RECOVERY

Ken was so restless at home and all he did was a change from official clothes and put on casual clothes and decided to go to the hospital. Even when everybody tried to advise him to give her time to wake up he said that he cannot rest until his family is safe at home. Jimmy offered to drive him to the hospital and when they arrived they, fortunately, met with Tina’s treating doctor who was pleased to see him. Mr. King thank God you are here your wife is asking for you. They are changing her clothing and bedding kindly go and see her after they are finished and don’t let her talk too much she needs to spare the energy for healing she’s asking about the kids we cannot remove them from the incubator. So Ken had an idea doctor kindly allowed me to visit the babies so that I can take a photo of them to show my wife. Okay, I will tell Nurse Jane to escort you to the nursery so that you won't have problems with the directions and identification. The nurse lead the way to the nursery and he was taken to his two little angels they were so tiny and looked delicate but he was let to put his protected hand and one held his finger tightly like saying dad you are not leaving me it almost brought Ken into tears he took photos of his beauties with permission and went to visit their mum. Before he left he waved at them and said dad loves you my babies and soon we will all be at home with your loving mum. Ken felt emotional a feeling he never had and was feeling helpless having to leave his infants at the nursery. He noted he’ll talk to the doctor if there was a way they can be transferred home with the necessary health care he was willing to pay a fortune after their mother is released from the hospital so that they can stay home like a family. 

Ken went to the private room where Tina was now transferred although she was on IVF she looked better and not as pale as he appeared before. She was still sleeping and Ken sat on a sit next to her and watched as she sleep peacefully. Ken could not keep mum anymore and held her hand and talked to her, “I don’t know if you can hear me but you made me a proud father of two beautiful boys, Tina they are our angels the ones you risked your life to bring in this world I will cherish you forever for your sacrifice. You should see them they are so tiny but they held my finger and did not want to let go. Please get well soon so that we can go home as a family. Tina, I love you as I have never any other person you are a gift to the King’s family you brought joy and we are so proud of you my dear. My mum had insisted on joining me but today I am selfish I just want to spend time with you my darling. You will be well and together with our boys we will go to visit the jungle and show them the wonders of the world. “Boys” Tina whispered yes two boys my darling you are awake yes. Did you come to see me? Tina asked yes darling I could have remained here but the doctors insisted we give you time to recover you had just come from the theatre. Yes, Tina whispered I still feel mine through dry but thanks for being here. Ken said please don’t strain to talk let me show you the babies he showed her the photos and she smiled, they have your eyes and ears, is it Ken asked excitedly yes daddy Tina replied Ken was beyond excited and went to hug her and she felt pain due to the cut and Ken noticed his error I am so stupid did I injure you no please but it's still painful, can I call the doctor? 

After asking that the doctor came and said to Ken we need to give the patient enough time to rest. She needs to heal and gain her energy back today we will have to send you home. Then Ken asked can I take her a photo please he took the photo and kissed her forehead the doctor sedated her and she closed her eyes so Ken was told by the doctor she’ll be asleep until tomorrow morning go home and rest under surveillance by our paramedics 24/7 and she’s in good care. Ken had no choice but to accept and joined Jimmy who was waiting for her outside and they went to have coffee in a cafeteria where Ken updated him about Tina and the babies and even showed him the photos. They look so delicate Jimmy commented congratulations brother, big up we never had time to discuss this due to the tension that was there. Yeah I know thank you, brother. Ken remembered that others were very Tense at home and suggested let's go home we don’t want to keep everybody anxious the driver took them to the King's mansion where everybody was anxiously waiting for the news.

When their car arrived at the gate everybody came out with anxiety to know of the latest news. The mother and the boys are doing okay. Everyone breathed a relief sign thank God. The senior Mr. King who never believed in a word of mouth asked how can we be sure. I have the photos Ken showed them and everybody was happy to see the mum and the babies okay. Ken said we have been told we have to give the mother time to rest and heal for twenty-four hours she needs rest nonstop and visiting the patience is restricted to one person he proudly pointed at his chest “the daddy” and everyone was like aaah and they all loved and the tension that was in the house reduced and they all started talking about the nursery, other shopping for the clothes until Mr. Kings senior had to stop all of them and said, “keep quiet, I don’t want to hear about any more arrangements until the mother and my grandsons are out of danger and safe at home”.  Ken said, thanks dad that's what I was thinking but I have a favor I want to ask from you guys, especially my brothers. Lewis and Jimmy replied in unison “what can we do?”. Ken replied when Tina is released from the hospital after a week or so the kids will be left in the hospital, “how? Everyone asked because they are in the incubator they need pediatric assistance until they can breathe on their own. Mr. King senior was fast in replying what if we put the facilities in one room and it becomes like the hospital we can afford to hire pediatric doctors and nurses to take care of the mother and the babies. Ken replied thanks, dad, I suggested it to the doctor and he agreed but on condition, we give the mother one week to recover from the cesarean wound and then she can be brought home but under care. Okay, so we are together in this Mr. King said. Lewis said don’t you worry brother we will take care of it you worry about your wife's healing thanks brother Ken replied hugging him with appreciation.

Then Lewis went to the bar and brought a bottle of John walker and they took two neat tots to relax their minds and reduce the tension they had earlier on. Tina spent two weeks in the hospital and they were transferred home because her room was always crowded with visitors even the medical personnel used to complain she had many visitors. Tina was so happy because she had gained a family she never had and received so much love from them. She could never compare her life before and now and she was always thanking her lucky stars and appreciating that she also had kids she could pamper and a loving and caring husband and this made her love Ken more than she thought possible.
