Chapter 24 Stop Playing With Me

"Hey Katie, I missed you." His baritone voice filled the condo but I just keep on staring at him, don't even like to threw just one word to him.

"Uy, I'm here already, what will you sing on the battle rounds?" He get my notebook so I shouted.

"Give it back to me." I coldly said.

"Hey, what's your problem? What happened?" He asked again, don't really know huh?

"Ask yourself if what is the problem." I said before he give back my notebook.

"I don't know Katie, I've explained everything to you right? So what's this all about? Let's fix this." He said, after a while we just heard my hands hitting his face.

"Could please stop playing with me Enrique? I know everything, you know that I was in Pampanga the concert night, but it wasn't true, I was on your concert! I witnessed everything Quen, everything!" I said while crying and holding the flower vase.

"So you mean?" He's buffering.

"Yeah, the way you make your audience to feel the kilig, I was hurt Enrique! I could run into the stage and say in front of those peoples that I was your girlfriend but did I do that Quen? I didn't because I love you so please don't do the things that will provoke me." I said.

"But it was just publicity Katie." He insisted.

"Oh, so you're invalidating my pain? Selfish Quen! Selfish." I said and I was about to lock my door but he followed me.

"Sorry okay, sorry. I promise to be good in the following days, I will not be with Alex if that's what you want." He said and I just laughed sarcastically.

"You can't Enrique, you need to be with Alex, there are a lot of promotions and oh before I forgot, I bought a newspaper. Here." I said and slapped it on his face.

The front cover was the photo of him and Alex kissing each other, I saw in that photo that they're both enjoying it.

"I'm sorry Katie." That's all what he can say now, a sorry that will never lessen the pain that I am feeling right now.

"Sorry again, it's always like that. Let's stop this, I'm tired Quen, I am really tired." I said and wiped out my tears, I can't hold it anymore.

"Forgive me again this time Katie, please. Please Kate." He said and he hold my hands.

"Let's have cool off Quen, I couldn't breathe anymore in this set up. This may affect my performance next week." I said and get back on my chair.

"Katie, both of us have dreams. Your dream was to have a big name on the Philippine Music Industry while me, my dream was to live in the USA, Alex is an American citizen." That words really hit me, little did he know that I am also an American citizen, and what is he trying to say? Alexandria will petition him there? That was only applicable for married couple, are he planning to marry Alex someday?!

"Quen, little did you know that I am also an American citizen? Is it all you want or do you have an hidden agenda to Alex?" I asked and raised my brows.

"Kate... Kate... I didn't mean it." He tried to get me but he didn't won, I just hit him hard, I can't even say a bad word to him.

"Just leave Enrique, before I say something that can will ruin everything that we have, just leave please." I said and he get out, he was still looking for me before he go out.

"Mom." I immediately dialed my mom's number.

"Yes, sweetie? What's wrong? What happened? Why are you crying?" Her sweet voice lighten up my system.

"Mom, I miss you. I can't wait to see you again here in the Philippines because I'm preparing something for all of you." I said, that's all I can share right now because if I'll tell her the problem between me and Quen, she's going to scold Quen.

"A new project? Musical Theatre, sweetie?" She asked.

"No mom, a contest. I got a standing ovation on the blind auditions, I hope that I'll get an another one for my upcoming performances. I need and I want to won this, Mommy." I said.

"Aww, I'm happy for you. When will we go there? Is the finals already coming?" She asked.

"Excited huh?" I laughed.

"Of course, we are all waiting for you to join a competition." She said.

"Aww, thank you for the support Mommy, it's already getting late Mom, I need to sleep. I love you all there." I sent a flying kiss before I ended the call.

I'm not yet sleeping, I want to go out, I want to be a normal person on the streets, no body guard and no cameras.

I get out of the condominium unit and just walk and walk, I don't know if where I was going, I just wanted to be free this night.

"Katie?" I heard a familiar voice.

"Oh, Nicko." I responded.

"Why are you walking alone? Where is your boyfriend? Why is he letting you walk alone on the streets at night? You're not even familiar with the streets here in the Philippines." He concernly said.

"Ah, we're cool off." I said when we finally found a bench, we could sat here for a while.

"Why? I thought you are very much okay, you're on his dressing room the previous week right? You auditioned, I saw you. The standing ovation one." He proudly said.

"Oh, thank you." I said, I was thinking hard.

"Katie, look at me." He said so I straightly looked on his eyes.

"You seems very sad, is it Enrique? Could you share the problem with me? I'm your friend before right, I hope you can. And if not I'll respect it." He said.

"I'm jealous because he kissed ‘The Great Alexandria Sayson’ on public, on their concert. I witnessed everything Nicko, I was there on the concert, I could run into the stage and tell those people that I'm the real girlfriend of Quen but I didn't do because if I'll do that, I'm going to ruin's Enrique's career and I don't want that to happen." I said.

"You really love Enrique." He said and sighed.

"Yes, that's why I keep quiet because I don't want to ruin him, but it keep pushing me on my limits, sometimes he's not telling me the plans for him and Alex, I deserve to know that right? I am the legal girlfriend." I said.

"Yes, you are the legal. But in the showbiz world Katie, you need to learn how to accept this things, the jealousy blues, you need that to become stronger in handling a relationship with a showbiz personality." He said.

"Thanks for the advice Nicko, so are we friends again?" I asked.

"Yeah, why not?" He offered his hand.

"So where are you going now?" He asked.

"Ah, coming back on the condo, my head is already cleared, I'm now okay, thanks for the advice and time Nicko, see you on the taping." I said.

"My car was on the parking lot, I'll take you on your condo." He offered but I refused it, I will not do anything that will make Enrique jealous, even if he always do that to me.

"So, see you around Katie." I just waved my hands and find a taxi to take me on my condo.

I hope tomorrow will be a good day for me.
