Aria.

“I was about to leave. I didn’t plan to stay too long.” Lucian said and pulled away from me, he turned, and kept his gaze at Kade.

Kade glanced at me and then at Lucian. “She needs to rest.”

Lucian nodded. “I will be back tomorrow to check up on her.”

“You don’t have to…” Kade interjected, and strolled into the room.

Lucian simply nodded and didn’t say anything else. He headed towards the door and walked out of the room. He closed the door quietly behind him.

Kade exhaled when he was gone, he placed his hands on the bed.

“Be careful of him.” He mumbled.

I nodded slowly, I knew Lucian was someone that I couldn’t trust, and didn’t believe most of the things that he said but I needed him.

If I want to go against Alpha Rowan, I need him by my side, and I want Soren out of the prison too because he knows a lot since he was once a rogue before he came to the pack.

“Get some rest. I will sit here and watch you.”

“Why are you doing this Kade?”

“What do you mean why am I doing this? I thought you knew about all of it. I made my feelings quite obvious for you, Aria. I was ready to do everything if you let me, I would take you away from Rowan.”

“We’re not having this conversation, Kade.”

“That’s how you’ve been pushing me away.” He exhaled, took his hands away from the bed and folded it across his chest.

“I’m not pushing you away.”

“You never acknowledge my feelings for you either.”

I opened my mouth to speak but I couldn’t find the right words to say to him.

“It’s not a lie is it?”

“Kade.” I muttered.

He shrugged. “Maybe you need some time. I’m willing to wait for you, I’ll be here for you and I’m not leaving your side anytime soon as long as you still need me here.”

I took out my hand from the blanket, and touched his arm. He stared at my hand, the bruises had been treated. He held it with his large callous hand and squeezed it.

“Promise you won’t end up hating me?” I asked and blinked my eyes at him.

He pulled closer to the bed with his chair, his other hand went to my hair and he stroked it affectionately.

“I would never hate you, Aria.” He answered softly. “Get some sleep.”

I closed my eyes, the drugs were making me feel dizzy already but I felt his fingers on my hair.

I couldn’t tell him the truth, and Kade sees me as someone he wanted to protect but I was more than just being an omega without a wolf.

“Aria, wake up.” I felt a pair of warm hands shaking me slightly, I fluttered my eyes at the person standing over my bed.

“You've got to get up now.”

I rubbed my eyes so I could recognize the person that had the voice. I lifted myself from the bed, and stared at the man.

It was the doctor from yesterday. He looked terrified as if he had been threatened, and his hands shook beside him.

Is something wrong?

I wonder why he was acting that way?

“What is it?” My voice sounded hoarse when I spoke.

“Is she awake?” Another voice spoke, I didn’t know there was someone behind the doctor.

“Yes, Alpha.” The doctor bowed and stepped aside to reveal the man that was leaning against an empty bed at the other side of the room.

His eyes narrowed down at me.

I blinked my eyes to be sure he was the one in the room with me.

What was Alpha Damon doing here?

I thought I would get to meet him in the pack house.

He glanced at his wrist watch, and nodded before he pulled away from the bed, he made his way down to me.

He squatted, and roamed his eyes over my body.

I wasn’t in the same clothes from last night, I was in the hospital uniform, and Kade was here last night. I wonder where he had gone.

“You slept for a long time, it was almost 2pm. We need to get to my pack before night falls, so I ask the doctor to wake you up. You’ll get enough rest when we get home.” He said and smacked his lips together. He tilted his head to the side, and saw the doctor standing there. “Get out and get a nurse.”

“Y—yes, Alpha Damon.” He stuttered and scurried out of the room.

“Are you feeling any better?” He cupped my face in his arms. “Does it still hurt?”

I nodded, and he sighed and let go of my cheeks.

“I brought you some clothes, get dressed and let’s leave.”

He dropped a duffel bag on the bed beside me, a nurse came in, and Alpha Damon stepped out so I would be able to get dressed.

He came back after the nurse left me, the IV on my hand was taken away. I sat on the bed with my feet touching the ground.

“How long have you been waiting?” I asked when I finally found my voice again.

“Five hours.”

“You met with Alpha Rowan. What did you discuss with him, and how did you know where to find me?”

I stared at him.

“I told you, you had limited time with Alpha Rowan.”

“How did you know all of that, and those things you said about me?”

“It’s one of my gifts.”

“Prophecy?” I knotted my brows, and he nodded.

“And what contract did you sign with Rowan? He’s not someone you could trust.”

“What are you worried about Aria?” He took two long strides and stopped in front of me.

“Everything, Rowan is dangerous. I served him for years, I know how…”

His finger went to my lips, and he shut me up with it.

“I have got your things packed and we are leaving now. Don’t worry about Rowan or the contract that we signed. You belong to me now.”

I frowned, and yanked his fingers off my mouth.

“I don’t belong to anyone.”

He chuckled softly. “I keep wondering what’s making me attracted to you, I want to find that out. I’m curious about you, and you’ve piqued my interest.”

I huffed, there were a lot of things he was keeping away from me, and I hadn't been outside Rowan’s pack.

If he sided with Rowan and formed an alliance, Alpha Rowan would become very powerful.

He pinched the bridge of my nose. “Little wolf.” Then he smiled, and pulled me into his arms from the bed.

“I can walk!” I protested and tried to fight him off but the little fist I threw at him didn’t move him.

“You didn’t have any shoes and stop touching me that way, you’ve no idea what you’re doing to my body.”

He smirked at me when I stopped wriggling and fighting him, I allowed him to take me out of the infirmary in his arms.

I didn’t know if I should ask him about Kade, and if he knew what happened and why he wasn’t in the hospital when I woke up.

I kept quiet and watched him from under my lashes, staring at the features of his face.

We got to his car, the door was opened, and he dropped me inside the car, taking the spot next to me.

“We are taking a chopper, my Beta will drive us there.” I stared at the man behind the wheel, I could only see the back of his red hair.

We said nothing else throughout the ride, I glanced at the window, staring at the passing scenery. I was leaving the pack, and I don’t know what I should expect from Alpha Damon’s pack.

Would I be saved completely or I would fall into my own doom?

So I left and went to attend to the words of the Alpha. He was in some sort of discussion with Alpha Damon when I came to his office, he looked over some documents with him. His face held a smile of satisfaction. He looked that way because he was getting what he wanted, an alliance in exchange for Aria. I have known Aria ever since I started working as a pack warrior, she was made to serve the warriors' foods and take care of some of their needs. Everyone knew her, because she was the pack slave. Aria. I woke up in a comfy bed, soft and luxurious. My lashes flapped, and I stood up slowly from the bed, and rubbed my eyes. I had left for what felt like a century, the last thing I remembered was when I was in the car with Alpha Damon, what happened after, I didn’t quite remember. I pushed the covers off my body and stood up from the bed, the room was twice the size of the entire room in the servant quarters at Rowan’s Pack. Beside the wardrobe, the things were on the floor, he had brought them over to his pack. The door opened abruptly, and startled me. Alpha Damon cleared his throat. “…I didn’t know you were awake. The last time I came in, you were asleep. I wanted to check up on you.” He stepped in, and stood in front of me. I pointed a finger on my dress, I wasn’t on this dress when I left the pack. “A maid changed it for you and…” I raised my brow, waiting for him to say the word. “…and she said there were some scars in your body.” My brow creased with a frown. “I

Damon. “…that you’re my mate.” I wanted to see the look on her face when I said that, her eyes widen at me and she wanted to speak because her lips parted but no words came out of her mouth. “It’s just a rumor or a gossip. You shouldn’t think that much about it and I would have anyone who goes around spreading such rumors punished.” I responded, and walked out of the room. I didn’t want to stay any longer in her presence, I got angry and mixed emotions each time I was by her side. I had seen the scars on her body when she was undressed, I was infuriated by it. I wanted to do something to Rowan, and went back to Silverwolf Pack but I didn’t meet at the pack house. I was informed that he had gone for a meeting. I couldn’t wait because I had to go back to the pack and check on Aria.I left a word for him. “Alpha, the council wants a meeting with you…” My Beta informed me as I stepped into my study room. “When did you get here?” I glanced at him over my shoulders. “About an hour.”

Aria. Alpha Damon wasn’t around for dinner as he said he would, I was served dinner in the big dining room alone. I thought of Kade, I had always eaten with him, and I never felt alone in the kitchen with him but now I missed his presence around me. I was able to eat just little from the meal that I was served, and went back to my bedroom, I started to unpack my things that was brought to the pack. There was clothes in the wardrobe already, I wonder how Alpha Damon was able to get that all. I took out the only stuff I had left from my family, and slowly slide down beside the bed, glance through it. I found my mom’s diary among the things in the small box, and my Alpha’s crest and Alpha. There was a necklace which my elder brother Drayton had, he shared the same thing with me. I took them out, and smiled faintly at it. I kept it aside and picked up Mom’s diary, I have never read through it completely. I placed it on my lap, and started to flip through the pages, brushing against

I had seen his face before, I couldn’t remember where I had seen him but he was part of the council. I wanted the meeting to end quickly so I could go back to my pack and see Aria. I had been busy for the past few days, and hadn’t been able to see her. “…and we’ll think about how to make changes in our pack and make the Moonlit Gala eventful as well.” The Chief Elder was giving a round up speech. They said joining hands with the Silverwolf pack was a good thing to do since I had never interacted with any Alpha packs before. Well, whatever they say. “This would be the end of our meeting…” He said, and I stood up, the next meeting, I wasn’t sure I would be of any attendance to it. “Alpha.” A voice stopped me, I turned and spared him a stare. Now, I have watched Damon walk out of the dining room, his countenance has changed in a split of a moment. I couldn’t call him by his name but I was used to addressing Alphas as Alphas. I wanted to say it to him but instead, I had just watched him leave. “Would you have breakfast now?” A maid asked when she knocked on my door. “What about the Alpha?” “He left.” I sighed. “I will have that later.” I replied and went back to bed, Iay on it shortly before another knock came in. Why did you think I trained so hard to be part of the warrior in the pack?” He kept quiet, I paced behind them, because neither of them were saying a word. “Why do we have to stay, we can move from the pack and maybe heal from the past, staying here will only bring memories.” “You never spoke about this before.” Dad muttered, and exhaled deeply. “We’ve been here since it happened, why do we have to move now?” “I thought there

Rowan thought that he stood a chance against Aria and Damon but he wasn’t able to get past just Aria. Aria. The night was dark, there wasn’t even a moon in sight, I had felt, that something was coming, and we were getting prepared. The pack had been busy and everyone seemed to be preoccupied with one thing or the other, we hadn’t had a chance to discuss with each other and we had all been busy. “…I think they are coming this way,” Liam said as he met with me at the balcony, we were all gathered at the pack house but at different places at the moment. “They couldn’t wait.” “Knowing Rowan, that’s how he acts, and he does that fast because that’s how he thinks as well.” “So he’s coming here thinking that we aren’t prepared for him or what?” “He could think that way, that he’s about to launch an attack on our pack, and get all of us in one go, that’s probably what he’s planning.” “Then he must be stupid thinking we are just going to wait for him to attack and not do anything about it.” I tapped my hand on the railings and we stared ahead into the night. “Why did you leave Rowan?”

The wound that I had sustained was very deep, and it took time for it to heal completely, but still, it left a scar on my shoulder. “I’ve to get Aria back. I didn’t hear from Denon and that only means that she must’ve been awake. That’s the reason he didn’t come back to find me, else he would have done that.” I tossed the bandage on the ground and exhaled. He blinked his eyes at me and wasn’t saying much, I frowned at the reaction that I got from him. “I thought we were in this together.” “You never told me about your plan to get married to her.” He said. “Well, it didn’t quite work out, did it?” “You should’ve told me about it, but you didn’t.” “You are hiding something from me too ain’t you?” I raised my brow at him. “Why don’t you take off your mask and then we can know if it’s worth it to trust each other.” He ch

Aria. The Alpha of the Crimson Pack knew who I was, and he didn’t hesitate to allow me into his pack, the second that I arrived there with Damon. He was the one who saved me that night, that’s what he told me. We followed him into the Pack, and his office, his pack wasn’t as big as Damon’s Pack, and his pack members were minimal, I wondered how someone like him could hold that power when he wasn’t even equal to most of the strongest and powerful packs in the country. “…I wasn’t the one who had bound your powers.” He said, and I raised my brows at him. “Then who did?” “Have a seat.” He gestured to Alpha Damon and me. “It was your mother.” He replied, and I blinked my eyes at him. “My mother did that?” “Yes, she did it at the very last minute, and had your powers bound, she wanted to protect you from him.” “You sounded like you knew my mother.” “I did. She grew up in our pack,” “When her pack was under attack, she requested help, but it came late, and when we got there the pa

I stared at Damon after she had shamelessly left the house, he was quiet, and we were all seated in the living room. “…we went to bury him today,” Kade said he was the one who broke the prolonged silence. I took my gaze away from Damon and stared at him. “You should have woken me up,” I muttered. “We didn’t want to bother you, and knowing how you feel about Peterson. We thought it was better to leave you out of it and tell you after, it wasn’t nice there, the one you saw here was worse than what happened there. His family was so tucked up.” Kade sighed. “I never liked him but, I could tell he had a lot held in him, and must’ve been through so much. Seeing the family he came from, I kind of pity him a little bit, they didn’t care about him or even choose to respect him on his last day.” Kade clicked his tongue. “…all they did was blame the Alpha for what happened.” Damon excused himself from our midst and took the stairs to his bedroom. I wanted to go after him but Soren sh

Damon had my bathroom prepared and made me get into the bathroom, he carried me down to the bathroom and placed me on the bathtub, he washed my hair gently, I could feel his tender fingers on my scalp and didn’t want him to stop. I bathed and left the bathroom with him, and he chose the clothes that he wanted me to wear before I could rest for the night. Next, he served me breakfast, and after I was done eating, he lay next to me on the bed and watched me. His fingers stroked my hair affectionately. “I had my hopes up…” His voice came up, and I leaned closer to him. “I thought I might not be the one that will end up as your mate and even if it wasn’t me, I was going to do what I had to, but I did hope that I ended up being your mate. My wolf wanted more, and she didn’t seem to be satisfied with just kissing him, she wanted more at this rate, taking all of him, wanting to mate with him and have him claim us as his mate. We wanted our scent to be mixed with his, which would make us off limits, and everyone would know that I was his mate. He pulled away from the kiss and grazed his finger on my lips. She made her way down to the bed, and we followed closely. “Alpha Damon.” Soren stared at us. “We brought a witch.” Liam replied, “…she’s here to help Aria, and there’s a chance that she will survive it.” “I heard witches were hard to find and compile with, and how were you able to get one.” “We had no choice, and waited for her to come to us.” Liam sighed and walked to take a seat. “Glad, she wasn’t as harsh as I thought.” “You thought witches are harsh?” She smirked at Liam. “Ai
