon as I got there, I saw a tent set up but there was no one around. I looked around the grounds for a little while but still, I couldn’t find anyone. So I sat at the front of the tent and I waited. I waited and waited until the sun was setting. “What are you doing here?” Connor asked, co
I had let things go for a couple more weeks and I was running the pack as I knew Connor would. We were back to rescuing people but the biggest issue at the moment was trying to find places to put them all. The village was making great progress and a lot of families had already moved into the apartments that had been built. But we were still getting reports of abuse that couldn’t be ignored and I was constantly sending more and more teams out to save the abused. I decided that it was time again to go and see Connor. To see if anything had changed with him. I didn’t have high hopes, but I knew that I wasn’t going to give up on him. He was the best friend that I knew and he saved my life more times than I could count. So I wasn’t going to give up on him now. When I got back to the field where Aurora had gone missing, I did a quick scan of the area before I focused on the tent. I saw Connor laying on the ground in front of the tent, not moving. I ran up to him and I could see
AURORA’S POV I could still hear the screaming coming from the giants and see the flames and smoke pouring out from above the trees as I walked away with the Pegasus’. I tried as hard as possible not to look back and see what I had done, but it was hard with their screams getting louder and them softer. I suddenly woke up in a cold sweat and jolted up. I looked around to see Thaddeus and his soldiers were still asleep in the field that we had found to camp in for the night. I could see the sun coming up just over the hills in the distance so I stood up and stretched before I started walking around a little. “Another nightmare?” Someone asked behind me. So I turned around and Maximus was laying on the ground looking at me. “How can you tell?” I asked. “I’m a light sleeper. And I know nightmares when I see them.” He said. “It’s beautiful here.” I said, looking out towards the hills. “Yeah. It’s beautiful countryside. It’s too bad there’s too many cretins roaming around.” H
Thaddeus lunged for me at the same time, I dodged out of the way and I raised my hands at the same time to protect myself. When I opened my eyes, I saw black smoke surrounding me and I wasn’t standing next to Thaddeus anymore. I was standing on the hill behind the werebears. They were now charging at Thaddeus and his soldiers and someone grabbed me from behind. “Who the hell are you?” I asked. “My name is Uther. I’m going to get you somewhere safe.” He said. “Sure. I’ve heard that before.” I said. “Mage. Give the bears a little help.” Uther yelled. And a woman emerged from behind a tree. Her eyes were gold and she stared at the animals in the field and they were all attacking Thaddeus and his soldiers. Uther then grabbed my hand and we started running down the hill until we got to the bottom and I saw some horses waiting. “Are you serious?” I asked. “Have you ever ridden a horse before?” He asked. “No.” I said. So he lifted me onto his horse and he got on it behind
As the creatures were scaling the walls of the castle, the soldiers were trying to shoot them down with their bow and arrows and they were successfully getting a lot of them, but there were more and more of them jumping across the fire lit mote. The King grabbed my hand and he pulled me back towards the door and inside the castle. We ran into a room that was full of weapons and I smelt something really familiar. I started pulling the lids off of the barrels while the King was looking at me strangely until I found the powder that I was looking for. “That’s what we use for the cannons.” He said. “It’s gunpowder. Obviously very flammable.” I said. “What do you suppose we do with it?” He asked. “We can use this. We need to get them on the roof.” I said. So he ordered some men to the storage room and they took several barrel’s to the roof and I grabbed as many cloth’s as I could find. I ripped the cloth’s up and I started filling one with gun powder and I tied it at the to
It took a little while for everyone to get ready and then they all gathered out the front of the stone wall that surrounded the castle. Everyone was getting their horses ready and Arthur walked up to me. “Come on.” Arthur said, holding his hand out. “We’re sharing a horse? I can walk.” I said. So he walked a little closer to me. “I know what Troy said to you earlier. Just because he said it, doesn’t mean I am going to act on it. I know that you are desperately trying to get home to your mate. And as you said, I don’t know you well enough to have feelings. So just ignore him. I am not going to try anything and we will get there a lot faster on horseback.” He said. “Alright. I’m sorry. I feel like an idiot right now.” I said. “Don’t. I do find you attractive. But that’s my problem, not yours.” He said. So he helped me up onto his horse and he got on behind me, grabbing the reins so he could control the damn thing. He went to the front of his soldiers and ordered them onwa
We got to the hospital in record time as soon as I went into labor and I could tell that Connor was panicking. And to tell you the truth, it was driving me crazy. I was taken straight to the birthing suite that was done up, just for me. A private room with all the perfect amenities that I didn’t ask them to do but no one would take no for an answer. And Connor wanted the best for me and his baby. As soon as we got there the doctor came to examine me and he said that this baby was in a hurry. It wasn’t going to be a very long labor at all. By the time I had to start pushing Connor was really getting under my skin. “Alright, baby. You can do this.” Connor said. “No shit. I don’t really have a fucking choice now, do I?” I yelled. “It’s alright. I know that it’s just the pain talking.” He said. “No. It isn’t. You’re pissing me off. Shut the fuck up and stop touching me. That’s what put me here in the first place.” I yelled. So he stopped touching me, but he stayed right beside
AURORA POV As soon as I came through that portal, I knew it worked and that I was home again. I came through at the same place as when I went to the other realm. And I knew my way back to the castle just fine. I started running back to the castle, but I was slower these days with the stomach weighing me down. But as soon as I started getting that really funny feeling I started pushing myself to go faster and harder. Connor was in trouble and I needed to get to him now. As soon as I got to the castle, I saw wolves running off into the forest, but Connor was at the castle. I followed my feeling and his strongest scent around to the patio, only to see him standing on it and ready to jump off of it and kill himself. I practically flew through the air to tackle him backwards onto the patio, and I hurt myself as I landed as well. It wasn’t a soft landing. I stayed there for a moment when I heard Connor get up and he gasped as soon as he saw me. I managed to get up and look
Just as I was regaining my composure from being slammed onto the stone ground of the patio I growled as I got to my feet quickly, ready to abuse and scream at whoever stopped me from getting the only release from this prison that I had been living in. But when I turned to look, I saw the blonde hair covering the face of the person that was facing away from me, laying on her side on the ground. “Aurora.” I said, almost like I didn’t believe it. She turned her face to look at me, her bright blue eyes shining in the moonlight, looking straight at me. I dove on the ground next to her and wrapped her in my arms. I felt all over her back and her hair and the side of her face, just to make sure that she was real. “Is it really you?” I asked. “Of course it’s me.” She said. She slowly started getting up, but I noticed that she was having trouble. And that’s when I noticed her swollen stomach. “Oh my god.” I said. “How long have I been gone?” She asked. “You don’t know?” I ask
CONNOR POV I was laying in bed next to an empty vodka bottle when someone started banging on my bedroom door. I laid there ignoring it until the door banged open and I saw Miles standing there with his new mate Emma. “Get out.” I said, rolling over. “Connor. You need to get your ass out of this bed.” Miles demanded. But I laid there, not saying anything to him. I didn’t have anything to say to him. “Alpha. You need to get up. This pack is depending on you. They need their leader.” “Their Queen is dead.” I said. “You don’t know that.” Miles yelled. “She’s been gone for two and a half months. She would have come back to me by now. She’s dead.” I said. “Maybe she just can’t find a way back. We’ve been researching how to open a portal and we’ve come up completely empty. Maybe she can’t figure it out either.” Emma said. “I didn’t ask for your opinion.” I said. “Alpha. The people need you.” Miles said. But I grabbed my blanket and I pulled it up over my head. I heard th
It took us two days to get back to Arthur’s castle, and I was surprised to see that the damage from the attack was already fixed. His men worked pretty quickly around here. Even though it had only been two days, my stomach had swollen a lot more than it was when I killed Mila. I was actually a little curious to know how far along I was now. Because I had no idea and there was no way of telling until I got home. As soon as we got to the castle we were greeted with a hero’s welcome. It had already spread across the land that the black witch was dead. And the whole realm was rejoicing and celebrating the news. “You’re a local hero around here. Are you sure you want to leave?” Arthur asked. “As much as I think this place is beautiful, it’s not home.” I said. “I know. Come on, let’s go and see what they’ve found out.” He said. So we went inside and there were people scattered everywhere over two rooms of the castle. “Your majesty.” A woman said, bowing her head for Arthur.
As the dragon and I were battling it out, it started to realize that we weren’t going to be easy prey. When it had been distracted long enough, Arthur and his men snuck around the side and used their swords to slice the dragon’s legs. It was enough to get it’s attention and it fell back slightly, drawing it fire back from me and giving me the advantage. I released my fire at the dragon again, hitting it directly in the middle of the chest and causing it to catch on fire. It stumbled around and back into the middle of the mountain until it fell to the ground and didn’t get back up. I walked to the edge of the cliff that the dragon had fallen over and I saw Mila and another blonde woman, dressed in black also, staring up at me. Not believing what they just saw. “Did you really think I was going to let you get away this time?” I asked. “What have you done?” The woman screeched, running to her fallen dragon. “I stopped that beast from killing me. I’m sure that anyone would
I was pushed out of the way at the last second by someone who was then thrown down the hall by the electric blast. I heard Arthur start yelling and I turned around to see Uther on the ground and Arthur’s men were surrounding him. Mila started approaching us again, striking at us however she could, but I noticed that her anger was causing her to be careless and reckless. She wasn’t hitting anyone. She was just aiming towards them and hitting the building around them. So I got up and instead of using any magic against her right now, I charged at her and tackled her to the ground. I got up and kicked her in the face and stopped on her chest, causing her to have trouble breathing for a moment. I stood back and she rolled to the side and she saw the blood coming from her face, wiping it away with her hand. She looked even angrier after that, but before she had a chance to react, I kicked her in the stomach and punched her in the throat. She fell back against the wall and I gr
Knowing that my pregnancy was progressing like it would be in my world, I was unsure of just how long it would take for me to give birth. I could only have a week or two for all I know. Arthur looked really worried about it as well. I don’t think he was all that keen about having to deliver a baby. We saw the witch disappear with his soldiers and there was no way to warn the men at his castle, in case the witch was planning on attacking them. We were both worried for so many reasons and they weren’t small worries either. “Listen. I might be able to get us out of here but it’s not going to be pleasant. I just need to try and control the magic that she’s placed on the bars.” I explained. “How are you going to do that? Won’t that be dangerous and harmful?” Arthur asked.“I can handle it.” I said.“What about the baby? Are you willing to take that risk?” He asked.“What else are we meant to do? Just sit here and wait until she’s decided what shes going to do with us? I can guarantee
Arthur and I noticed that we were locked in that room alone, his other men had been captured by her soldiers somewhere along the route to the room, but we were too interested in what was happening right in front of us. Medea’s dead body and all. “I hope you don’t think this cage will hold me for long.” I said. “No. Just long enough to wipe out his army.” She said, looking at Arthur. We then heard a lot of shouting outside, so we ran to the window that also had bars on it and the soldiers outside were being attacked by Sphinx’s and Pegusas’ soldiers. They weren’t outnumbered, but they were taken by surprise and they were being attacked from all sides. “My men will tear through that pathetic army that you have down there.” Arthur said. “Maybe. But not for a while. And not without losing a lot of your men as well.” The witch smirked, before disappearing in another cloud of smoke. “Can you get out of this cage?” Arthur asked. “Yeah. But just give me a minute.” I said. “What d
