Desperation was the only thing keeping me standing. The blood running through my veins now existed solely to ensure that Daon and Jayden made it out of all this unharmed. For that, I had to think and act smart, but all I could do was cry.

“No! Please, don’t hurt them!” I begged, and he gave a sarcastic smile, leaning in close to my ear.

“It’s all up to you, baby,” he whispered before laughing.

I closed my eyes, and just imagining anything happening to Jayden or Daon made my heart clench.

“Fine. I’ll go with you, but I need time,” I assured him, though my trembling voice didn’t inspire much confidence.

“Time?” He asked, clenching his jaw.

“Yes, I need time to end my marriage and organize my documents. Give me at least a month!” I pleaded, trying to think of a way to delay our departure.

“A month? I’ll give you two weeks. If you don’t come back with me in two weeks, say goodbye to Jayden,” Bobby stated with a devilish laugh.
