Aria.
“Where is she?” I heard Alpha Rowan scream. “Where is that good for nothing she wolf? Where the fuck is she?”
I knew he was talking about me, the only servant in the manor. I dropped the scrubs I was using on the floor and wiped the beads of perspiration off my forehead.
“I am here, Alpha.” My voice sounded hoarse when I replied.
“Didn’t you just hear me calling?” His hand left the railings at the top of the stairs and he made his way down. He was tall, muscular, dark-haired, and had round brown eyes, he was the stoned-faced Alpha of Silverwolf Pack.
I lowered my gaze before he caught me staring at him.
“I warned you to always answer immediately when you're called!” His hand sliced against my cheek.
I swallowed the sound that almost came out of my mouth, years of experience had made me numb from the pain.
“Why is my office not cleaned? I strictly informed you that I want my office cleaned because I am expecting a guest!” He spat in my face and pulled me by the ear.
“You’re just a servant in the house, don't think you’re anything special, and get to work!” He pressed his fingers into the shoulder of my thin skin.
“You heard me, Alpha Damon will be visiting the Pack and he's important, I don’t want to have any issues when he comes. I needed him to expand my territory and join with his pack. You won’t mess things up for me, so behave, wolf.”
I winced, and his fingers went deeper.
“Do you understand?” He barked.
“Yes, Alpha Rowan.”
He pushed me forward and kicked my butt with his feet. I regained my balance before slipping and held tight to the railings.
Alpha Damon, I have only heard rumors about him, and from what I gathered, he is assertive and often ruthless, feared among wolves and he has the largest pack.
Alpha Rowan wants more power, and he would do anything to get it, and get more control over the werewolf kingdom.
“Clean the office, someone important is coming.” He hissed, he turned and added. “Prepare tea for us when he comes, and I don’t want him to see the floor this dirty! You're a lazy thing.”
“Are you still standing there? Useless wolf.” I heard him mutter.
I took the stairs and made my way to his office. I pushed the door open, quietly closed it, and leaned against it. Nothing seemed to be out of place in the office, and I had cleaned it before retiring for the night, yesterday.
Closing my eyes, I slid to the floor and exhaled. I hated this house, I hated everything, I was nothing more than a servant to everyone in the pack house and I had to live with the burden of hiding my true identity of the noble bloodline.
I remembered a little of my parents. Thirteen years ago our pack was invaded by wolves whose scent was masked and my family was murdered, all of them except me because someone saved me.
I didn’t know who the person was, the face was blurry. I was eight at that time, and I was warned that if I had to survive, I must hide from everyone that my father was an Alpha and I came from a powerful bloodline.
My wolf was forced into a weakened position, and no one knew I had the blood of an Alpha. And because of the bond that was used between me and my wolf, I could never find my mate and I came under the rule of Alpha Rowan, and was the slave of Silver wolf pack.
Someone cleared his throat, and it made me startled.
I thought I was alone in the office. I threw myself back against the door and stood before the voice that I heard and lowered my gaze.
“You smell funny.” A deep baritone spoke.
I took a peek at the man, lifting my gaze, slowly. There was a man seated on the chair, a very handsome man, with broad shoulders, piercing blue eyes and dark hair, a straight nose, and a slight slit over a thin red lips which held an amusing grin.
My heart pounded just at the sight of him.
“Is that how you greet Alphas?” He asked, and I started stuttering. I was only asked to speak when spoken to, and the sight of him made me lost for words.
I lowered my head in submission. “Alpha.”
He stood up from the chair and took two long strides towards me, his feet were covered in loafers, and he wore black pants.
“You didn’t know I was in the room, did you? And you smelled strange, I watched you for a minute or more.”
“Sorry,” I mumbled.
“Come closer.” He ordered, and I added a step forward.
“Why do you smell that way? And why didn’t you sense that I was in the room?”
“Look at me.” He ordered yet again.
I already felt a lump forming in my throat, I couldn’t tell him that my wolf was bound and I couldn’t sense anything, and that was the reason I didn’t know he was in here.
Alpha Rowan would kill me if he found out about this and if this man was the guest he was expecting.
“I don’t have the whole day, miss!” He snapped.
“I…I…” I stammered.
“…I’m just a servant.”
His fingers went to my chin, and he tilted it upward, forcing me to look at him. His blue eyes stared intently into my eyes.
His gaze narrowed, and his jaw clenched.
“There’s something about you and something that you’re hiding.”
I blinked my eyes at him and had to be cautious of what I said to him, he seemed to know something about me.
My heart raced, and I was somehow scared he could hear my heart running a marathon.
He shut his eyes, inhaled, and exhaled deeply, and he let go of my chin.
“I smell greatness in you little wolf, something powerful…” His eyes were still closed but he went on speaking. “Your time under the rule of Alpha Rowan is limited.” He opened his eyes and stared at me, I fixed my gaze at him, the blue eyes were glittering, and I was intrigued by his attention.
“Your star is ascending, and greatness awaits you and has chosen you for a path of leadership and triumph.”
I was too stunned to speak.
“But beware there’s an eye that sees in darkness. Little wolf.” The teasing smile returned to his face.
He folded his arms on his chest, and lowered himself to my height, I swallowed hard at the closeness of him, and drew my feet back but stumbled against the chair in front of the desk, his strong arm quickly scooped around my waist, restrained me from falling and pulled me into his arms.
I let out a sharp breath, my heart pounding so fast, I could hear the sound in my ears.
He smirked. “Be careful, little wolf.”
Aria. The door swung open and Alpha Rowan screeched at me. “Aria, are you done cleaning?” He turned to the man in the room, towering over me, he leaned against Alpha Rowan’s desk now. “…Alpha Damon,” Rowan whispered. He was Alpha Damon but how did he know so much about me?How was he able to tell me such a thing when it was the first time I was seeing him? “Has she bothered you? She was supposed to clean and leave the office.” Rowan scrawled and stretched his hand to hit me. “This stupid girl,”I closed my eyes, and braced myself, ready to get hit. “Don’t touch her.” Alpha Damon’s voice rumbled through the room. His hand has coiled around the wrist of Alpha Rowan, Alpha Rowan was older than him, he was close to his forties, and Alpha Damon was probably in his mid-twenties but he wasn’t showing any respect for Alpha Rowan. He was taller than Alpha Rowan and more muscular. “What’s your name?” “Aria,” I replied. “Aria.” My name rolled off his tongue. “Leave.” He ordered. “She sho
Aria. The annual hunt was held outside the pack house and it was in the woods, Alpha Rowan invited some other packs to join in the hunt, so the woods were filled with wolves. Kade made me stay close to him during the hunt, and he didn’t go too far because he didn’t want to lose sight of me. “Stay close, Aria.” I had lost count of how many times he said that. He added that he didn’t want me to get close to the woods because he wouldn’t be able to look for me in the woods and I might end up getting hurt. So, I stayed close to Kade and watched him interact with the other warriors, making sure that each part of the woods was protected. “Aria, Alpha Rowan wants you to come to him, now, he said you should bring his flask which held his tea in it, to him.” A blonde woman said to me. “He said he needs it now before he starts the hunt.” “If I were you, I would get going.” She pressed on when I hesitated. I had brought the flask with me, and I wanted to inform Kade that I was leaving bec
Aria. After the pack hunt, I went to meet with Alpha Rowan in the pack house, he was already pacing when I got there. I came to a sudden halt, and lowered my gaze when I was close enough. He spun around, and his voice thundered across the hall. “You little thief!” I was forced to stare at him. Wondering what he meant. I have never stolen from him, his accusations were quite alarming.“You were the only one that had access to my study room and you cleaned it last, my diamond ring is missing!” I shook my head and fell on my knees. “I didn’t take any diamond, Alpha.” “Are you calling your Alpha a liar? You bum?” I shook my head vigorously and swore that I didn’t take his diamond. He chuckled darkly and crossed his hands at his back. “You were going to run away after you stole it, there’s evidence that your bag was packed and my diamond ring was found among your things.” He squatted and held my chin roughly. “You were going to run away tonight after the hunt, that was your plan
