60. Fighting Over Kate

Marco, who was trying to defeat Leo's men, looked quite shocked when he saw Caterina come out from where she was hiding. He regretted Caterina's decision to surrender and tried to paralyze Leo's remaining troops so he could quickly approach Caterina. 

“No, Kate!” Marco asked hopefully. However, he did not dare to scream. Confessing his feelings in front of her was enough to make their relationship awkward. Marco just didn't want to make Caterina even more uncomfortable because of it. Even so, he was also not ready to lose Caterina now.

Leo raised his hand in the air, gesturing to his men to stop the attack because many of Marco's troops had died. Apart from that, the attack was stopped because Caterina had come out of her hiding place.

Caterina kept her distance from Leo. She deliberately stood next to a large flower vase in the corner of the room so that if at any time she felt threatened, Caterina could use the flower vase as a weapon. Her eyes were also busy watching the surroundings, making sure no one dared to approach her.

"What do you want from me?" Caterina asked. Her eyes bulged sharply, and her hands were tightly clenched at her sides. Knowing that Gabriel was lying in a coma with the help of medical equipment on his body made the woman even more hateful and angry. Now the woman not only carries her father's revenge but also revenge for what Leo did to Gabriel.

"You have to come home with me," Leo answered.

Marco shook his head. Because Leo's troops were no longer attacking, the man immediately ran over to Caterina and stood in front of her.

“No, Kate!” asked Marco.

Caterina looked into Marco's eyes; she saw a lot of sincerity there. However, Caterina could no longer accept that. If Marco continues to protect him, Leo will kill Marco. Just like what Leo did to Gabriel at that time. Caterina asked Marco to move aside with a movement of the head.

"You promise to stop this chaos if I go with you?" Caterina asked.

"Yes. We'll make peace and start all over again, Kate.”

Caterina laughed discordantly. “You think I'll believe it? After what you did to me before? I once trusted you, but you abused me. You also killed my father. You are not human; you are a devil! You're very different from Marco.”

Marco was surprised by what Caterina said. Knowing that Leo had taken Caterina's virginity made Marco very angry. He couldn't imagine what would happen if Caterina was brought home by Leo. Swiftly, Marco grabbed Caterina's hand and took a step forward, positioning himself in front of the woman he wanted to look after.

“Stand behind me,” he said in a soft but firm voice.

Marco's left hand was still holding Caterina's hand. This made Leo burn with jealousy and become very angry.

“Get out of the way, bastard! This is not a business matter and has nothing to do with the mafia world. I want Kate back because she was the doctor at La Vendetta. Don't make me angry because of the heroism you're doing!" Leo shouted to Marco.

“I protected her out of a humanitarian attitude. Look how scared Kate is of you. Why are you still forcing her to come home if she doesn't want to?” Marco interrupted.

“You see? Marco is very different from you. I don't need to worry when I'm around him. He takes good care of me," said Caterina, holding Marco's arm.

Not only Leo, but Rossie was also sick of seeing Marco and Caterina holding hands. Her blood seemed to be boiling. Her hands were clenched tightly, and her breathing was heaving.

“Ish, I should have killed that bastard! I'm so sick of seeing his devilish face," Rossie hissed from a distance.

“Don't talk silly, Kate. Have you forgotten who Marco really is?" Leo hissed.

“You're much worse than Marco!”

Leo glared sharply at Caterina's words. His teeth chattered, and his jaw tightened instantly. Seeing the anger in Leo's eyes actually made Caterina grin slightly. She wanted to prove to him that she too could do evil.

“You are not a human I can trust! You don't deserve to live."

“Do you trust the enemy more, Kate?”

"Correct. Because Marco is much more trustworthy than you.”

Marco looked at Caterina with an uncertain beat in his chest. He was happy to hear Caterina's words; he didn't expect that the woman would really melt because of his good attitude.

"Did you hear what he said? Now leave him and never come back here," said Marco, emphatically.

"I told you this is none of your business." Leo grinned slightly, then moved forward quickly and hit Marco.

Fighting is inevitable. Leo and Marco try to kill each other because they both want to get Caterina. Marco was defeated. Now, Leo walked over to Caterina and grinned sarcastically.

“Don't make me hit you, Kate. Do you have to be knocked unconscious first so I can take you, hm?” Leo got closer, but the anger in Caterina's eyes still didn't subside.

Marco got up with difficulty, then kicked Leo from behind so that the man fell. Leo's men immediately attack Marco, but Rossie helps fight them off. When Rossie and Marco managed to defeat Leo's troops, Rossie slapped her older brother.

“Look at the mess that woman made! I've told you many times to kill her immediately, but instead you helped her. Now look stiff; she made us all have to face Leo, right, bro?"

Rossie finally took out her anger on Marco. The girl couldn't hold it in anymore. She had been harboring anger towards Marco for days. However, she still hoped that Marco would come to her senses. The climax tonight, Rossie blamed Marco for Leo's attack tonight. Apart from suffering commercial losses due to a lot of damage to their base, Rossie and Marco also lost many of their men. Many of their men died at the hands of La Vendetta troops.

“Enough, Rossie. This is not the time to argue.” Marco tried to calm his sister.

Seeing Marco's gaze that couldn't leave Caterina made Rossie even more angry.

“What are you going to do? Let Leo take her away!”

"Don't touch her!" shouted Marco. Even though his face was battered, he tried to get up and talk to Leo.

"I agree to make peace. But please don't take Caterina," said Marco.

Leo, who had just gotten up, immediately burst out laughing.

“Will it be profitable for me? No. Enmity with you does not make me lose. Why should I reconcile with you?” Leo chuckled.

Marco could only grit his teeth. Because he just wants to live in peace. Marco even has the desire to marry Caterina. However, his lips could not express that.

“I need Kate; I don't need anything from you. Making peace with you or not will not make me leave Kate here because I will take her away one way or another!” Leo emphasized.
