MILES POV I had successfully merged William’s pack with Connor’s pack and they were making themselves useful at the castle now. They weren’t causing any static and the ones that were still loyal to William were either killed or locked in the dungeon of the castle. And the dungeon in the castle is no laughing matter. I had let things go for a couple more weeks and I was running the pack as I knew Connor would. We were back to rescuing people but the biggest issue at the moment was trying to find places to put them all. The village was making great progress and a lot of families had already moved into the apartments that had been built. But we were still getting reports of abuse that couldn’t be ignored and I was constantly sending more and more teams out to save the abused. I decided that it was time again to go and see Connor. AURORA’S POV I could still hear the screaming coming from the giants and see the flames and smoke pouring out from above the trees as I walked away with the Pegasus’. I tried as hard as possible not to look back and see what I had done, but it was hard with their screams getting louder and them softer. I suddenly woke up in a cold sweat and jolted up. I looked around to see Thaddeus and his soldiers were still asleep in the field that we had found to camp in for the night. Thaddeus lunged for me at the same time, I dodged out of the way and I raised my hands at the same time to protect myself. When I opened my eyes, I saw black smoke surrounding me and I wasn’t standing next to Thaddeus anymore. I was standing on the hill behind the werebears. As the creatures were scaling the walls of the castle, the soldiers were trying to shoot them down with their bow and arrows and they were successfully getting a lot of them, but there were more and more of them jumping across the fire lit mote. AURORA POV As soon as I came through that portal, I knew it worked and that I was home again. I came through at the same place as when I went to the other realm. And I knew my way back to the castle just fine. I started running back to the castle, but I was slower these days with the stomach weighing me down. It took us two days to get back to Arthur’s castle, and I was surprised to see that the damage from the attack was already fixed. His men worked pretty quickly around here. Even though it had only been two days, my stomach had swollen a lot more than it was when I killed Mila. I was actually a little curious to know how far along I was now. Because I had no idea and there was no way of telling until I got home. As soon as we got to the castle we were greeted with a hero’s welcome. It had already spread across the land that the black witch was dead. And the whole realm was rejoicing and celebrating the news. “You’re a local hero around here. Are you sure you want to leave?” Arthur asked. “As much as I think this place is beautiful, it’s not home.” I said. “I know. Come on, let’s go and see what they’ve found out.” He said. As the dragon and I were battling it out, it started to realize that we weren’t going to be easy prey. When it had been distracted long enough, Arthur and his men snuck around the side and used their swords to slice the dragon’s legs.
