Chapter 30: Roman's Testimony

Evelyn's POV

Leah was breathing heavily, looking like she was about to have a panic attack.

“I gave Roman the antidote because… because…” She hesitated for a while before squeezing out a few words through her clenched teeth, “To prevent potential danger!”

“What potential danger?” Tristan repeated, frowning.

“Like—Evelyn!”

Leah suddenly straightened up, a gleam appearing in her eyes as if she had found the perfect excuse to explain everything:

“Yes, Evelyn! She’s always been targeting me and Roman. I was afraid she might poison Roman, so I gave him the antidote just in case.”

A nearby elder nodded in agreement, “That makes sense. After all, Roman has accused Luna Evelyn of beating him before—”

“Fucking bullshit!” Isolde shouted angrily, stepping forward and glaring at the elder. “Evelyn never laid a finger on that child! Stop spreading lies!”
