A contract

Aria.

The claws of the wolf were on my shoulder, digging deeper into my shoulders. While he stared at Alpha Damon, I wasn’t expecting him to be here or how he found me in the woods.

Alpha Damon growled, and took a step closer. “Let go of her.” He ordered using his Alpha tone.

The wolves left my side and I was panting heavily.

They bowed at him.

The wolf who had his claws on my shoulder turned, he glanced at me, and took his gaze back to Alpha Damon.

“We will follow you back to the pack house.” He snarled.

Alpha Damon ignored him and strode towards me, my left arm was around my right shoulders, pressing down the wound on my shoulder.

Damon squatted in front of me, he stared intently at me and I lowered my gaze, his fingers reached out to my hair and brushed them off my face.

“I don’t want to go back to Alpha Rowan.” I mumbled, blinking the tears off my eyes. “He will kill me.” I sniffed, his hand moved to the back of my head and placed it on his shoulders.

He whispered behind my ears. “I will ask you to trust me this time, let me handle it in my own way.” Without any notice, his arms swept me off my feet and took me in his arms.

I froze in his arms, shock written all over my face but the look on his face was unreadable, and his jaw was clenched tightly.

“Bare me with me for a while before you get treated, we’ll deal with this with Rowan first.” He grunted, and pulled me closer in his arms, I didn’t lean in, the blood on my body could stain his shirt. I didn’t want that but I don’t think he cared about it.

The wolves followed us just as they said they would till we got back to the pack house.

Alpha Rowan was pacing with his hands crossed at his back when we got there, Alpha Damon dropped me on my feet.

“We should have this discussion in your office, but if you chose to have it here, then it’s fine.” Alpha Damon stated, Rowan’s nose flared while staring at me.

“She’s a thief, she stole from me and also escaped the prison, that’s an offense and the only punishment for her is death!”

“Give her to me.” Damon blurted out.

He left my side and met with Alpha Rowan, he had suddenly gone quiet.

“You wanted an alignment with me, I will send a document that would contain everything that we’ve discussed, and we’ll become partners but before I agree to that…” He spared me a glance. “Aria will come with me, and we will sign the contract.”

A gasp came out of my mouth.

Rowan stared calculatively at Alpha Damon. “We’ll talk in my office.” He stretched out his hand to direct Alpha Damon.

“I will be back.” Alpha Damon muttered to me, and followed Alpha Rowan out of the lounge of the pack house, they took the stairs to his office.

I let out a deep breath, and stared at my shoulders.

It wasn’t healing this time, I don’t understand what was wrong with my body.

Sometimes it heals and sometimes it doesn’t and leaves a scar.

I looked for a seat, and sat on it.

I saw a foot in the brown sandals standing before me, I looked up and saw Kade. His brows were furrowed, and his hand was in a fist.

I stood up, but he forced me to sit back on the chair. He exhaled deeply, and ran a free hand over his face.

“Do you have any idea how worried I was?” He asked, his eyes roamed over my body. “I thought I was going to lose you without doing anything. Aria, I was so scared.” He held my both hands while he squatted in front of me, he lowered his gaze, staring at my hands, that had several bruises on.

“I know you Kade, you would have done something.”

“Rowan is Alpha and I’m just a warrior that has to follow his orders.” He muttered, I could tell the sadness that was laced in his voice.

“What about Soren?” I asked, he was the one who had let me out, and he promised he was going to meet me in the woods but he never came.

“He’s in prison.”

“He got caught?” I asked with my eyes wide open.

Kade nodded. “Alpha Rowan isn’t letting him off the hook.”

I swallowed, there had to be something I could do to help and get him out of there.

“You’re hurt, Aria. You should get treated.”

“Now, I need to know what Alpha Rowan has to say about me.”

“You know everything was a lie, you never stole from him the only problem we had was Ava.”

I fell silent when he mentioned her, I didn’t want to see her or talk about her.

Who knows, she could have been the one watching me.

Kade stood up, and moved away from me. I noticed the sudden change of his countenance, I turned to the side, and Alpha Rowan was coming down from the stairs with a mysterious smile on his face.

Damon was beside him, his hands stuck in his pocket, he had the same look on his face, barely readable.

When he got down from the last stairs, I lifted myself from the chair, and stood.

“I will be expecting tomorrow, Alpha Damon, only when you come with the rest of the documents, we sign the contract and you’ll take Aria except that she will spend the night here.” Alpha Rowan smirked. “You won’t leave the pack with her tonight.”

“I’ll do everything as we have discussed and you’ll get what you want.” Damon responded with a tight lip.

“Don’t not touch her.” He warned, the smile on Alpha Rowan’s face faded off.

He scoffed. “She should have been dead, I’m doing you a favor keeping her alive because of our agreement, which will be nothing but a piece of paper, that’s what saved her, Alpha Damon.”

“If she’s hurt more than this, consider our deal off.” Damon snarled, he walked to the couch that was on the lounge and picked up his jacket, I didn’t know it was there.

“You’re selling her off?” Kade spoke.

Damon stared at him briefly and took his gaze back to the button on his jacket. He strode towards Kade and tapped his hand on his shoulder. “It’s your duty to keep her safe tonight, I will take her away from you tomorrow.”
