Jane Point of View.Part of me wanted to run into Jayden’s arms, and another part knew I could never do that again because we were doomed. The sound of Jessi clapping, celebrating the reunion of the couple that should never have broken up, snapped me out of my trance, and I sighed as I saw a police officer approach, whispering something in Daon’s ear, who looked at me anxiously.“I’ll finish my statement and sign some papers,” my husband explained, and I nodded. He looked at his best friend before leaving, and Jayden seemed as confused as I was. Simon and Maryna were so wrapped up in each other that when I noticed, they were stumbling and bumping into me.“For God's sake, get a room!” Jayden demanded, huffing in irritation.“Yeah, have some compassion for the singles!” Jessi grumbled in her always loud voice.“Now, besides everything, there’s no respect left in this company,” Hanna muttered, and even wrapped in the arms of the man she loved, Maryna couldn’t let it slide.“Who are you
We stared at Simon in anticipation, my heart almost jumping out of my chest. Had they discovered Bobby’s identity? Had he done something else? Time seemed to stand still as I stared at him, terrified, unable even to breathe.“I just wanted to say I’m heading home, and since I don’t know if I’ll survive this woman, I’m letting you know. If I don’t show up tomorrow, search for my dehydrated body with too much pleasure.” Simon said, his first words serious before laughing, and I finally exhaled in relief. Jayden, noticing my distress, huffed irritably.“Get out of here, you fool! Go have sex and leave me alone! By the way, where’s Maryna? Did you leave her alone?” Jayden asked, worried.Simon’s eyes widened as if he just realized what he had done, and before he could respond, we heard a loud scream echoing down the hallway.“Help! Someone help me!” A female voice pleaded. When we opened the door, we were met with the sight of Maryna dragging Hanna by the hair down the Mix corridors.“Let
Every time I heard the doorbell ring, I almost lost my mind. I didn’t know what to do, and if I knew Bobby well, he’d find a way to get in. Desperate, I grabbed my phone and dialed Jayden’s number, but I simply couldn’t complete the call. I couldn’t involve him in this, this was my problem, and I had to deal with it on my own. Suddenly, my phone started ringing, and I saw an unknown number on the screen. Panic surged through me, and the tears fell even more frequently down my face. My voice cracked from crying as I mustered all my strength to answer the phone."Hello?" I stammered, my voice trembling.I held my breath, waiting to hear the voice that haunted all my worst nightmares, but there was no reply. Then, I heard the sound of someone entering the code into the door lock, and I panicked. My God, how did he find out the code? He’s going to get in. He’s going to kill me. I held my breath and felt my legs give way as I heard the door unlocking. Just as I thought of screaming, I saw
His threat makes me stop fighting immediately, and tears start rolling down my face. He takes me to the back of the gym, and from where we are, he keeps watch until I see Jayden approaching the car, looking around in confusion, searching for me. I began crying even harder, and when Bobby removed his hand from my mouth, I thought about screaming, but then I saw him pull a gun from his pocket and aim it at Jayden.“If you make a sound, I’ll shoot,” Bobby whispered.I panicked and covered my mouth with my hands so Jayden wouldn’t hear my sobs.“If you want your lover to live, you’ll come with me now!” Bobby demanded. He turned me to face him, and my entire body trembled as desperation took over me. I glanced back at Jayden, and even though I knew that if I went with Bobby, I’d never see him again, I was willing to do anything to save him. So, I took one last look at the man I loved and nodded.“Okay, take me. Do whatever you want with me, but please don’t hurt him!” I begged desperately.
The discovery of the present did not change the past. We suffered, we separated, and it was over, but looking into the eyes of the man I once loved, I realized that things weren't so simple. He was still trapped in the past, and because of that, he would always hinder any possibility of a future I planned."This must have been my mother’s doing! So, you loved me," he concluded, smiling for a moment amid the tears, and my heart ached. "And you still love me!" he continued, and my eyes burned as the urge to cry consumed me."Bobby!" I sighed his name, and he seemed to get irritated, making me shrink back as I watched him close his eyes, trying to control his anger."You know I hate it when you call me by my name," he growled through gritted teeth.Bobby looked around, trying to figure out what to do, until he got out of the car, sending a chill down my spine. He walked around the car and opened the door, pulling me out. He was dragging me into the house when he seemed to remember someth
Desperation was the only thing keeping me standing. The blood running through my veins now existed solely to ensure that Daon and Jayden made it out of all this unharmed. For that, I had to think and act smart, but all I could do was cry.“No! Please, don’t hurt them!” I begged, and he gave a sarcastic smile, leaning in close to my ear.“It’s all up to you, baby,” he whispered before laughing.I closed my eyes, and just imagining anything happening to Jayden or Daon made my heart clench.“Fine. I’ll go with you, but I need time,” I assured him, though my trembling voice didn’t inspire much confidence.“Time?” He asked, clenching his jaw.“Yes, I need time to end my marriage and organize my documents. Give me at least a month!” I pleaded, trying to think of a way to delay our departure.“A month? I’ll give you two weeks. If you don’t come back with me in two weeks, say goodbye to Jayden,” Bobby stated with a devilish laugh.“Alright, two weeks. Now let me go, because if Daon comes home
In my husband’s arms, I felt safe, and he didn’t seem to tire of holding me, keeping his body pressed against mine. He kissed every part of my face, as if still unable to believe I was there. The police officer looked at me with suspicion and, after a while, approached me.“Mistress Lee, I’ll need to take your statement,” he said, his lips pursed in disapproval.I wasn’t in the right headspace for this. I just wanted to go home, take a shower, and lie down in bed, even though I knew that after learning of Bobby’s plans, I wouldn’t be able to sleep, worrying if he’d harm one of the two men in my life. Daon noticed my reaction and turned to the officer.“Can’t it wait? She’s tired, and I’d like to take her home,” Daon asked, and the officer stared at me as if analyzing my behavior, which started to irritate me.“Not before your wife explains properly what kind of kidnapper takes her without any visible struggle, considering she doesn’t seem to have any marks, not even rope burns on her
Dealing with Daon's mother was nothing compared to the whirlwind of emotions I'd been handling over the past few days, but it was still difficult. I rolled my eyes, unsure how to hide my dissatisfaction upon seeing her there, and only when I looked at her did I notice she was arm-in-arm with Louyse."Mom, please don’t start!" Daon warned her with a weak smile on his face, gripping my hand more firmly when I tried to step away."Start what, my son? I’m here on a peace mission. I was talking to Louyse, and the more I talk to her, the more certain I am that you two were born for each other." His mother gestured to the younger woman, who smiled as her cheeks flushed, pretending I wasn’t even there."Don’t say that, you’ll embarrass me," Louyse replied shyly, though it was clear she was enjoying it."It’s the pure truth, dear. I still have faith that my son will open his eyes and see you’re the ideal woman for him. Nothing would make me happier than seeing you two together," his mother ins
