Chapter 20 Audition

"Where are we going Katie, there are so many people here." Gabby said as I pulled her hands.

I'm auditionee number 197, I get here so early but the studio opened 9 AM, the batch 18 is inside the studio, I belong to the batch 19, 10 Persons per batch.

There are three rounds for the audition, first is solo, second round is you're going to sing with the the other 9 participants, and the third audition will happen in the TV, we have coaches.

"It's audition Gabby, you wanna audition too?" I smiled.

"Huh? Why? You're rising gem of theatre already huh, why are you still auditioning?" She asked.

"I want to have a name in the Philippine Music Industry, I didn't want a super big name, just enough fame Gab." I smiled.

"Okay, okay, wait. I'll just sign up. If I didn't see you anymore, I will fall in line, okay? I love you." She ran into the office, she's getting a form and her number, when batch 19 was called, I was so nervous.

When we entered the room, we sang one by one, we are called by our number, from here they'll be eliminating 6 performers, only 4 are accepted.

"Step forward, 193... 196... 200... 199... 195... 198... I'm sorry, you're now eliminated from the competition. Congratulations 191, 192, 194, 197." The panel said.

The 6 performers immediately get out of the room, I felt sad.

"What's your name? From left to right." He said, they didn't ask us if what are our names earlier.

"Alexis, Shaina, Crystal, Katie Megan." We said one by one.

"What a nice names, so you are going to sing, A Million Dreams, if I am not mistaken, it came from the greatest showman, right? Okay, sing." He said and we heard the material playing.

It's right to left now so I'm the one who will sing first.

"I close my eyes and I can see, the world's that waiting up for me, that I call my own. Through the dark, through the door. Through there's no one's been before. That I call my home..." I put down my microphone, it's Crystal's turn.

"They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy. They can say, they can say I've lost my mind. I don't care, I don't care so call me crazy. We can live in a world that we design." Awww, OMG! Crystal's voice is so clear and high.

The 4 of us sang the chorus part, the verse 3 and verse 4 was sang by Shaina and Alexis.

"All of you did great today, we've picked 3, but now we can't reveal it, just wait for our text message. It will be sent today, batch 20 get inside please." We get out of the room, I'm finding Gabby.

"Pst, pst, Katie." I looked around, there's someone calling for my name.

"Gabby, what number are you?" I asked her.

"Number 2072, you need to go home Katie. This will take long." She said.

"No, I'll wait for you, we can sat here right? I'm just sitting here, waiting for you." I said.

"I'm gonna see you on TV, Katie?" She asked suddenly.

"Maybe, let's hope so. I was just waiting for their text message." I said, it was already 6 in the evening when Gabby came back from the room.

"What's up Gabby, approved?" I asked.

"Yeah, waiting for the text message hihi." She said.

"I need to treat you my friend a food, thanks for waiting me. Fast food?" She asked.

"I don't want fast food Gabby, I want cookies, chocolate chip cookies from convenience store. That's all I want." I sad and I smiled.

"Okay, okay. Let's buy some." We entered the convenience store that was near the studio, she brought the one who is in the box.

"Awww I'm so happy, thank you Gab. Love you too. I didn't give it back earlier right hihi." I said and she pinched my cheeks.

"Are you going home now?" She asked.

"Yeah, I just wait for you. Bye, love you again." I just walk because my condo was near.

"Megan Katerina Faulkner." I don't know why they ask for my name, when I say my name, they let me to come in.

"Kikooo." I called my dog when I stepped my foot on my unit.

"Hi babe, how's your audition?" I was a little bit shocked because he's here.

"It went really well, I'm just waiting for their text message tonight if I am qualified to enter the next round." I said and get a water in the fridge.

I almost exclaimed when I saw that notification popped up at my phone, this is it!

Congratulations! Ms. Romero, you are advancing in the blind auditions on June 20.

"Quen! Quen! OMOO! They already sent me a message! You're going to see me on their stage! WAAAHH!" I jumped all over my unit.

"Congratulations Babe, I'm so proud of you the next winner of Voice Idol." He said.

"Thanks babe, thank you. Can I ask a favor? Could we not tell this to my mom and dad? I want them to be surprised, Gabby also auditioned, I hope that she'll be able to join the blind auditions." I said.

"She will be able, let's claim it. I already cook food for you. It's your favorite, isn't it?" He asked before I smiled when I saw the food on the table. Oh! I did also notice one thing, he's good in table scaping. If I don't know him, I could probably think that he's a gay or whatsoever.

Steamed Milkfish.

"Awww, thank you Quen. Come, join me." I said.

"You are so welcome Katie, eat well my Love." He fixed the table and put some food on my plate, it was so delicious.

"Where did you learn this?" I asked him.

"Internet. I guess."
