Chapter 1.

CHAPTER 1.

Alexis is here in the living room of their home while studying because she has a quiz tomorrow. She should study this for her to have a passing grade.

She's already a graduating student this semester and she wants to have work already. She wants to help her parents with the finances that they need to live.

She's Alexis Ophelia De Luca, she's already in her fourth year college and after graduating, she promised that she'll be successful for her parents.

She owed them because they took care of her since she was a kid. That's why she decided to make a living for her to help them.

While she's studying, her mom and dad came home from their work. Both of them looks so stressed and tired.

Alexis immediately went to them and kiss them on their cheeks. They both smiled at her.

"Alexis, we need to talk about something. This is really important." The mom said and Alexis nodded. They all sit down on the sofa.

"Alex..." Her dad called her and Alexis immediately became worried because she felt like there is a really bad problem right now.

"We're so sorry but we can't provide you everything anymore. We both lose our jobs because of our age." Her mom explained.

"We can't pay for your tuition fee anymore. We're so sorry." She added and Alexis smiled at them and held their hands.

"It's fine. I understand." Alexis answered them. She thought that she really needs to find work for her able to pay for her tuition fees starting tomorrow.

"We're going back to our province and we can't take you with us." Her dad commented and Alexis nodded at him.

She understands the situation and she understands the reason why her parents can't take her with them.

Her parents' family hates her because she's not a real daughter of her parents. She's only their adopted daughter that's why.

The married couple found Alexis while she's living on the streets, alone. She doesn't even remember everything also what happened to her before that.

"But don't worry, we found you a new home. The owners of the mansion approved your stay there." Her mom said. Alexis accepted the card that she handed her.

"They also said that they will provide everything that you need. Like studies, finances, food, shelter, and more that you need." She added.

"I understand, mom. I'll be going there tomorrow afternoon after my class. Thank you for everything." Alexis hugs them both.

"We're really sorry, we really don't to do this but, we have no choice." Alexis shook her head sideways.

"I understand; you don't have to apologized." Alexis answered them and they hugged her tightly again.

"I should fix my things now. I want to be ready for tomorrow afternoon." Alexis commented then she went to her room.

While fixing her thing, her mom came into her room and she sat down on her bed while watching her.

"Alexis, always remember that we love you. You're like a real daughter to us." She said and Alexis stopped from what she's been doing.

"I know mom. I love you both as my parents. That will never change." Alexis answered then her mom smiled at her. Alexis continued fixing her things.

Two hours ago, before the married couple went home from work. Both of them are really worried about Alexis.

"What are we going to do now, my love? What will happen to Alexis' studies now?" The wife asked.

"That's what I was thinking too, to be honest. I don't know anymore." The husband stated then sighed.

While walking, they saw a signage from a big mansion and they both looked at each other.

"Let's talk to them for Alexis' sake. Maybe they'll hire her as a maid." The wife said then her husband nodded.

They both went towards the gate and push the button of the doorbell. Later on, someone opened the gate.

They saw a tall guy with a cold expression on his face. He looks at them and the wife immediately talk.

"We're here for the work. Our daughter needs work for her to live." She stated and the guy signaled them to come in.

They followed the guy then they looked around them. There is a big garden from the side and it has a lot of plants planted there.

When they arrived to the living room. The married couple sat down on the sofa and the guy sat down in front of them.

"Why your daughter isn't here? We need to talk and interview her first." The guy stated.

"We're sorry but, our daughter is at home studying for her tomorrow's class. She's Alexis Ophelia De Luca." The guy has a sudden change of expression on his face.

"She's our adopted daughter and she doesn't know where she came from or who are her parents." The wife stated.

"She didn't have a place to stay anymore that's why we came for her place for her to stay and continue her studies." She added.

"She's hired. We'll be taking good care of her and give her everything that she needs. She'll be safe here in our mansion." The guy said.

"Really?! Thank you very much, sir." The wife said then the guy gave his calling card to them.

"We'll be taking good care of her starting tomorrow. No need to worry about her safety." The guy stated.

"Thank you so much." The husband stated and they went out of the house to go home and tell Alexis about this.

~ NEXT DAY ~

Alexis is inside the classroom while answering her quiz. She's really happy while answering it because she already studied everything last night.

She already knows the answers to the question because she reviewed everything that needs to review.

"Last thirty minutes." The professor said and she smiled. She's almost there and she can finish the quiz in a minute.

"Ma'am? I'm done." She said when she already finished answering. The professor smiled then walks towards Alexis.

The professor grabbed her paper and read it. She took a deep breath first then looked at Alexis.

"You may now go, Ms. De Luca." The professor said then Alexis stood up and walk out of the room. Alexis leaned on the wall then sighed.

"I should go home now. I should go to the address and meet up with everyone there." She whispered and when she was about to go, she saw Zylo.

There are girls who are being crazy over him. They are all screaming for him to notice them but he's just ignoring them.

Oh, no. I don't want him to see me or else, he's going to bug me again and going to force me to be his girlfriend Alexis stated inside her mind.

Alexis ran towards the other way for her escape him. He's Zylo Russo – the most popular guy here in school. He can get everything that he wants except Alexis.

Alexis hates Zylo so much because of his bad attitude. He's arrogant, forceful, bully, and most especially boastful.

Alexis stops from running when she's already far away from her school. She looked around her and she didn't see anything.

Alexis sighed when she already escaped him. She walked towards home for her to get her things so that, she can go to her new home now.

Alexis already grabbed her things and started walking outside the house when her mom and dad came to see her. They both hugged her tightly.

"I'll miss you." Alexis whispered. "We'll miss you too." Her dad answered and he kissed Alexis on her forehead.

"I have to go. I don't want to keep them waiting." Alexis said then they both nodded. They accompanied Alexis until they reach the road.

"Be careful going there, okay? Take care." Alexis nodded. "I can take care of myself." Alexis said and kissed them on their cheeks.

"Please take care of yourself too. Please be safe." Alexis added to the and they held her cheeks and smiled at her.

"I have to go now." Alexis stated then started to walk away from them. She has to go now before she changes her mind.

She doesn't want to go away from them because she loves them as her parents. They took care of her even if she isn't their real daughter.

I'll always be their daughter, no matter what.

The married couple is watching Alexis walking away from them. They are both sad because they don't want Alexis to go.

"My love, did you notice that Alexis is really a mysterious girl?" The wife asked. The husband nodded at her.

"Yes, she's a very mysterious one but she's a kind and lovely daughter for us." The husband answered his wife.

"Yes, I know. That's why I love her so much." The wife answered and wipe her tears away because of the sadness that she's feeling.

"I wish that we can see her again soon. I love her so much as our daughter." The husband commented then sighed.

"Let's go back inside the house. Let's fix our things so that, we can go back to our province." The wife said then they went back inside.

When they went back inside their home, they didn't see the lady beside Alexis that looks like, she's accompanying her to go to her destination.
