Aria.
After the pack hunt, I went to meet with Alpha Rowan in the pack house, he was already pacing when I got there.
I came to a sudden halt, and lowered my gaze when I was close enough.
He spun around, and his voice thundered across the hall. “You little thief!”
I was forced to stare at him. Wondering what he meant.
I have never stolen from him, his accusations were quite alarming.
“You were the only one that had access to my study room and you cleaned it last, my diamond ring is missing!”
I shook my head and fell on my knees.
“I didn’t take any diamond, Alpha.”
“Are you calling your Alpha a liar? You bum?”
I shook my head vigorously and swore that I didn’t take his diamond.
He chuckled darkly and crossed his hands at his back.
“You were going to run away after you stole it, there’s evidence that your bag was packed and my diamond ring was found among your things.” He squatted and held my chin roughly. “You were going to run away tonight after the hunt, that was your plan and it seems you’ve forgotten you’re just a slave, a slave that belongs to me!” He spat in my face and my body trembled.
I tried to speak but I couldn’t form words, my lips were quivering and nothing came out of my mouth except gasp.
It was all a lie, this was a setup.
“Bring her in.” He ordered.
The door opened, and Ava stepped in with my bag packed and dropped it on the ground with the diamond ring.
I knew someone was watching me, I never thought it was the girl I thought was like a sister to me, my best friend.
Her head was held high while she avoided my gaze.
I shook my head and refused to believe it.
“I…I didn’t do it, Alpha, it’s not true. Ava, tell the Alpha everything, you know I would never do such a thing. I would never go against the Alpha!”
I knew it would cost my life, that had been the reason I have been cautions while serving him for the past years.
“You told me you were going to leave the pack after you stole the diamond, you said you were going to sell it off. I warned you but you never listened to me. You were planning to leave tonight, conspire with Kade and leave the pack. You forgot you were just the pack slave and wanted to go against the Alpha.”
I gasped as I stared at her, spewing those words out of her mouth.
She looked like someone I never knew.
“Guards! Drag her away and have her locked in the dungeon, she will face execution!” Alpha Rowan ordered.
I pleaded with him but it fell on deaf ears.
“That’s the most beneficial punishment for someone like you.” He hissed.
I blinked the tears away from my eyes, my knees bent on the ground and my eyes fixed on Ava, there was no sympathy in her eyes, nothing at all.
Someone attempted to have me killed, and I think they have succeeded.
Alpha Rowan stood close to me down, he squatted, his mouth leaned close to my ear.
“I have been watching you, Aria, and I will be the one to decide your fate.”
Out of the corner of my eyes I stared at him, his upper lips curled into a smirk.
It couldn’t be…
He was the one who sent those wolves after me in the hunt?
Why does he want me dead?
“Take her away!” He growled, and moved away from me.
The guards came up, and dragged me up to my feet, hauled me over their shoulders and out of the pack house to the prison, the few hours I would stay before being persecuted.
I was thrown in and locked in the dark prison room, oblivious of where I was, and the fact that I was going to die in a few hours.
“Aria.” I heard a soft voice called. I sniffed and wiped the tears off my face, I scooted closer to the iron bars, and stared into the face of the man that called me.
“It’s me, Soren.” He said in a whisper. His hand reached out to my hand against the iron bars.
Soren was almost the same height as Kade but was shorter, with light brown hair and mischievous green eyes. I knew when he came to the pack, he was a rogue that Alpha Rowan accepted into Silverwolf, and he has always been kind to me.
“Don’t worry, I will find a way to get you out of here.”
“Ava.” I muttered.
“You’re in no position to worry about Ava right now!”
He squeezed my hand against the iron. “Listen to me Aria, I won’t let you get killed.”
“There’s nothing you can do, Alpha Rowan…” I choked on my words and was at the edge of breaking down.
His hand stretched out into the small space between the iron and wiped the tears that were about to roll down my cheeks. He brushed them off with his thumb.
“Nothing is going to happen to you, believe me.” He assured me. “I’m going to find the key to the prison door, and you’re going to escape, don’t ever look back.”
“It’s going to get you killed, Soren.”
“It doesn’t matter, make sure you do as I say, understand?”
Before I could say another word, he left my side in a hurry and I didn’t even hear the sound of his feet when he left.
I leaned back against the wall, with my hands wrapped around my body.
Soren came back, there was blood stain on his clothes, he held the key and opened the door of the prison gate.
“Soren…”
“Don’t worry about me, go now. Take the woods.”
“Run, Aria.” Soren whispered as if he was pleading. “Don’t get caught, and I will come find you.”
The moment I was let out, I ran as fast as my legs could carry, and diverted into the woods.
I didn’t know how long I had been running when I heard voices behind me.
“Alpha Rowan wants her dead or alive.”
“As long as we capture her, it doesn’t matter if she lives or dies.” Another wolf remarked and I swallowed the lump on my throat.
Their eyes darted at me dangerously, and they charged forward. I ran out of the hiding spot behind the tree but one of the men grabbed me by the hair and pulled me backward. I crashed into the ground.
“What made you think you could run away?” One of them snarled.
I groaned, and stood up from the ground “Fuck!” I heard them curse and come after me.
Before I could make another turn, one of them was in front of me, baring his teeth.
I screeched to a halt, and squatted to pick a stone from the ground with some sand in it, and projected it on his face.
He groaned with his eyes shut, and I took the other narrow path in the woods and continued running.
I hadn’t gone far when I was caught by two of them, one was in front of me and the other was behind.
The one behind kicked me on my back with his feet, and I tumbled forward, and the one in front flipped me to the ground.
“You stupid wolf.” They snarled.
I panted, and crawled backwards, one of them pulled me up with the hem of my dress tearing it, panic set in, and the sands with which I had gathered in my hands, I threw it in his face, and elbowed his neck.
His claws dug into my shoulder and pinned me down to the ground, I yelped out in pain as blood streamed out of my shoulders.
“Get away from her!” I heard the sound of a deep growl, with a shallow breath I tilted my head to the sound of the voice.
“Rowan wants her dead!” The wolf snarled in response.
“You won’t dare to touch what’s mine!”
The face became clearer, and his blue eyes had gone darker.
Alpha Damon.
Aria.“Where is she?” I heard Alpha Rowan scream. “Where is that good for nothing she wolf? Where the fuck is she?” I knew he was talking about me, the only servant in the manor. I dropped the scrubs I was using on the floor and wiped the beads of perspiration off my forehead. “I am here, Alpha.” My voice sounded hoarse when I replied.“Didn’t you just hear me calling?” His hand left the railings at the top of the stairs and he made his way down. He was tall, muscular, dark-haired, and had round brown eyes, he was the stoned-faced Alpha of Silverwolf Pack. I lowered my gaze before he caught me staring at him. “I warned you to always answer immediately when you're called!” His hand sliced against my cheek. I swallowed the sound that almost came out of my mouth, years of experience had made me numb from the pain. “Why is my office not cleaned? I strictly informed you that I want my office cleaned because I am expecting a guest!” He spat in my face and pulled me by the ear. “You’r
Aria. The door swung open and Alpha Rowan screeched at me. “Aria, are you done cleaning?” He turned to the man in the room, towering over me, he leaned against Alpha Rowan’s desk now. “…Alpha Damon,” Rowan whispered. He was Alpha Damon but how did he know so much about me?How was he able to tell me such a thing when it was the first time I was seeing him? “Has she bothered you? She was supposed to clean and leave the office.” Rowan scrawled and stretched his hand to hit me. “This stupid girl,”I closed my eyes, and braced myself, ready to get hit. “Don’t touch her.” Alpha Damon’s voice rumbled through the room. His hand has coiled around the wrist of Alpha Rowan, Alpha Rowan was older than him, he was close to his forties, and Alpha Damon was probably in his mid-twenties but he wasn’t showing any respect for Alpha Rowan. He was taller than Alpha Rowan and more muscular. “What’s your name?” “Aria,” I replied. “Aria.” My name rolled off his tongue. “Leave.” He ordered. “She sho
Aria. The annual hunt was held outside the pack house and it was in the woods, Alpha Rowan invited some other packs to join in the hunt, so the woods were filled with wolves. Kade made me stay close to him during the hunt, and he didn’t go too far because he didn’t want to lose sight of me. “Stay close, Aria.” I had lost count of how many times he said that. He added that he didn’t want me to get close to the woods because he wouldn’t be able to look for me in the woods and I might end up getting hurt. So, I stayed close to Kade and watched him interact with the other warriors, making sure that each part of the woods was protected. “Aria, Alpha Rowan wants you to come to him, now, he said you should bring his flask which held his tea in it, to him.” A blonde woman said to me. “He said he needs it now before he starts the hunt.” “If I were you, I would get going.” She pressed on when I hesitated. I had brought the flask with me, and I wanted to inform Kade that I was leaving bec
