CHAPTER 79

I had let things go for a couple more weeks and I was running the pack as I knew Connor would. We were back to rescuing people but the biggest issue at the moment was trying to find places to put them all.

The village was making great progress and a lot of families had already moved into the apartments that had been built. But we were still getting reports of abuse that couldn’t be ignored and I was constantly sending more and more teams out to save the abused.

I decided that it was time again to go and see Connor. To see if anything had changed with him.

I didn’t have high hopes, but I knew that I wasn’t going to give up on him. He was the best friend that I knew and he saved my life more times than I could count. So I wasn’t going to give up on him now.

When I got back to the field where Aurora had gone missing, I did a quick scan of the area before I focused on the tent.

I saw Connor laying on the ground in front of the tent, not moving.

I ran up to him and I could see
