Chapter 31 Knocking You Out

"Hi, Katie." I look at my back because some bitches called my name. They're three, one of them is Alex

"Oh, hello! Are they your friends?" I asked her. I can control my mouth but cannot control my facial expressions.

"Yes, this one is Belle and this one is Daphne." She paused for a while.

"Hi Katie, it's so nice to meet you." The 2 girls said and I just smiled, after a few minutes they left, so I got into the rehearsal hall.

"Hey, Katie!" I saw Enrique standing in front of me.

"Oh hi," I just smiled lightly and then get a microphone.

"When did your love for me starts to fade away...

All the love you've shown me, are they all just lies?

Why didn't you tell me that there is someone else?

I just sang it in a cappella and Enrique noticed it.

"Is that your song in the Knockout rounds? Who are you competing with?" He asked.

"It's a new song that I found on YouTube and the lyrics are just superb!" I said and smiled at him.

"Seems like you're singing it for me..." He smirked and a look at him for a while! Such a dumb ass! Argh! He's getting into my nerves!

"You know Quen, you're not even part of the competition. So what are you doing here at the rehearsal room?" I rolled my eyes.

"Hey, I was just kidding." He sat next to me.

"Not all of your jokes are funny, sometimes you didn't know if you are hurting someone's feelings already." I said. This situation is awkward but then Nicko came.

"Babe..." He called, I know he was just using the pet name because he wants Enrique to leave.

"Oh! Hello, Nickanor." I waved my hand and smiled on him.

"Uhm Enrique, would you mind if you're giving us a couple of minutes?" And with that question, Enrique just left the rehearsal room.

"Hi, Katie! I am sorry for the pet name earlier, I did that because I saw that you are not comfortable with Enrique. For the last time, I am so sorry." He said and bow his head.

"Oh don't mind it, it's okay. Wait, what are you doing here? You don't have a schedule today here, right?" I curiously asked.

"How did you know my schedule?" He asked and looked straightly at me.

"Are you stalking me?" He added.

"Of course not! Coach Sha sent us a message on our group chat with the full schedule." I said, he just laughed.

"Why are you too defensive?" He raised a brow.

"I am not, Nicko. I'm only explaining it to you because you probably do not know that." I said and get back on the stage.

"What's the title of the song that you were singing on the knock out rounds?" He asked, he's sitting on the audience seat, watching me.

"I don't know, Coach Sha are still not announcing it, but once she told us, I'll tell you." I smiled and read a few verses of the song.

"Huh? Why is she not telling her team the song? The knockouts round are exactly one week before today." He's frustrated.

"I guess it's her challenge for us, to learn the song in just a few days. It's good because you know, when someone challenged me, I will push to be the better version of my self."

"That's a very good mindset, Katie. Just keep doing better and everything will go smooth for you, I'm here to cheer for you. See you on the Grand Finale." He said.

"Really? Huh? Grand Finale? I think I couldn't make it." I always doubt myself, I think that I can never enter a grand finals. There are many performers here that are a way better than me.

"You are good, Katie. Remember that." He said before he left.

Few days have passed and I just prepared my self for the knock out rounds, Coach Sha have already told us the songs which we are going to sing. I'm battling with Jessica and Raphael. I don't know what Coach Sha was thinking, why us? They're too good for me.

"Hi, Kate." Enrique said when he entered my dressing room. Yes, you read it right, I have now my own dressing room.

"Uhm... Did you ate already? I heard that you and your other team mates didn't ate that much because you were too busy... Here, I cook Roasted Chicken for you." It's a sweet taught but I will not get it from him. I don't want to take the food even though I really wanted to eat that.

"Thank you for the effort, but no, thank you." I smiled and his face looks like puzzled.

"Why? You don't like it? I thought this is your favorite, your Mom told me, we had a catch up last night." He said and still insisted to put a serving on my plate.

"Hey, Enrique. You will just waste your energy for me. Just leave, okay? I'm already changing my clothes for the taping. Wish me luck! And please, DON'T YOU EVER BULLY ME ON STAGE!" He gives me a thumbs up before leaving my dressing room.

I only had a few minutes before the show will be started so I get the pink glittered dress that my stylist brought here.

I looked at myself from the mirror and I can see myself shining from it. I'm shining with this dress but I felt like I'm not gonna take the slot tonight for the Semi Finals.

From 9, Coach Sha will only choose 3 to enter the Semi's and I don't have a big chance to be there. So, if this is gonna be my last night in the competition, I'll made an impact that people will remember me.

"AND NOW PLEASE WELCOME, THE NEW BREED OF THEATRE ACTRESS IN THIS GENERATION, Katie Meagan Romero."

The LED lights opened as Enrique introduces me to the audience, the bosses of the TV Network Station is also here, and it make me feel more nervous.

"Where did it all change, I was not aware...

When did you realize, that I was not enough...

Why didn't you tell me, I wish I could have known...

It's the song that I was just playing with the other day but Coach Sha heard it and she asked me what was the title. She searched for it on the YouTube and right after that, on our meeting she said that it's gonna be our Knockout rounds song.

My mind was really out of this so I don't listen well to the other coaches comment about our performances. Even Coach Sha's comment, I didn't listen a lot. I was clearly thinking what's gonna happen next if I was not chosen by Coach Sha. Well, it's okay because the other two persons beside me are too good.

After that we just wait on the backstage and I was really nervous, but my best friend just come over.

"Mi Amor." She said, she loved it when she's calling me Mi Amore, a Spanish term for, my Love.

"Yanna! What are you doing here? Who allowed you enter? Only contestants are the allowed." I said and she hugged me.

"Ah I'm just here to say Congratulations. You made it Katie and I am so proud of you, my best friend." She hugged me again.

"Aw, thank you for the effort Yanna." I smiled.

"This is just a quick visit. I just said to the person over there that I was lost and I'm finding a CR, bye Mi Amor. See you on Saturday." She waved her hands as she left the back stage.

"Contestants, proceed on the stage." The staff told us so we got into the stage as fast as we can.

"NOW, It's Coach Sha's turn to pick 3 of her 9 performers to be on the Semi Finals. Coach Sha, please do the honors." Enrique said.

"Hi my Dear Babies, I know you aren't baby anymore so I'm not taking this long. Losing is a part of every competition and in every competition there is only one winner. Okay Babies? You know that I love you all very much." She opened a speech.

I also experience being a judge in a competition and it's hard to choose is they are both good.

"The artist that I'm choosing to made it on the Semi Finals is..." She paused for a while.

"Dior, Angelique and... Katie!"

I'm still part of the competition! I'm advancing to the Semi Finals! Thanks, God!

"Thank you for putting the trust on me, my Babies. You are all good, please come back here on the next seasons. And please choose me again." Coach Sha hugged us one by one.

It's not easy for her to let go of us.
