Chapter 63

Alexis’ POV

The day went by and it all felt the same. I was stuck in this tiny room with no way out of it. The walls felt like they were closing in on me. The loneliness and silence were kicking in really hard, except for the occasional footsteps outside. I had no idea how long I'd been trapped, it could have been days or weeks because I didn't even try to keep track of time.

When the first maid brought me food, I tried to talk to her but she just looked at me as if she had words to say but she couldn't voice them out and left without saying a word. Every day, different maids brought me food. But none of the maids ever spoke. I was desperate for communication as loneliness was eating me away.

Today was no different. The maid, a different one this time, entered the room quietly, carrying a tray with what I assumed was lunch. The scent of the food was meant to entice me but it did nothing. I was too tired, too drained mentally to care.
