Alex's POV

I walked away not minding I was leaving them hanging without a response. I didn't want to create a scene. I wouldn't want the few pack members left to know what was happening in my family.

The pack was still in tension. Everyone was fully alert. The pack was now on lockdown since the Rogue attack, with no one in or out, every entrance guarded. The sudden attack had shaken us to our core, and the fear of another attack might happen again.

I sat in my room, staring at the walls, the silence was all I needed to think clearly. My thoughts kept returning to Alexis, to the last time I saw her before she was taken. The helplessness I felt ate at me, a constant reminder that I’d failed to protect her. Now, with the pack on lockdown, it felt like my hands were tied even tighter.
