It was dark and silent by the time we got back to our hotel room. The cool night breeze caressed our skin gently and the moonlight shone through the windows, serving as our only source of light, since we didn’t turn on the ones inside the room.

It was a perfect night, or at least it would have been, if not for Alex’s change in behavior. Ever since we left the club abruptly, he had been acting all strange and on the edge, confusing me.

“Alex, what’s wrong? You’re acting really weird. You’ve been acting like this since we left the club. Is it because of your talk with Geri?” I frowned, touching his arm gently.

He sighed, giving me a weak smile. “Yeah, I’m a bit distressed, Lucian is looking for us severely, but in the process, he puts the whole pack on lockdown. Security is tight, in and out of the border and even worse back in the house. I’m sorry, but Geri can’t access Star anytime soon. She has bodyguards around her everyday and everywhere she goes.
