Aria.
“Take her away, Kade and keep an eye on her.” Alpha Rowan ordered, the moment Alpha Damon walked out of the pack house. He stared at me before he left, his eyes filled with worry, he looked like he didn’t want to leave me there with him. “Alpha, you haven’t…” Alpha Rowan cut him off before he could complete his words. “You heard what she did Kade, do you expect me to keep someone like that beside me again? And you were going to help her escape the pack. Do you think you’ve any right to question me at this moment?” Kade exhaled and lowered his head in submission at Rowan’s outburst. “Alpha, everything is a lie, and nothing like that was going to happen.” Kade protested, I stepped closer to him and touched his arm and shook my head at him. I didn’t want him to argue with Alpha Rowan. He sent wolves to have me killed, he could do worse to Kade, and it wasn’t something I wanted. I don’t want to lose him. “Are you going against my orders?” Alpha Rowan barked, I shook my head, and nudged Kade to speak to him and apologized. He was being adamant, and this wasn’t the time for it. “Kade.” I whispered his name. He turned and stared at me “…can you just take me away from here, I don’t want to stay another moment with Alpha Rowan here and I’m in pain.” He bit his lower lip hard and took his gaze back to Alpha Rowan. “I’m sorry, Alpha. I will take Aria away now.” Alpha Rowan snorted, and looked the other way. Kade took my hand and led me out of the pack house, he took me to the infirmary. I was made to lay on an empty bed, and Kade went to get the doctor. He came back with Kade, and I was being checked. The brown eyes of the doctor narrowed at my wound on my shoulders. I blinked my eyes at him as he stared. “Is it bad?” Kade asked, standing close to the doctor. He adjusted his glasses and cleared his throat. “A bit, the claws went deep but she will be fine and it’s quite advisable she doesn’t use her shoulder for a while, it will heal faster that way.” “It’s because she has no wolf is it?” Kade’s face was squeezed with worried wrinkles. The doctor nodded in response to his questions. “Are there other wounds?” He glanced at me for a brief moment, and returned his sharp gaze to the lanky doctor. “There’s bruises around her rib cage, her arms and her…” “It’s enough.” I chipped in, and sighed. My whole body has scars which I didn’t want Kade to see, I didn’t want to see those pitiable look on his face. “Just get it treated.” I said to the doctor. “I will do that Miss Aria.” I was getting treated, and Kade decided to take a walk out of the room. I was left with the doctor and a nurse. I had taken some painkillers, but it didn't help much. Someone came into the room, he stood by the door for about a minute before he revealed himself and moved closer to the bed. I scoffed when I saw him, he took his hands from his pocket, and breathed out. “Aria.” I averted my gaze from him, and at the white ceiling, the Doctor finished with the bandage on my shoulder. He bowed to Lucian who stood behind him and left the room with the nurse. “I didn’t know…” His words trailed off. “You didn’t know…” I snickered, and gave him a stare. “You were the one who told me the Alpha wanted to see me, and I’d almost lost for life for something I knew nothing about.” I expected to say that he didn’t know, he was part of the council and a strategist like him had no idea what Rowan was planning, it sounded like a joke to me. “I won’t do anything that would put your life at risk, Alpha Rowan wanted me to find you, I had no idea what his plan was…I’m sorry. I don’t know, I think you hate me for what happened…” He stepped closer to the bed, and stepped when he was close enough to me. “I hurried over to the pack house when I learnt what happened, and I came here to find you, Ava told me Kade took you here.” Ava again? “I should have come sooner.” “And do what?” I rolled my eyes. “I could have come up with a plan, and found a way to talk to Rowan, I never knew about this Aria, believe me.” “You work for the Alpha.” I pointed out. “Kade does too, why do you treat me differently from him?” He mumbled quietly. “I think you already know why, Mr. Lucian.” I drawled out, and turned to the other side of the bed. He leaned on the bed. “I’m sorry.” “If you are indeed sorry for what happened, and prove that you’re not with Rowan on this.” I stated. “How?” He inquired. “Get Soren out of prison.” Lucian chuckled softly and I was forced to spare him a glance with a frown on my face. Did he think I was making a joke? “That’s not a joke.” The smile on his face faded off, and he straightened himself, his hands crossed over his chest. “Is that all you want me to do?” I nodded curtly. “I will get him out before tomorrow morning.” He said with utmost confidence. “How?” I furrowed my brows. “I don’t have to remind you of my work, Aria.” I rolled my eyes. “At least you know my name.” He chuckled and just stared at me, the look of relief washed over his face. I wouldn’t believe that someone like him was worried about me. He didn’t seem like it, Lucian was always cold and distant. “You should get some rest.” He picked up the blanket, and helped me to settle into the bed comfortably, he covered me with the blanket. “Is someone watching over you tonight?” “Kade is with me.” His lips quirked “Your bodyguard.” His hands were on each side of the bed, and I was trapped in the middle while he stared intently into my face for a moment which felt too long. “Get away from her.” Kade growled from the door.Aria. “I was about to leave. I didn’t plan to stay too long.” Lucian said and pulled away from me, he turned, and kept his gaze at Kade. Kade glanced at me and then at Lucian. “She needs to rest.” Lucian nodded. “I will be back tomorrow to check up on her.” “You don’t have to…” Kade interjected, and strolled into the room.Lucian simply nodded and didn’t say anything else. He headed towards the door and walked out of the room. He closed the door quietly behind him. Kade exhaled when he was gone, he placed his hands on the bed. “Be careful of him.” He mumbled. I nodded slowly, I knew Lucian was someone that I couldn’t trust, and didn’t believe most of the things that he said but I needed him. If I want to go against Alpha Rowan, I need him by my side, and I want Soren out of the prison too because he knows a lot since he was once a rogue before he came to the pack. “Get some rest. I will sit here and watch you.” “Why are you doing this Kade?” “What do you mean why am I doing
Kade. I left the hospital because Alpha Rowan needed me in the pack house. I couldn’t disobey him because he was Alpha, and the leader of our pack. I didn’t want to leave Aria alone in the hospital, she was sound asleep when I left and the doctor said she was recovering quite well and there was no cause for me to worry about her in the hospital. So I left and went to attend to the words of the Alpha. He was in some sort of discussion with Alpha Damon when I came to his office, he looked over some documents with him. His face held a smile of satisfaction. He looked that way because he was getting what he wanted, an alliance in exchange for Aria. I have known Aria ever since I started working as a pack warrior, she was made to serve the warriors' foods and take care of some of their needs. Everyone knew her, because she was the pack slave. But I didn’t like the way she was being treated in the pack house, and I wanted to protect her in my own way. If I could I would have taken he
Aria. I woke up in a comfy bed, soft and luxurious. My lashes flapped, and I stood up slowly from the bed, and rubbed my eyes. I had left for what felt like a century, the last thing I remembered was when I was in the car with Alpha Damon, what happened after, I didn’t quite remember. I pushed the covers off my body and stood up from the bed, the room was twice the size of the entire room in the servant quarters at Rowan’s Pack. Beside the wardrobe, the things were on the floor, he had brought them over to his pack. The door opened abruptly, and startled me. Alpha Damon cleared his throat. “…I didn’t know you were awake. The last time I came in, you were asleep. I wanted to check up on you.” He stepped in, and stood in front of me. I pointed a finger on my dress, I wasn’t on this dress when I left the pack. “A maid changed it for you and…” I raised my brow, waiting for him to say the word. “…and she said there were some scars in your body.” My brow creased with a frown. “I
Damon. “…that you’re my mate.” I wanted to see the look on her face when I said that, her eyes widen at me and she wanted to speak because her lips parted but no words came out of her mouth. “It’s just a rumor or a gossip. You shouldn’t think that much about it and I would have anyone who goes around spreading such rumors punished.” I responded, and walked out of the room. I didn’t want to stay any longer in her presence, I got angry and mixed emotions each time I was by her side. I had seen the scars on her body when she was undressed, I was infuriated by it. I wanted to do something to Rowan, and went back to Silverwolf Pack but I didn’t meet at the pack house. I was informed that he had gone for a meeting. I couldn’t wait because I had to go back to the pack and check on Aria.I left a word for him. “Alpha, the council wants a meeting with you…” My Beta informed me as I stepped into my study room. “When did you get here?” I glanced at him over my shoulders. “About an hour.”
Aria. Alpha Damon wasn’t around for dinner as he said he would, I was served dinner in the big dining room alone. I thought of Kade, I had always eaten with him, and I never felt alone in the kitchen with him but now I missed his presence around me. I was able to eat just little from the meal that I was served, and went back to my bedroom, I started to unpack my things that was brought to the pack. There was clothes in the wardrobe already, I wonder how Alpha Damon was able to get that all. I took out the only stuff I had left from my family, and slowly slide down beside the bed, glance through it. I found my mom’s diary among the things in the small box, and my Alpha’s crest and Alpha. There was a necklace which my elder brother Drayton had, he shared the same thing with me. I took them out, and smiled faintly at it. I kept it aside and picked up Mom’s diary, I have never read through it completely. I placed it on my lap, and started to flip through the pages, brushing against
Damon. I paid less attention to what they were saying at the council meeting but I did catch the eyes of a man staring at me throughout the meeting. I had seen his face before, I couldn’t remember where I had seen him but he was part of the council. I wanted the meeting to end quickly so I could go back to my pack and see Aria. I had been busy for the past few days, and hadn’t been able to see her. “…and we’ll think about how to make changes in our pack and make the Moonlit Gala eventful as well.” The Chief Elder was giving a round up speech. They said joining hands with the Silverwolf pack was a good thing to do since I had never interacted with any Alpha packs before. Well, whatever they say. “This would be the end of our meeting…” He said, and I stood up, the next meeting, I wasn’t sure I would be of any attendance to it. “Alpha.” A voice stopped me, I turned and spared him a stare. His hands were stuffed in his pocket when he approached me, he took them out when he got clo
Aria. I have been locked in my room all day, reading through mom’s diary for a thousand times till each of her words rang in my head. I didn’t know who I was going to go against Rowan, my wolf was still bounded, I couldn’t shift, and I did feel stuck. I couldn’t come out of my room, and talked to anyone. Now, I have watched Damon walk out of the dining room, his countenance has changed in a split of a moment. I couldn’t call him by his name but I was used to addressing Alphas as Alphas. I wanted to say it to him but instead, I had just watched him leave. “Would you have breakfast now?” A maid asked when she knocked on my door. “What about the Alpha?” “He left.” I sighed. “I will have that later.” I replied and went back to bed, Iay on it shortly before another knock came in. I groaned and stood up from the bed, annoyed and opened the door. “I told you I would have….” I swallowed the words back in when I noticed it wasn’t the maid that was there but the red haired Beta of A
Kade. “Is there another reason why you want us to move?” My father asked, he went to take a seat beside mom on the chair, he handed over a glass of water to her. “Dad, we can’t keep talking about you, you know the reason why we should leave. I think it’s better if we do, Mom hasn’t healed either since we lost Abby!” “Kade, that's enough.” He spoke quietly. “But you know that’s the truth and because since that day you’ve never asked me how I felt, Mom just never spoke about it, we tried to forget that it happened in the pack and nobody knew where Abby was. Why did you think I trained so hard to be part of the warrior in the pack?” He kept quiet, I paced behind them, because neither of them were saying a word. “Why do we have to stay, we can move from the pack and maybe heal from the past, staying here will only bring memories.” “You never spoke about this before.” Dad muttered, and exhaled deeply. “We’ve been here since it happened, why do we have to move now?” “I thought there
Author’s Pov. The fight was fierce, and there was a lot of blood, the moon didn’t come out as they thought it would. It was rather a dark moment in the pack, as it was covered with blood. Aria didn’t want them to kill either of them but wanted them to face judgement instead, they were defeated and then captured. Rowan thought that he stood a chance against Aria and Damon but he wasn’t able to get past just Aria. They were made to face the council, and Aria charged the other Alphas who came with Rowan for conspiracy. He denied that everything played out was a lie even when they attacked the pack. Abby had come in, he was surprised to see her, she came in with the help of Kade who held her since she couldn’t quite manage on her own. She started to bring evidence of what Alpha Rowan had done to her, her parents were in the courthouse as well, they came and brought evidence against Rowan. He couldn’t speak anymore or could defend himself for what he had done. Aria came up and re
Aria. The night was dark, there wasn’t even a moon in sight, I had felt, that something was coming, and we were getting prepared. The pack had been busy and everyone seemed to be preoccupied with one thing or the other, we hadn’t had a chance to discuss with each other and we had all been busy. “…I think they are coming this way,” Liam said as he met with me at the balcony, we were all gathered at the pack house but at different places at the moment. “They couldn’t wait.” “Knowing Rowan, that’s how he acts, and he does that fast because that’s how he thinks as well.” “So he’s coming here thinking that we aren’t prepared for him or what?” “He could think that way, that he’s about to launch an attack on our pack, and get all of us in one go, that’s probably what he’s planning.” “Then he must be stupid thinking we are just going to wait for him to attack and not do anything about it.” I tapped my hand on the railings and we stared ahead into the night. “Why did you leave Rowan?”
Rowan. “…isn’t it about time you take the mask off your face?” I asked with a groan and walked over to my desk, I sat down and took the bandage off my shoulder. The wound that I had sustained was very deep, and it took time for it to heal completely, but still, it left a scar on my shoulder. “I’ve to get Aria back. I didn’t hear from Denon and that only means that she must’ve been awake. That’s the reason he didn’t come back to find me, else he would have done that.” I tossed the bandage on the ground and exhaled. He blinked his eyes at me and wasn’t saying much, I frowned at the reaction that I got from him. “I thought we were in this together.” “You never told me about your plan to get married to her.” He said. “Well, it didn’t quite work out, did it?” “You should’ve told me about it, but you didn’t.” “You are hiding something from me too ain’t you?” I raised my brow at him. “Why don’t you take off your mask and then we can know if it’s worth it to trust each other.” He ch
Aria. The Alpha of the Crimson Pack knew who I was, and he didn’t hesitate to allow me into his pack, the second that I arrived there with Damon. He was the one who saved me that night, that’s what he told me. We followed him into the Pack, and his office, his pack wasn’t as big as Damon’s Pack, and his pack members were minimal, I wondered how someone like him could hold that power when he wasn’t even equal to most of the strongest and powerful packs in the country. “…I wasn’t the one who had bound your powers.” He said, and I raised my brows at him. “Then who did?” “Have a seat.” He gestured to Alpha Damon and me. “It was your mother.” He replied, and I blinked my eyes at him. “My mother did that?” “Yes, she did it at the very last minute, and had your powers bound, she wanted to protect you from him.” “You sounded like you knew my mother.” “I did. She grew up in our pack,” “When her pack was under attack, she requested help, but it came late, and when we got there the pa
Aria. I stared at Damon after she had shamelessly left the house, he was quiet, and we were all seated in the living room. “…we went to bury him today,” Kade said he was the one who broke the prolonged silence. I took my gaze away from Damon and stared at him. “You should have woken me up,” I muttered. “We didn’t want to bother you, and knowing how you feel about Peterson. We thought it was better to leave you out of it and tell you after, it wasn’t nice there, the one you saw here was worse than what happened there. His family was so tucked up.” Kade sighed. “I never liked him but, I could tell he had a lot held in him, and must’ve been through so much. Seeing the family he came from, I kind of pity him a little bit, they didn’t care about him or even choose to respect him on his last day.” Kade clicked his tongue. “…all they did was blame the Alpha for what happened.” Damon excused himself from our midst and took the stairs to his bedroom. I wanted to go after him but Soren sh
Aria. Damon had my bathroom prepared and made me get into the bathroom, he carried me down to the bathroom and placed me on the bathtub, he washed my hair gently, I could feel his tender fingers on my scalp and didn’t want him to stop. I bathed and left the bathroom with him, and he chose the clothes that he wanted me to wear before I could rest for the night. Next, he served me breakfast, and after I was done eating, he lay next to me on the bed and watched me. His fingers stroked my hair affectionately. “I had my hopes up…” His voice came up, and I leaned closer to him. “I thought I might not be the one that will end up as your mate and even if it wasn’t me, I was going to do what I had to, but I did hope that I ended up being your mate. Aria.” He confessed and I touched the bridge of his nose with a smile on my face. “My wolf chose you.”“What about you? Did you choose me?” “I did. We both did, Damon.” My hand moved down to his chest and he heaved a sigh of relief. He pulle
Aria. I didn’t say another word before he took me into his arms, he squeezed me against his body, holding me so tight as if I would disappear if he let me go and he didn’t want that. When he pulled away, he cupped my face in his hand, staring intently into my eyes, and slowly his gaze fell on my lips, and I kissed it.I didn’t wait for him to take any initiative, I took it, my hand wrapped around his neck, and he kissed back passionately. My wolf wanted more, and she didn’t seem to be satisfied with just kissing him, she wanted more at this rate, taking all of him, wanting to mate with him and have him claim us as his mate. We wanted our scent to be mixed with his, which would make us off limits, and everyone would know that I was his mate. He pulled away from the kiss and grazed his finger on my lips. He smiled at me, and we pulled away from each other. I had forgotten that they were in the room with me, when I turned, the bedroom was empty, and I didn’t know when they left the
Aria. I could feel my wolf, I felt her, it felt like the first time in forever, and she purred inside me. My wolf. I exhaled, and glanced around the room, staring at the strange face that had poked her face into me. She grinned and waved her hand at me. “I’ve lost some strength, hope you don’t mind if I rest up a little.” Her dark eyes were sparkling, and she didn’t smell like a wolf. “I’m not a wolf.” “Did you read my thoughts?” “Kind of.” And smirked. I glanced around and found six pairs of eyes staring down at me with concern. “She needs some time to rest.” The girl said to them, and she moved away from the bed, giving me some space. Kade sat at my right-hand side, Soren was on the left beside me and Liam stood. I reached out my hand to Kade’s face and touched it, he smiled at me and kissed my hand. I touched Soren as well, and he gave me a soft smile. “Thank you for coming back to us, Aria,” Soren muttered, his eyes glistening with tears. This was the man that they sai
Damon. We got to the Pack just like she said we would, and we used the portal that she opened. I ordered the rest of the soldiers that were in the Silverwolf Pack to retreat, and bring the chopper home. The portal opened in the bedroom of Aria, she was still on the bed, and Soren’s head was on the bed, he was resting. He lifted his head when he heard some sounds and was shocked to find us in the room with a strange-looking lady who didn’t have shoes on. She waved at Soren, and the portal closed up. She made her way down to the bed, and we followed closely. “Alpha Damon.” Soren stared at us. “We brought a witch.” Liam replied, “…she’s here to help Aria, and there’s a chance that she will survive it.” “I heard witches were hard to find and compile with, and how were you able to get one.” “We had no choice, and waited for her to come to us.” Liam sighed and walked to take a seat. “Glad, she wasn’t as harsh as I thought.” “You thought witches are harsh?” She smirked at Liam. “Ai
