Aria.

I have been locked in my room all day, reading through mom’s diary for a thousand times till each of her words rang in my head.

I didn’t know who I was going to go against Rowan, my wolf was still bounded, I couldn’t shift, and I did feel stuck. I couldn’t come out of my room, and talked to anyone.

Now, I have watched Damon walk out of the dining room, his countenance has changed in a split of a moment.

I couldn’t call him by his name but I was used to addressing Alphas as Alphas. I wanted to say it to him but instead, I had just watched him leave.

“Would you have breakfast now?” A maid asked when she knocked on my door.

“What about the Alpha?”

“He left.”

I sighed.

“I will have that later.” I replied and went back to bed, Iay on it shortly before another knock came in.

I groaned and stood up from the bed, annoyed and opened the door.

“I told you I would have….”

I swallowed the words back in when I noticed it wasn’t the maid that was there but the red haired Beta of A

Kade. “Is there another reason why you want us to move?” My father asked, he went to take a seat beside mom on the chair, he handed over a glass of water to her. “Dad, we can’t keep talking about you, you know the reason why we should leave. I think it’s better if we do, Mom hasn’t healed either since we lost Abby!” “Kade, that's enough.” He spoke quietly. “But you know that’s the truth and because since that day you’ve never asked me how I felt, Mom just never spoke about it, we tried to forget that it happened in the pack and nobody knew where Abby was. Why did you think I trained so hard to be part of the warrior in the pack?” He kept quiet, I paced behind them, because neither of them were saying a word. “Why do we have to stay, we can move from the pack and maybe heal from the past, staying here will only bring memories.” “You never spoke about this before.” Dad muttered, and exhaled deeply. “We’ve been here since it happened, why do we have to move now?” “I thought there

Aria. “I will take her home now, Mrs Smith.” I was back at the desk of the receptionist, and Peteson was beside me. “Send my regards to your Alpha.” Mrs Smith muttered, Peterson bowed, and turned to leave the hospital. I followed him to the car, and we left. Throughout the ride we were silent, I caught him stealing glances at me at intervals. Probably had something to say but wasn’t saying it. “Do you feel any better?” He eventually said when we were close to the house. “She’s a good doctor.”I nodded. “She knew I didn’t have a wolf.”He shrugged. “Everyone could sense that, if your wolf is absent we all know.”“You know I don’t have one.” He stared at me through the mirror in front of him in the driver’s seat. “I thought you everyone knows, I’m not left out of it.”I let out a deep breath, and faced the window. “That only explains why you had so many scars, you won’t be in and out of the hospital if you had a wolf, it could have saved you a lot and Alpha won’t have been dragg

Aria. “There’s someone you might want to see. He’s waiting at the living, you have been having a lot of guests visiting, Aria. How about you let them come live with us?” Peterson said as he opened the door for me, I gave him a side glare and stepped out of my room. “After you.” He gestured, and I took the stairs, and there was Lucian seated in one of the empty chairs. He was having a conversation with Damon, without being close I could feel the tension that was between them. They stared at me simultaneously, as if they had both noticed my presence. Damon had stopped talking, he rubbed his hands over his laps and leaned against the seat. “You should give us some time alone, I want to speak with Aria.” “And what if I don’t.” Damon retorted. I stared at them, wondering what was going on between them. “I want to speak with her alone, Alpha.” He drawled and kept a straight face. “This is my house.” “I will take her to my car then…” Lucian stood up, and proceeded to grab my wrist.

Aria. When I blinked my eyes, he was gone as there wasn’t a masked man just right in front of me. “What’s wrong?” I was startled when a hand touched me. I spun around, and saw Damon standing beside me. His hand squared my shoulders, and pulled me close to me. “It’s okay.” He whispered. “It’s me.” As if he had sensed my fears. He let go of my shoulder and held my hand, taking me out of the museum. He headed towards the car, and opened the door for me. “Get in, I will take you somewhere else.” I entered, and he closed the door. I hadn’t found my voice yet. He glanced at me when he started driving. “Did something happen?” He asked. I stared at me, I didn’t know how I was going to say it to him. That there was an attempt on my life at Silverwolf Pack, and Alpha Rowan’s judgement was also to have me killed. I didn’t know if it was a coincidence that such a thing was happening or if it was planned. If Rowan had any idea that I was the daughter of Alpha

Aria. “Who was that?” I asked Damon after he went out for a moment and came back afterwards. “I have taken care of it, you don’t have to worry.” He replied, and went back to put the apron back on. I tapped my fingers on the table and watched him. He threw a wink at me and stood beside the chef where I could see him turning on the gas. I sipped from the glass of wine slowly with my gaze fixed on him, he was done after some minutes. I didn’t quite check how long he was there preparing a meal. He came to me when he was done, and served the table. The Chef was behind him, holding another bottle of wine and two glasses. “This is Pan seared steak au poivre with garlic shrimps and roasted vegetables.” Damon said before he took a seat. “It’s not my favorite, if I want to make you my favorite, I would have to use my mom’s recipe. Here, have a bite.” He handed me a fork. I took it and tasted the meal on my plate and it tasted so damn good. I never knew Damon could be this good at cooking

Kade. “Get Kade in here right now!” I heard Alpha Rowan yelled outside his office, I was already there because I wanted to talk to him about transferring to another pack. Liam had stepped out of his office, and met me outside. His eyes roamed over my body for a moment. “Come in, Alpha Rowan wants you now.” He held the door of the office and opened it. I stepped into the office with a skeptical look at Liam. Alpha Rowan was seated on his desk fuming, his hand slammed against the table in front of him. I wasn’t going to ask if something was wrong, I wanted to talk to him about the issue that had been pending for days and he wasn’t saying anything about it. “Alpha about the transfer…” He lifted his hand, and made me clamp my lips shut. “Transfer?” Someone else spoke, and it wasn’t the voice of the Alpha but someone else. I looked into the office, and saw the figure that had his back against me, he was seated on the couch, and he was the one who replied to me. He stood up slowly,

Kade. I stormed out of the Alpha’s office, and hurried down through the stairs as fast as I could, breathing heavily. I was angry, my wolf needed to be let out and I needed something to let my anger out on. “Kade!” Lucian yelled my name. I ignored him as I kept heading out of the pack house. “Hold on for a moment.” I didn’t even spare him a glance, my jaw was clenched tightly as I kept walking. “Kade!”I heard his footsteps behind me as he ran towards me, and he grabbed my arm and pulled me back to face him when he got close. I yanked my hand off his grip. “Get the fuck off me!” I yelled at him. “I just wanted to talk to you, acting this way isn’t going to help any fucking thing.” “What does it mean to you? Acting this way…” I huffed. “You’ve no idea what just happened, and what I am about to do, so get the fuck off my path.” “You are not going to take Aria away from Damon are you?” “You heard the Alpha’s order.” I said through gritted teeth, Lucain exhaled and ruffled his h

And I got a note from Damon that he would be home late tonight. We haven’t had any deep discussion since then, I didn’t want to force him to talk to me. I realized he found it difficult to open up to me, whatever happened to him. I was flipping through my Mom’s diary on the balcony, I wanted to know what I should do. I felt I was being stuck and didn’t know what I should do or how I could come up with a plan. I saw someone waving a hand at me, and I lifted my head and closed the diary. Soren was outside, I didn’t know when he had come into the house. I stood up from the chair I sat on, and smiled down at him. “I will come to you.” He mouthed, and I nodded and held the railing, waiting for him to come to the balcony. Alpha Rowan. I swept everything off my desk with my hand angrily, Alpha Damon showing up in my pack was threatening enough. I wanted to be the first to do that but he beat me to it and came here instead. Why did he come here and cause trouble? He should have stayed away, why did he have to show up here and threaten me?Aria was his mate, how was that possible?Or it was all his plot to keep her, that girl doesn’t have a wolf in her, and Damon couldn’t keep someone like her beside him, a strong Alpha like him needs a strong Luna to stand by his side and not someone like Aria. It’s been two days since Damon came to the Pack and even when I thought about it, it pissed me off more than anything else. I collapsed back on my seat, and growled. If I had gotten his support, I would have been way through getting what I wanted, and what I would have been thinking was getting at the top of all Alphas but he had decided to ruin it. A knock on the door got me annoyed and I yelled at whoever

Damon. “I don’t trust her, Alpha or rather I don’t like her.” Peterson grumbled when we got to the Silverwolf Pack. “Why would you agree to do what she asked you to, it doesn’t make any sense.” “You trust me, don’t you Alpha?” I asked and tilted my head to the side, and glanced at him. “I do trust you, Alpha.” “Then you don’t have to worry about Aria.” His eyes were fixed on me the whole time he was speaking and while we drove to the front gate of the Pack house. The guards at the gate came to check the car, and bowed when they came close. “Tell your Alpha, we’ve come to pay a visit.” Peterson said as he looked away from me, and faced the guard. “Yes, Beta.” The guard nodded, and went out of sight. I took in a deep breath, and looked out the window. Though I could feel my Beta’s eyes on me. “Ain’t you bothered?” He asked. “About what?” I turned, and looked at him. “The girl.” “I have never brought anyone close without being sure of what I am doing…” The gate opened, and

Aria. We took a walk around the pack in the cool evening, Lucian was sipping a juice, his eyes were everywhere around the Pack. We talked about everything except the pending issue in the Pack and his work as a strategist. I never knew he could talk this much, he had this cold demeanor every time I saw him in Silverwolf Pack. We stopped at a park, there was a bench there, and in front of the park was an ice cream stall. Lucian went to get some of those ice cream and came back to sit with me on the bench. He handed one of them to me, and I took them from his hand, our hands brushing against each other. “His pack is beautiful.” He said in a low voice, and stared away from me. I hummed. “But I don’t think you should get that close to him. I think you’re smart, Aria. Resilient and strong, you shouldn’t let him use you. That’s one of his plans.” “I don’t think he’s using me.” “You don’t know him well enough.” He remarked, and I stared at the ice cream that was melting in my hand.

Aria. Lucian had been seated for a couple of minutes without saying a word, and I came back from the kitchen, holding a glass of water because he asked for that. I gave it to him, and sat close to him. He chugged down the glass of water, and kept the empty glass cup on the table. “Thanks.” He muttered. My hand reached out to touch his face, I brushed my finger against a bruise that was healing. He took my hand away gently from his face but he didn’t let go of it. “Did you get into a fight?” He chuckled and shook his head. “I’m too old for that.” “Then, how did you get that?” I pointed at the bruise on his face. “It was an accident.” I didn’t believe that, and he knew I wasn’t going to believe such a lie that he was telling me. “I can see the look in your eyes, you don’t believe me do you?” “I think you know the answer to that. It wasn’t just an accident was it?” I inquired. “How did you even see that?” I was quite observant, and I had stared at him for a while even at the

Aria. The plan that I had was for Alpha Damon to meet with Rowan in his pack, but I wasn’t quite sure it would stop him from coming after me and if he found out who I was, he wouldn't stop. I stood by the door of his bedroom as he dressed, he was about to leave the pack, he didn’t argue with him when I told him to go to Alpha Rowan. “Missing me already?” He asked, and smirked at him. I rolled my eyes at him, and walked closer to him. I tiptoed and helped him to fix his tie on his suit. He stared down at me. “You look pretty up close.” He muttered and I smiled at him and took my hands away from his tie and folded my arms. “What should I say when I get there? I was waiting for him to make a move at me or do anything stupid.” “And then what are you going to do?” I asked, and he lowered himself to my height. “What do you think I would do?” I shook my head. “That would cause a war between the packs, and it would lead to a disaster and I might not be able to do anything.” “Anything

Damon. “You wanted to know what my favorite meal was…” I was in the kitchen with Aria when we came back to Pack. She nodded, and I leaned close to her. “It was macaroni and cheese with meatballs. Do you want me to make that for you?” “I would love to eat that.” I smiled and went towards the gas, and turned it on. “I didn't know why I loved eating it so much when I was kid, maybe it was because she was always happy whenever she prepared it for me.” “You loved her didn’t you?” She asked and sat on the island, she had my leather coat on her fragile body. “I loved her.” I affirmed her words, and started preparing the meal for her. “My father was abusive, he was very violent.” I blurted out, I never wanted to say it out loud but I found myself telling her about it. When I glanced at her, the smile on her face had faded. I chuckled, and cut some apples for her. “It’s all in the past.” I brushed it off and didn’t want her to worry about it or give me any of those pity stares. “I w

Aria.I knew where to find Kade, if he wasn’t in the pack then there has to be a place that he should be. He had brought me here so many times if we wanted to get away from the pack, and then we would hid there till it was dusk. That was the first place that came into my mind, and it was the place I had run to, I didn’t even take a glance back but kept running until I got there and I never encountered any rogue on my way and neither did Damon’s men stop me from leaving. When I saw Kade outside, I hugged him from behind, my arms tightened around his body. “Aria.” He called my name calmly, and I nodded slowly against his body. “How did you know….” He exhaled softly and spun around, my arms dropped from his body, and I looked him up in his face, his eyes looked teary and sad. “Why did you come here?” He asked instead, and I got into his arms again. He held me close to his body and didn’t say another word. “You’ve to go back to the pack, Kade.” I muttered against his ear. His arms

Damon.“Alpha…” Soren turned to me just after Aria ran out. “Why would you let her go? Alpha Rowan is searching for her, his men are in the woods and you wanted her to take that part. What if she got caught?” He rasped and I had Just stared dumply at him. I knew about that, that Rowan’s men may be out looking for her. “That’s where you come in.” I said to him, he was the first wolf that impressed me with his skills, the first time he had come into the pack, he had sneaked in like some sort of thief. No one has been able to sneak into my pack in years, and I wondered how he was able to do it. I had run a quick background check on him and found out he was once a rogue, and he had helped Aria to escape the pack that night. “You want me to go after her?” “You’ll look out in the woods, and give signals if there’s any trouble. I don’t think anyone knows the woods more than you do, you’re always in and out of it. If Aria ever goes missing or Alpha Rowan hears that she left the pack. He’
