Chapter 66

Alex's POV

The basement walls seemed to close in around me as I was punching hard at the punching bag. The hitting of my fists echoed in the room, the result of the relentless thoughts that had been keeping me awake for days. Every hit was fueled by the image of Alexis, taken forcefully by Alpha Kane. The thought of her alone, scared, and in danger made my blood boil. I hadn’t slept properly since that day, the day he took her from me.

Sweat dripped down my brow, stinging my eyes, but I didn’t care. I felt the burn in my muscles, the ache in my bones. It was working at distracting me from the fear that I might lose her forever. The punching bag swayed at every hit, its chains rattling, but I kept going. This was the only way I could channel the anger, the frustration that had been building up inside me, threatening to explode.
