Chapter 8.

CHAPTER 8.

Alric went to Alexis' room to check upon her again when he saw her not laying properly on the bed. He went towards her then he saw that she passed out again.

He immediately carried her to lay her down properly on her bed. He put the blanket over her then sighed.

"She passed out again. I wish that she won't be scared because of this or I wish that she's not going to think that this house is haunted." Alric commented.

He went out of Alexis' room to get some things to check her up and he also grabbed some warm water and clean white towel to take care of her for a while,

"You are my daughter, my dear Ophelia." The woman said. "I... am your daughter?" She nodded at Alexis' question.

"But..."

"Something happened that's why you don't remember anything, my dear Ophelia." The woman explained. She kissed Alexis' forehead.

"For now, I won't tell you what happened. I want you to remember them at your own but be careful, okay?" Alexis nodded.

Alexis hugged her tightly and closed her eyes to feel woman's warmth while she hugging Alexis.

"Be careful, there's a lot of people who wants you. Don't let your guard down." The woman added. When Alexid was about to ask her she passed out again.

Alexis woke up feeling something warm on her forehead. She grabbed that and it is a wet white towel. She looks around and saw Alric.

He's making a herbal medicine on the study table. She closed her eyes again then think about what happened.

She's my mother... I can't believe that I met her now. I'm happy to finally meet her even though, it's only in a dream. Alexis stated inside her mind.

"What do you feel?" Alexis opened her eyes and she saw Alric looking down at her. He sat down on the side of her bed.

"I feel okay but I still feel weak." She answered. He nodded then help her to sit up on her bed. She leaned towards the head board.

"Drink this. That is a herbal one. For you to get your strenght back." He said then she grabbed it. She drinks it for her to be okay.

After drinking the medicine, she gave him the glass. He held her forehead and neck. She thinks that he's checking her body temperature.

"You're fine. You to need rest for you to be okay by tomorrow." He commented. "Thank you." She answered him.

"That's nothing. If you need help, I'm here, all right?" She nodded at him. He went out of her room and she lay down again.

Alexis grabbed the white towel and put it on the bedside table. She stared at the ceiling then sighed. She should go and take a shower first.

She got up from bed then went inside the bathroom to have a shower.

While taking a shower, she's still thinking about her dreams. She can't believe that she'll meet her real mom from a dream.

If I keep on seeing her in my dreams, is that mean she's already dead? She thought and sighed.

She don't know what to think about the situation because she didn't know what to think of it anymore. She turned the water cold so that; it will relax her.

After taking a shower, she saw Aitan sitting down on the sofa. He looks at her and smiled. She walks towards him and sat beside him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. "I heard that you passed out again." He answered.

"Are you okay now? What happened? Are you sick?" He asked her with concern. Her heart begins to flutter because of his concern.

Why my heart is fluttering? Alexis asked inside her mind.

"I'm fine but I need more rest." She answered him trying to shake away the feelings that she feels right now.

"Let's talk while you're resting. Wait for me, I'll be back." He stated.

He stood up then went out of her room. She waits for him patiently here for him to come back.

After he came back, she saw that he's holding a tray with tea cups and tea pot. He put it on the table then sat down beside Alexis.

He pour the tea on the cup and give it to her. She takes it and tastes it. She smiled because she like the taste of the tea.

"You're the one who made this?" He nodded at her. "I like it." She commented and he smiled sweetly at her.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" She asked him. "I want to know more about you." He answered.

"What do you want to know?" She asked again. "How old are you? Why your parents gave you to us?" He asked.

"I'm 21 years old and my parents doesn't have work anymore to support me with my studies." She answered him. She leaned towards the sofa.

"They can't have work anymore because of their age. They're too old to work. That's why they gave me to you."

"They ask you to take care of me, support me with my studies, and everything and the payment there is to become a maid here." She explained.

"I see. I got that now. That's the reason why you're here." He commented then nod at me.

"And honestly, they're not my real parents, I'm only their adopted daughter but they treated me like their own." She commented.

"I treated them like my real parents too. That's why I love them so much and misses them now. But I can't see them because they went back to their province." She added.

"I'm sorry about that." She shook her head sideways. "It's fine. I already accepted that." She answered him.

"What about you? How old are you and where are your parents?" She asked him then took a sip on her drink.

"Our parents aren't here because they're busy with something else. I'm 23 years old." He answered her.

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"None. I'm not interested with women. They're annoying as hell." She looked at him without saying a word.

Is he generalizing us now? Alexis asked inside her mind again.

"Am I annoying you?"

"No... Except from you of course. I like you." Alexis' heart skip a beat because of what he said.

Is he serious about that?

Wait... Does like me as friend or something else? Why am I nervous all of a sudden? I hate this feeling.

Alexis' thoughts are now overflowing again inside her mind. She can't stop herself from over-thinking because pf she heard.

"Your face is red again. Are you sure that you're really okay?" She nodded at him. Aitan looked at her curiously and didn't say anything.

"Alric said that I'm fine so, I'm fine." She answered him. She avoided his gaze and forgot what he said to her.

"I'm serious about telling you that I like you. You're the girl that I let to be my friend. You should be thankful."

"T-thank you." Alexis wish that her heart should stop beating so fast. She can't take it anymore. Is this the effect of this tea?

"Aitan, I like you too as my friend." She told him then his cheeks became red. She smiled when she saw his cute side again.

"You're really cute."

"Men doesn't want to be called cute, you know?" She only smiled at him then he frowned. He drinks his tea silently while still Alexis is staring at him.

She really like this side of him. She's enjoying to see more and she wish that he's going to let her see it.

"Thank you for helping me to relax." She commented then drink her tea silently with him.

Here in some part of the world, there is a big castle and it is from a dark world wherein, different vicious and dangerous beasts are living.

Inside the castle, there is a guy that looks like a royalty and he is standing in the throne while looking at someone.

"I want you to come there and be with her to protect her and make sure that she is safe." The guy said seriously.

"Yes, your majesty. I will protect her with all of my life. I'll do everything just to make sure that she is safe." Someone answered.

"I'll bring my sister with me just to make sure that she is really safe."

"You may now go. Be safe and arrive there safely." The majesty stated then turn his back. He sighed then looked up.

I need to make sure that she is really safe from harm before it's too late.
