53. Rossie's Wrries

Marco had just landed his hips on the sofa when Rossie approached with searching eyes. Rossie, who had been waiting for Marco to return to the mansion, couldn't hold back his curiosity any longer. He immediately mentioned Caterina's presence at headquarters.

“I thought you would never return to the mansion again. Wouldn't living with Kate be more fun?”

Rossie folded her arms across her chest. Her eyes widened and her lips smiled sarcastically when she saw Marco's face, which looked surprised by her question. Now everything is clear. The reason why Marco rarely comes home to the mansion is Caterina. Rossie really wanted to know what was going on in Marco's mind, why the man was protecting Caterina and not killing her.

"What are you talking about?" Marco tried to avoid eye contact with Rossie. However, Rossie immediately caught her brother's gaze.

“Don't act like you don't know. I know that you hid Rossie in another base. Even I didn't know that you had a base there." It seems like you really want to hide Kate from me," inquired Rossie.

“Don't talk nonsense, Rossie!”

"Never mind, bro. Why are you hiding the carcass? In the end, the carcass will still be smelled even though it has been hidden in a faraway place." Rossie grinned slightly.

"You're following me?" Marco looked at Rossie's narrow eyes with a flat face.

"Obviously, I followed you because you always acted strangely. I already suspected that you were hiding something from me. However, I didn't expect that you would actually hide Kate. I thought you was just helping Leo find Kate's whereabouts."

Rossie caught her breath for a moment. She was very angry with what Marco did. However, bluffing Marco into killing Caterina immediately won't work. She decided to do it herself this time.

“I'm just implementing a new plan. You don't need to think anything strange, Rossie. I have succeeded in killing her father, and now I am looking for a way to kill her."

“Finding a way? I'm not sure you would do that because you seem to really like Kate. That's right, right?”

"No! Are you crazy, Rossie? How could I like it?"

"Correct. That's the craziest thing I've ever thought of, bro. And I don't want anything crazy to happen. Marco, you have to remember that Kate is our enemy! Don't ever fall for that bitch!” Rossie emphasized.

“I told you that I killed her father! And I'm looking for a way to kill her. I don't want to get my hands dirty, Rossie. I have a more painful way for Kate to die with revenge."

“What are you talking about, bro? I don't understand. So what makes you let Kate stay at that base if you don't like her?”

“No need to worry. I just pretended to be nice in front of her so I could poison her mind. I have to be someone close to her so I can indoctrinate her to kill Leo.”

“Tsk. How ridiculous. How could he possibly believe you? It's clear that our family is La Vendetta's biggest enemy." Rossie is still trying to revive Marco.

Marco was silent for a moment. He thought about sentences that could make Rossie believe very carefully. Because if he says the wrong thing, Rossie will definitely know that he really has feelings for Caterina. Rossie has indeed grown into a smart girl. He is also quite sensitive towards her brother. No matter how well Marco hides something, gradually Rossie will realize it.

Rossie landed her hips roughly beside Marco. Once again he glared and even dared to threaten that if Marco didn't kill Kate immediately, she wouldn't hesitate to blow up the base and burn Caterina to death inside. Suddenly Marco panicked. Rossie is not someone who bullies easily. However, once bluffing, she will do everything to perfect her mission.

Seeing how Rossie grew up among the mafia made Marco realize that his younger sister could easily kill Caterina. And Marco didn't want that to happen. He also tried to convince Rossie that his plan would work this time.

“Listen, Rossie. I killed Kate's father, but I told Kate otherwise. I said that Dante was killed by Leo, and Kate believed it. Now Kate is honing her fighting skills and also her ability to use firearms so she can take revenge on Leo. I don’t need to get my hands dirty, and they will kill each other on their own.”

Rossie chuckled sarcastically. She was doubtful about Marco's words because the woman knew that Caterina and Leonardo were both from the La Vendetta group. They had been together for years; there was no way Marco could just poison Caterina's mind like that. Still, it was impossible for Rossie.

"Are you sure Leo will die in Kate's hands, bro? You can't even fight Leo, let alone that damn woman!”

“Don't underestimate her abilities! I saw there was a fire in her eyes when Kate was practicing. She really held grudges deep in her chest. That's what will make Kate fight Leo. Besides, I'm sure Leo wouldn't dare kill Kate."

“What makes you so sure?”

“Because it seems Leo loves Kate. I could see how he was looking at Kate. Even though his face showed anger, there was something that made me sure because only a fellow man would realize it."

Again Marco was silent for a moment. Rossie was so articulate he didn't know what to say. All the statements made were easily reversed by Rossie.

“That's what I'm thinking right now. How can I get Kate to stay on my side and fully believe that Leo killed her father? But don't worry, because I already know Kate's weak point."

Rossie glanced sarcastically. She intimidates Marco without asking.

“She melts easily. Even though she looks tough on the outside, Kate is very easily carried away by her feelings. I just have to play with her feelings and be the person who supports her the most. I can suggest and poison her subconscious. Let her feel that I am a hero who protects and helps her get revenge.”

Instead of believing, Rossie laughed. According to Rossie, this was the first time Marco used feelings in his work. Whereas previously, in setting strategy, Marco prioritized logic. However, in this case, the man even put his common sense second.

“What if it's you who falls in love, and not Kate? Will that plan still work?”

Once again Marco didn't budge. Arguing with Rossie made him feel very cornered.

“You know what kind of man I am, Rossie.”

“Precisely because I know what kind of man you are. This isn't like the Marco I know. Looks like that damn woman managed to win your heart.”
