I cracked my knuckles, feeling a little bit anxious about the whole thing. I was relieved that Kai is helping me, obviously, but I couldn’t help but be worried still.

Maybe it’s my paranoia talking, or maybe because it’s been a while since I’ve trusted anyone other than Martha and Geri.

“Alex, it’s good to see you again,” Kai greeted politely as I entered his house. “This is my son, Hunter,”

He said, referring to the blue eyed blonde boy in front of him. He looked so much like Kai, but his hair color and some different features didn’t belong to him, which made me believe that it was shared with his mate.

“Hey. Good to see you too. Hello, Hunter,” I greeted politely. As I’d imagined, the boy was little, around the age of seven or so. It would have been very grave if I had agreed to teach him the mind-reading technique.

“Um…nice to meet you, sir,” Hunter replied quietly. He really didn’t look like the shy type, probably likes to keep to himself.
